We have dusted down our Gigis and boyfriend shirts. We are desperately trying to avoid melting in MMFs. We are planning capsule holiday wardrobes. We are getting ready for summer gorgeousness......come and join us for as we wait for the temperatures to soar.....

Nice dress Rosie and excellent drinking suggestions for QueenC Grin. Not keen on the shoes, the OS one's would definitely work though if you can get them.

Dream PJ day sounds great! I've skim read to catch up on the patio door thread and am now fully hooked!

Shame about Biscester Everyone. The DVF dress is really lovely.

Longislandicetee · 28/07/2017 20:42

Hi everyone! Lib and Dream here is the clothes steamer i bought (from Amazon). Don't want to link to Amazon in case it shows my account details, but on that page it has a link that takes you straight to Amazon. It's less than £20. I have found it really good, especially if i have worn a dress once and want to wear it a gain, but don't want to iron it to take the creases out or take it to the dry cleaners unnecessarily. While i was hunting it down, i did notice that there were loads of other steamers on there, but this one has loads of really good reviews, and i would definitely agree.

Hi to Rosie/Decam, hope life is treating you well!!

I have had an utterly rubbish week with many many tears. There was a job that i was going for at work, which i interviewed for, and the person wanted to offer me the job but then politics conspired against me. I was totally devastated as it was my dream job. But sometimes, these things are not meant to be. On the positive side, having this resolved, has eased a large amount of the anxiety that it had triggered.

On a fashion note, i loved the Chloe pumps that Everyone(?) linked (and Mara has) and fingers are hovering over them. I really really need to do another clothes clear out, my wardrobe is groaning again!

Dry, bet you're all excited!!

libertydoddle · 28/07/2017 20:57

Really sorry to hear you didn't get the job Blingy. Organisational politics are a nightmare.

DryWhiteagainW · 28/07/2017 21:32

Oh so sorry Blingy, but as you say perhaps not to be this time.

Rosie\Decameron so lovely to see you again.x

And the results are in.....19.3kg everyone Grin. Very excited especially since DS gets back from his 4wk lads inter rail trip tonight 6hrs before flying on our family holiday Shock .......I know what you're thinking, we will just take his rucksack and wash it all in our villa Shock

QueenC we are going short haul, but it's hot.

Right, am up, have had my coffee, have caught up on the CFN patio doors thread, going for a run via the library to collect extra recycling bags then the decluttering starts.

Wishing you all good Saturdays!!

Dreamqueen · 29/07/2017 08:45

Bon voyage Dry impressive packing.

Sorry about the job Blingy

Longislandicetee · 29/07/2017 09:20

Thanks Lib, Dry and Dream. Flowers

Happy holidays Dry! I am assuming ds made it back on time?!Shock

Good luck Lib, don't envy you!

Dh and i spending a kiddie free afternoon and evening together. Rare and very much looking forward to it! Need to work out what to wear!

Everyonelovessparkles · 29/07/2017 13:40

Have a lovely afternoon blingy. I think mara said those Chloe shoes were comfy but still had a heel so maybe not suitable for you?? Sorry to hear about the job, especially if it was due to politics. I hate that kind of thing. Any way, their loss.

Good luck with the decluttering lib. I'm quite good at decluttering just not so good at taking the bagged up items to the charity shop.

Excellent packing dry and with room to spare!

Hope you are having a nice weekend with your visitors fedup.

Meant to say that the radley bag looks nice dream. I like radley, I think it's well made and quite classic, especially now they have made the dog logo more discreet. Not sure why it gets do much vitriol on MN. Fossil is another brand who I think make good quality, well priced bags.

Off to a bbq later, though it looks like it might be a wash out. Will just have to console myself with 🍾 instead! OOTD is my Lee jeans and a yellow spot cotton top.

libertydoddle · 30/07/2017 08:13

Morning all! Another day of sorting, tidying, decluttering looms here.

Anyone remember the planned opening date for Arket (the latest in the H&M/Cos group)? I am hoping to do a big try on in there before I leave.

queencerulean · 30/07/2017 08:50

Morning all.
I did a cheeky purchase of this blouse yesterday.

queencerulean · 30/07/2017 08:56

No idea lib as it doesn't seem to say online.

bonkers boots

queencerulean · 30/07/2017 20:11

Who wanted a cheaper version of the Chloe flats. Just seen these

Longislandicetee · 30/07/2017 21:54

They're lovely QueenC!

