Recently discovered Korean "Italy towels" and they have all but got rid of my keratosis pilaris and severe dry skin

I just wanted to share my event discovery. They are Korean exfoliating product called "Italy Towels" (you can find them on Amazon by searching "Korean Italy Towels" ) which are like a little exfoliating glove but miles better.
I have really terrible dry skin on my arms due to ill health and bright red keratosis pilaris.

I have used them for around a month (after a long bath), along with my regular body lotions and the difference is astonishing. My KP (which was visable from the other side of the room) is all but gone and I no longer have dry skin. The difference they have made to me is incredible, I no longer feel like I have to cover up even in heatwaves.

Just wanted to give them a shout out because they are cheap and really work.

I bet that amazon seller is wondering what's causing the sudden demand!

KeiraKnightleyActsWithHerTeeth · 01/07/2017 14:30

I'm expecting photos of pilled skin as a sporner treat for the recommendation

That's the second Korean beauty product I've bought now. I'm so excited to try these I hate my corned beef legs and arms.
I also bought the Missha time revolution cream which they sent with lots of samples and can recommend it too!!

lovemycatsanddog · 01/07/2017 14:57

Very interesting, are these any good for just normal dry skin?
My arms are very dry which makes them look wrinkly

KeiraKnightleyActsWithHerTeeth · 01/07/2017 15:02

love My knees are "normal" dry skin as opposed to the KP on my arms and it has worked wonders there too.

I'm definitely going to order these! Usually I swear by having a Moroccan bath every 2 weeks, which gets rid of all the dead skin and leaves me looking shiny and feeling soft. But since Moroccan baths aren't allowed during pregnancy I've really missed that super clean exfoliated feeling and I've started getting red bumps on the backs of my thighs, which I guess could be KP 😓

For those asking if these would work even without a bath, I'm sure a hot steamy shower would have a similar effect in softening the skin and making it easier to scrub away.

KeiraKnightleyActsWithHerTeeth · 01/07/2017 15:10

I think if you have a long shower and your skin softens it should work well. I only ever have 5 minute showers so it's a soak in the bath for me.

What's a morrocan bath Butterfly?

I might wait to see everyone's mini reviews before ordering. Give them time to get them back in stock.

ChardonnaysPrettySister · 01/07/2017 15:34

Good reviews on Makeupalley.

ButterflyFree · 01/07/2017 15:53

@EnidButton A Moroccan bath (also known as a hamam - similar to a Turkish hamam too) involves being showered, then having a mud mask applied to your body, sitting in the hamam (usually a mosaic tiled room) whilst steam is pumped in for a period of time. Then the lady performing the Moroccan bath will come in and scrub you to within an inch of your life! Then you rinse it all off with another shower. It's due to the steam element that Moroccan baths are not recommended in pregnancy.

It's astonishing how much grime and dead skin we accumulate in such a short space of time, and how a standard exfoliation glove from Boots barely even begins to touch it. My skin has improved so much since I started doing Moroccan baths. They're very commonplace in the Middle East (I was introduced to them when I moved to Dubai) but they're popping up all around the UK now too. There's a good one in Fulham, and they also have a rather fancy one at the Urban Retreat Spa in Harrods:

Butterfly Thank you. It sounds very interesting. I couldn't do it because of the heat but I like the sound of the scrubbing bit.

margaritasbythesea · 02/07/2017 08:26

Keira can I ask if they help with the redness aswell as the bumps?

Peopleplease · 02/07/2017 14:04

I have one of these! I got it free with a Jolse order and didn't know what it was!

KeiraKnightleyActsWithHerTeeth · 02/07/2017 15:18

margaritas Yes! My redness has really dulled and I think with time it should fade.

Then they´re mine! Thanks.

TheMasterNotMargarita · 02/07/2017 15:21

Oohhhh! Mine just arrived!
Will report back once I've given it a go.

MaryLennoxsScowl · 02/07/2017 19:03

Baa baa, I have bought some too! I have run out of exfoliator anyway, I usually use salt scrub but the last one I got (Body Shop) was a bit wussy and wasn't abrasive enough. These sound usefully like sandpaper for legs!

MaQueen · 02/07/2017 19:34

Hurrah, have just bought them too. Both DD2 and I suffer with KP. Only problem is they won't arrive until after we fly on holiday Sad

Was really hoping to have silky smooth skin by the pool [sighs]

MaQueen · 02/07/2017 19:46

How do you clean them? Can you put them in the washing machine?

MissMogwai · 02/07/2017 20:32

I bought some off the back of this thread 🐑 .

Loads of dead skin came off, especially where I have tanned. I bet they'd be great before a fake tan. Going to do it twice a week to try and improve my corned beef legs.

I've rinsed it in warm water afterwards and it's shrunk to half the size Confused

bluebump · 02/07/2017 20:45

I've just bought some too, fingers crossed I get the same good results.

testing123testing123 · 02/07/2017 20:50

I've bought some too. Will report back! Sulphur and salicylic acid soap combined with ordinary exfoliating mitts has been helping but hoping these will do an even better job!

cherrylove · 02/07/2017 20:51

I've just bought some too.

countyhall · 02/07/2017 21:01

I too bought some off the back of this thread Easter Smile. I was so impatient I ordered Amazon Prime.

I soaked for 20 mins in a bath and then drained the water and scrubbed for a good 10-15 mins. I definitely feel the effects: much smoother skin but I think next time I might do it after swimming and a steam because all of the articles on them say that the longer you have been immersed in water the better the results.

Does anyone know if there are any Korean baths or spas in the UK where you can go and get a treatment using the towel? I think you would definitely benefit from being scrubbed by an 'expert'. I am also looking at the 'back' version of the towel to ensure I get to all places Smile

Umpteenthnamechange · 02/07/2017 21:50

Same thing but cheaper and delivered quicker ...or not?
