I've just had secret Botox! Have told no one! Will I wake up frozen tomorrow?!

Literally am telling no one, just doing this for me, to look less grumpy and haggard.

No change yet! It's only been a few hours though!

Am slightly nervous about what I'll look like tomorrow!

Any advice?

Anyone any recommendations in North London?

Birdsbeesandtrees · 17/06/2017 21:37

I had my first dont this year. I'm 29 and had a tiny tiny frown line I didn't want getting any bigger.

I wil absolutely be having more.

IfYouGoDownToTheWoodsToday · 17/06/2017 21:46

Does anyone know if Botox can work for drooping eyelids?

thenightsky · 17/06/2017 21:57

Does anyone know if it works for miserable bitch mouth?

IfYouGoDownToTheWoodsToday · 17/06/2017 22:08

I've got one of those too, thenight Grin

I'm 51, have no frown lines, only very fine wrinkles - people often think I'm mid 40s, but my god, my eyelids and bitch resting mouth are awful!

oohloolala · 17/06/2017 22:09

See I'd be so tempted if I knew it would be just the right amount in just the right places but I'm so scared of it going wrong and looking weird

Truckingalong · 17/06/2017 22:17

Ive been having it for my 11s for 10 years. If you get spocking or drooping, it's been done wrong. It's bloody brilliant for the forehead. Not sure about anywhere else. I've seen lots of different people and the guy I'm seeing now is the best by far. He practices in a few cities in the uk aswell as internationally. You can follow him on Instagram and his work is outstanding. I'm nearly 46 and I think fillers are on the horizon in the next 12 months.

Truckingalong · 17/06/2017 22:20

Oohlala, nothing to be scared of. It's very predictable. Just go to someone really good and you'll be delighted. Underdone is better than overdone too. I went to THE most recommended person in Cheshire and she overdid it and I felt like I had a concrete forehead for weeks. The worst thing is spocking but even that is easily corrected. Which is why it's often handy to pop back a couple of weeks later.

bananafish81 · 17/06/2017 22:38

@oohloolala go to a very reputable practitioner - consultant dermatologist or plastic surgeon. Someone with lots of experience in non surgical cosmetic procedures. Don't go to anyone who isn't a very experienced Dr. A beautician who's done the botox course isn't going to have the same understanding of anatomy and the nervous system around the given areas. They should recommend going light to start and topping up if needed. Ask to see photos of their work. Ask lots of questions! Good luck

Liiinoo · 17/06/2017 23:40

Woodstoday
Drooping eyelids was exactly why I had Botox. I thought I might need an eyelid lift but the consultant brushed that aside and said Botox would give me what I wanted And she was right - a little bit above my eyebrow arch lifts the whole lid and makes me look more awake and fresher. I also have a little on the outer edges to soften my crows feet. And it all looks perfectly natural. Not even my best mate or my hypercritical adult DDs have noticed anything except I am looking well.

I am pretty vain and try to take care of myself generally but never thought I'd do Botox. Now I have experienced it I don't think I ever want to stop!

OP I'm in Ireland too and would be interested to know where you went...age is creeping in to my face

FinallyThroughTheRoof · 18/06/2017 09:17

I have a brow furrow. It's called being 45 ..and and shouldn't be something we pay for injections to avoid showing on our faces. It should be accepted by society to look older, if you are.

Sorry to be P.O., it's just grim how many people think it's the worst thing on earth to look older, it shouldn't be.

bananafish81 · 18/06/2017 09:35

@FinallyThroughTheRoof I think ageing gracefully is awesome. I don't judge others for having wrinkles

I just don't like them on my own face. A really shit two years has taken its toll on my face and I look knackered and worn out. I wouldn't mind looking exhausted if my fertility treatment had been successful and I was shattered from lack of sleep due to a crying baby. But we can't have children and frankly if I'm barren then I'd quite like to not feel completely shit in my own skin

I'm not judging anyone else's choices, so it's a shame you feel the need to judge others for ours

I had my first Botox about three weeks ago - very impressed so far. I debated not telling DH as he disapproves but I told him on the day that I was going and it's my face and I can do what I like with it. I'm 32 in August. Will def continue to get Botox. Love having my frown lines done. Mine weren't very noticeable or prominent but I could see them if that makes sense. Enjoy!

SciFiFan2015 · 18/06/2017 10:34

I'm considering it. A bit terrified but developing a bad 11 (that's all!) not bad at 39. Don't mind getting the full wrinkles eventually but would like to stave them off a bit.

Would a good moisturiser help with the 11 do you think.

Confession - I have zero skin care regime Blush

I would be much less pissed off about having crows feet like mine if I was 45 and not just 35!

HemanOrSheRa · 18/06/2017 10:44

I'd like to know if it works for resting bitch mouth too.

thenightsky · 18/06/2017 10:55

Truckingalong Can you post the details of your current practitioner (or PM)? If he travels around to different cities I might give him a go. I live in the sticks and a trip to London is just too far and too time consuming for me.

Browtox · 18/06/2017 11:14

Why do people come on to a thread about someone who had had Botox to say they wouldn't? Start your own!

StealthNinjaMum · 18/06/2017 11:22

Finallythroughtheroof Have you never worn makeup, worn clothes to make you look sexier or thinner, shaved your legs or armpits? We all want to look the best we can, I see Botox as another tool to do that.

Anyway many of these women aren't in their 40s, they're younger. Why shouldn't they want to look their best?

TryHarderWillis · 18/06/2017 11:27

You can defo tell the eyebrows don't move and people who think you can't see make me laugh

bananafish81 · 18/06/2017 11:29

@TryHarderWillis yep you definitely can when people have had bad botox. There's tonnes of people who've had it who you've got no idea about.

Dontflyjet2 · 18/06/2017 11:32

I had my first Botox two weeks ago and it looks great. I can move my eyebrows too, if some people can't then they've had too much!
I look fresh and rested and not one person has noticed it.

onesilencetoofar · 18/06/2017 11:44

It might not be for everyone but I had a fringe cut in. It hides so much! One of my better moves. Smile
