If you could only buy clothes from one shop forever...

Which would it be?

Saying a department store is cheating. Doesn't need to include shoes or accessories.

I think I'd probably go for H&M. I seem to buy a capsule wardrobe from there every season and wear it all to death. I like the simple shapes and colour palettes they use. I love the upmarket shops too, but H&M seems to be the basis of my wardrobe.

Probably Zara.

burnishedsilver · 20/06/2017 10:42

I'd really struggle. Every time I find a brand that I think is 'me' (Mint Velvet, Hush), a few seasons later their prices skyrocket and their quality goes to shit.

AtticusCactus · 20/06/2017 10:44

Does TK Maxx count?
I'd have the choice of a bit of everything then.

SleepingBooty · 20/06/2017 10:46

Dorothy Perkins

Time40 · 20/06/2017 10:54

Sandwich. But I don't buy clothes in shops; I buy from Ebay.

PaperdollCartoon · 20/06/2017 10:56

Oo I think TKMaxx might break the no department stores rule, but as I didn't specify I'll let you have it! I can't cope with TKMaxx, only think I've ever bought in there is a wallet.

Zara or maybe Uniqlo.

Reow · 20/06/2017 11:03

Zara

PNGirl · 20/06/2017 11:11

Probably GAP. I'm very jeans-and-t-shirt though. I do like ASOS own brand too!

ThreeForAPound · 20/06/2017 11:13

Hideously hard for me as I'm really tall, yet Long Tall Sally and other 'tall' shops are shite, so I have to shop around.

I'd have to sy Boden for the simple fact that they do dresses and trousers in 'long'.

ElspethFlashman · 20/06/2017 11:15

Monsoon. I think it's unpopular on here but I love anything with embroidery on. And the sizing is fairly generous. I even like their shoes.

AuntieStella · 20/06/2017 11:16

Probably Uniqlo

Though I seem to be under the same curse as burnishedsilver

Floisme · 20/06/2017 11:17

Interesting question. I would struggle too as I'm quite fickle and because I don't think anywhere is consistently good. A couple of years ago, I'd have said TK Maxx but I think they've lost it (or my local branch has).

If money were no object, I'd say Margaret Howell, on whom I have a style crush at the moment. But if fantasy choices aren't allowed, I'd say H&M although I'm beginning to struggle there. Or M&S because despite the flak they (deservedly) get for their monstrosities, I can still go on their website and find stuff I like.

Auchan · 20/06/2017 11:19

Kiabi. I always stock up with I'm in France or Italy but they do deliver!

GeorgiePeachie · 20/06/2017 11:19

Mango

OddMollie · 20/06/2017 11:19

White Company I guess, though my tendency to look like someone from the chorus line of Les Miserables would become more extreme.

GinIsIn · 20/06/2017 11:20

Asos - their own brand label is one of the few that seems to cut for hourglass not pear.

Laska5772 · 20/06/2017 11:25

Hush i think or maybe Boden ( such a mnetter!) but that would give me a serious prob with bras.
So despite the fact that i havent liked anything much in there for years I think it would have to be M&S Hmm

trixymalixy · 20/06/2017 11:26

Zara

Buttercup12233 · 20/06/2017 11:27

Joules

OhWellNeverMindEh · 20/06/2017 11:34

If I had the money, Whistles. Otherwise, Zara.

That was extremely difficult for me.....as a professional purchaser....

ohgoonthenjustonemore · 20/06/2017 11:34

Cos

nina2b · 20/06/2017 11:55

Zara and Uniqlo.

Blondielongie · 20/06/2017 12:00

Toast.
I can only afford about two-three items a year but I don't buy clothes (apart from basics) anywhere else. My wardrobe is extremely capsule.

Not sure what I'd do about underwear though if I could only shop there! Wear their bikinis under everything?

vitaminC · 20/06/2017 12:05

Esprit. I'm lucky to have a large store near my home. It's great because I can get everything there - world war, casual clothes, pyjamas.... I'd say 75% of my wardrobe is from Esprit.
