If you could only buy clothes from one shop forever...

Which would it be?

Saying a department store is cheating. Doesn't need to include shoes or accessories.

I think I'd probably go for H&M. I seem to buy a capsule wardrobe from there every season and wear it all to death. I like the simple shapes and colour palettes they use. I love the upmarket shops too, but H&M seems to be the basis of my wardrobe.

Esprit. Have only recently discovered it and find the clothes good-quality & well-priced.

silkpyjamasallday · 20/06/2017 14:45

Ooh this is difficult, I tend to get most of my stuff from eBay as I like variety and bargains. But I'd probably go for H&M as their sizing is small enough for me and their catwalk and premium collections are excellent value for money considering the amount of real silk, cashmere, wool, leather, linen and cotton. Plus I could also get underwear and shoes. I avoid the mainline stuff as it tends to be polyester which I hate.

Desiigual

MumBod · 20/06/2017 14:49

Gap.

Inthemistywest · 20/06/2017 15:36

Seasalt.

hiccupgirl · 20/06/2017 15:53

Very tricky as I like variety and lots of different styles.

I'd have to say Boden, only because I get lots from there and I like the free delivery, returns and discounts. Otherwise Next or M&S but I'd struggle much more there.

I'd have to say Toast but I love wearing their tops with skinny jeans a lot of the time. Their skirts and dresses are good though so I'm sure I'd cope!

Sorry for hi-jack but that's interesting and confirms my suspicions. Their Basics range used to be pretty decent but it's been going downhill lately so it sounds like you have to upgrade to Premium to get the quality. Which I could live with, except my branch doesn't stock it and I'm not ordering online because their sizing is so haphazard.

Come on H&M. I'm a fan but if you don't sort this out, you're going to lose me.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 20/06/2017 18:23

Am I rich? If yes, Vivienne Westwood.

If no, haven't got a clue. I'd probably just live in skinny jeans, cigarette trousers and black cotton t-shirts, so wherever sells those!

Rioja123 · 20/06/2017 18:26

Oasis or warehouse

CoconutAmericano · 20/06/2017 18:28

Cos

Diamonddealeroncemore · 20/06/2017 18:58

Poetry, assuming I had plenty of money. I can only afford a couple of bits each season and I usually wait for the sales so I wouldn't have many clothes but at least I'd love everything in my wardrobe!

RedMetamorphosis · 20/06/2017 19:21

ASOS or Warehouse.

NameChanger22 · 20/06/2017 19:23

Monsoon. I don't like many high street shops but I like Monsoon, especially the hippy clothes.

LadyBundleBrent · 20/06/2017 20:29

COS

Arealhumanbeing · 20/06/2017 20:52

COS. Or &Other Stories, even though most of the latter's dresses seemed to have the back missing recently. Hmm

TheMightyMing · 20/06/2017 20:54

Baukjen - or Whistles but 5 years ago when the fabrics were still good.

Mominatrix · 20/06/2017 20:57

Matches?

IvorHughJarrs · 20/06/2017 21:33

Being a fatty I struggle to find anything nice so have odd bits from all over. I used to love Ann Harvey (back in the day when made by Alexon and good quaity) but it went, then I found Taking Shape (Aussie and very individual) then that went and now I struggle between George at Asda, Evans and Yours, all of which are cheap crap. I don't live near any big cities either which makes it harder.

If anyone can suggest one shop I could live from I would love them forever

Doobigetta · 20/06/2017 21:51

If it was only one it would have to be Gap.

Judydreamsofhorses · 20/06/2017 21:52

Topshop - provided I could hang on to my All Saints jeans, I think I would do okay.

Judydreamsofhorses · 20/06/2017 22:01

@ivorhughjarrs it's maybe not your cup of tea, but a friend of mine who's bigger buys a lot of stuff here www.navabi.co.uk and always looks fantastic. She also gets some lovely things from the "curve" section on ASOS.

missanony · 20/06/2017 22:10

Assuming current budget, next is where I get most from. Either there or Oasis.

MissBeehiving · 20/06/2017 22:31
