I've just had secret Botox! Have told no one! Will I wake up frozen tomorrow?!

Literally am telling no one, just doing this for me, to look less grumpy and haggard.

No change yet! It's only been a few hours though!

Am slightly nervous about what I'll look like tomorrow!

Any advice?

You do realise/ were told that it can take up to 3 weeks to take effect?

PhoebeBee · 14/06/2017 18:11

Yes! Just wanted someone to share my secret with a little!

papersmile · 14/06/2017 18:12

No, you'll be fine. No one will know unless you tell them.

Gingernaut · 14/06/2017 18:13

Keep us updated and tell us how it goes.

I've always wondered about it.

PhoebeBee · 14/06/2017 18:13

Though they did say 2 weeks for the full effect not 3?

Oooh are you going to post pics?

farfarawayfromhome · 14/06/2017 18:14

I've been having Botox for ten years it's amazing. Mine usually kicks in on day 6 and I go back two weeks later for a top up.

Is a top up included in yours?

prettywhiteguitar · 14/06/2017 18:14

No one realised when I had it done Grin I just looked well fresh

PhoebeBee · 14/06/2017 18:15

Yes they said see how I look in 2 weeks and they can adjust it if necessary.

I just feel a bit strange not telling anyone, including DH!

The lady wanted to do round my eyes as well as my between the brow frown line, however I opted out until I see how I get on with this.

I love it I've been having it for about 7 years. I usually find it starts to kick in around day 4.
Where have you had done?

Oblomov17 · 14/06/2017 18:27

Did you go to London OP?
I need my brow furrow done. It's just recently appeared!! I fear I can't afford it.

PhoebeBee · 14/06/2017 18:30

Not London! Ireland!

I got it between my eyes and just above my eyebrows.

Was very clear that I wanted to look fresh, not frozen or startled! I do have some guilt at being so indulgent though! It's not the kind of thing 'I do' but still glad if that makes sense?!

My friendship group are all quite 'earth mothery' and strongly disapprove of Botox. None of them have realised I have had it twice now and fully intend to continue. I am looking forward to seeing their shocked faces when I eventually mention it!

CurlsLDN · 14/06/2017 19:14

May I ask how old you all were when you started? I have a line between my eyebrows that is getting deeper but at 31 am too young? Should I wait or Is everyone else going for it?

PhoebeBee · 14/06/2017 19:24

I'm 37 and have been thinking about it for a few years!

I miss 39 and have had it several times, not many people know, my mum and dh don't know. Usually people say I look like I have had a good sleep or have I put makeup on. I've also had a boob job and most people don't know that either. If people find out they say you don't look like that type and I'm just like there is no 'type'.

Athome77 · 14/06/2017 19:33

Typo I am 39 not miss

bananafish81 · 14/06/2017 21:12

I had my first botox done on Monday evening, am now excitedly waiting to be able to scrutinise my face in the mirror over the coming week or so to see what kind of difference it's made!

Going back for follow up in 2 weeks - chose to hold off on having my forehead done as well until I'd seen how my crow's feet responded, but I think highly likely I'll get a bit in there as well.

Top Harley St consultant dermatologist who only put in a very light amount, better to go low and top up than the other way around

Girlywurly · 14/06/2017 22:01

I'm definitely going to have it done, but I'm not quite there yet in terms of disposal income or creasing! I'm 34. Think I'll probably start at 40-ish.

I'm also vaguely planning a boob job, but intend to do fat transfer rather than implants. Blimmin' expensive though - about £6500+ and right now I'm an impoverished student!!

RiseandGrind · 15/06/2017 19:42

Youll be fine if youve only had a bit in your forehead.

Dontsayyouloveme · 15/06/2017 21:09

I don't understand why you should need to go back for a top up two weeks later! I see a qualified doctor and I've never had the need for a two week top up! she just does it right first time!

KateMiddletonsOtherMum · 15/06/2017 21:16

You'll be fine. No one noticed that I'd had work done on my Pippa's Big Day.

bananafish81 · 15/06/2017 21:19

I go back for a checkup two weeks later because it's my first time and it's important to see how I've responded. Much better to go very light and top up than do too much first time

I'd assume you would see a fully qualified Dr - I'd hope no one would see an unqualified Dr?!

I'm seeing a Harley st consultant dermatologist who has both an NHS and private practice (cosmetic only private of course)

It's not that she doesn't get it right - it's that it's the responsible thing to follow up on a patient the first time you have it done. It's a duty of care!

Ifonlyiweretaller · 16/06/2017 23:36

I've had it a number of times now, around my eyes to reduce wrinkles. Am always given the opportunity to back 2 weeks later if I don't think the effects are good enough. I have only had to do so once though.

I love it - I just look fresher and feel better for it. I go every 3-4 months and it's worth every penny for me.
