If you could only buy clothes from one shop forever...

Which would it be?

Saying a department store is cheating. Doesn't need to include shoes or accessories.

I think I'd probably go for H&M. I seem to buy a capsule wardrobe from there every season and wear it all to death. I like the simple shapes and colour palettes they use. I love the upmarket shops too, but H&M seems to be the basis of my wardrobe.

About 80% of my clothes are from Gap and Uniqlo.

H&M only last a season. I nearly always regret anything I get from there but never learn.

I've never been to/tried Cos but I suspect I'd like that if money were no object.

n0ne · 20/06/2017 22:36

Definitely H&M. Been my go-to shop for 20+ years now. Some of the stuff might not last ages, but the price is right, and while I don't like every trend they pander to, I can nearly always find something in there I like, and that fits right.

TheFaerieQueene · 20/06/2017 22:39

If we can do an online only shop - The Outnet.

SchnitzelVonKrumm · 20/06/2017 22:45

Ooh tricky. I've got absurdly long legs so all my trousers are from Gap, but style-wise probably Whistles.

EmmaC78 · 20/06/2017 22:47

Probably Oasis for me.

ChaChaChaCh4nges · 20/06/2017 22:49

Ted Baker.

Whathaveilost · 20/06/2017 22:50

Probably Closet or Zara

Itsautumn · 20/06/2017 22:53

Jigsaw for me. It's on the pricey side but is good for casual and for work wear.

MountainDweller · 20/06/2017 23:53

I love Monsoon and could probably manage a complete wardrobe from there... I'm not in the UK and bought 5 things on my last visit, plus 3 more by mail order after I tried them on but they didn't have my size ☺️☺️☺️

I like East too but not I'm rich enough and they have too much scratchy wool in winter...

hippadoppaloppagorillapig · 21/06/2017 09:23

New Look or Dorothy Perkins probably. Or Matalan, most of their stuff is decent.

Alcea · 21/06/2017 09:43

Oasis

leccybill · 21/06/2017 09:47

Dorothy Perkins. I estimate 80% of my wardrobe is from there.
The rest is from Oasis which I love but find a little overpriced.

Toss up between Monsoon and Cos - popped into both today - Cos in particular had some lovely stuff (well I liked it!)

diodati · 21/06/2017 21:49

Chanel.

Nospringflower · 21/06/2017 21:51

Jigsaw for me I think with Mint Velvet second.

Madeyemoodysmum · 21/06/2017 21:52

Dorothy Perkins.

Buy loads from there. Modern for my age group but not tarty and the cuts fit my shape well.

YellowLawn · 21/06/2017 21:54

it would probably be m&s

chanie44 · 21/06/2017 21:59

Uniqlo - not high fashion, but the simplicity means clothes will fit (I have big boobs and am 5ft)

DreamingOfAFullNightsSleep · 21/06/2017 22:00

Fatface for me. At least partly because there's a handy shop I can get to which is in a market town (tiny!), I can run the children there along the river and they have colouring to keep them busy inside. This makes it the only shop I ever visit!

SweetLuck · 21/06/2017 22:02

Anthropologie for summer.

Toast for winter.

Cheating I know!

RickOShay · 21/06/2017 22:04

This is tricky. Probably Uniqlo. But it would be hard.

PunkOfParis · 21/06/2017 22:05

Oxfam

Fatface

Judashascomeintosomemoney · 21/06/2017 22:06

If it can only be one, and though it's not as good as it used to be, still Ghost for me.

Ammelou · 21/06/2017 22:06

Definitely H&M. Always able to find something I like in there, even when I was pregnant.