Dh is away for a week. He said that he fully expects me to shop through boredom. Would hate to let him down so have been browsing while he packs! Some Sunday night links...

Can someone explain why this t shirt is £490?!Shock

My eyes watered at the pain these boots would inflict on my back!

Love this Proenza Schouler woo dress for a/w. If I was less chesty i would buy it in a flash. Can picture it with boots.

Be still my beating heart. My perfect heel height. Alexandre Birman lace up satin sandals. Sob.

Like this Elie Saab dress for dinner or theatre. Dh needs to take me out more!!Grin

Quite like this Ganni leopard print silk shirt. Hhmmm.

libertydoddle · 30/07/2017 22:22

Ohhh nice shirt Blingy. We're all here to enable your shopping help with the boredom.

Did well today, pretty much sorted out my capsule wardrobe for 3 months of living out of a single suitcase covering Ireland, Indonesia and Auckland (including job interview clothes). Have done a list which includes shoes and accessories. Tomorrow I'll plan toiletries and make up. I also sorted out lots of work papers and made DD very happy by putting her in charge of shredding.

Longislandicetee · 30/07/2017 23:19

Wow, that's amazing Lib. Well done you!! What's in the capsule wardrobe?

Another link. I love these Prada velvet Mary Jane pumps. Sadly, I think the highest blocked heels I can try are 2" and those ones are 2.5" so I don't think they would love me back. Or to be more precise...love my back.Grin

libertydoddle · 30/07/2017 23:46

Ireland capsule is:
Olive green Comptoir Chinos
Grey Boden straight leg jeans
Either cropped blue jeans or cropped cords
3 long sleeve t shirts (navy, charcoal and yellow)

Uniqlo marine blue merino jumper
Long Theory oatmeal cardigan
Splendid beige and cream wool poncho
Green Mac
2 x gym leggings, t shirts and sports bra
An old pair of joggers and ancient sweater for walks on the beach, helping out on my brother's farm which I'll bin before heading to SE Asia!
Leopard print loafers, kakhi Puma Suedes and trainers.

Bangkok and Indonesia
2 x day dresses (H&M kakhi shirt dress and shop's red Levi's dress)
2 x Shorts (1 denim, 1 beige Chino style)
4 X t-shirts
1 X long wide leg trousers
1 X red Zara maxi skirt
4 X swimwear (2 swimsuit, 1 tankini, 1 board shirts & bikini top)
Sarong
2 kaftans/beach cover ups
Flip flops, Merrell walking sandals, R&B tan leather sandals.

Auckland
Trousers etc from Ireland capsule
T shirts etc from Indonesia capsule
2 shirt dresses
2 work dresses and 1 jacket
Court shoes and white loafers to add to other shoes from above.

Accessories: 3 earrings, 2 necklaces, 3 bracelets, watch, 2 scarves, 1 belt.

I feel I need a denim jacket or utility style jacket for Auckland.

Dreamqueen · 31/07/2017 08:28

That is impressive capsule packing Lib. I don't think I could be so restrained or that organised. I have enough difficulty packing for 2 weeks in the sun.

Collected my Radley bag this morning. I love it except it is slightly heavier than the Tumi one that I also liked. 800g versus 500g but the £195 price difference has sealed the deal.

You've dropped off my feed Shock

Guests have all gone - we had a great time and are now exhausted!

Lib so pleased it's all systems go for you - am well impressed with your packing skills. You will need to pop in from time to time to let us know how spot on your capsule wardrobe was.

Waves to Rosie; I remember you - glad all is well. Love the &OS shoes but not really the others. Maybe you can find a similar pair - how about Boden?

I love my trina's Paused, so versatile - probably one of my best buys this summer (although not actually purchased much!)

Thanks for the shoe link Queen (hope your bag recovers), I am after the block heel rather than flat version though.

Dream fab Radley bag. Someone mentioned Fossil bags upthread - I have a few and agree they are well made, durable and affordable. I have been using the this style in orange for the last couple of days.

BerniceBobsHerHair · 31/07/2017 21:08

Hello all
Just a quick catch up from me after being on holiday.
Nice to 'see' you Rosie, I remember you too though I have NC since you were on the thread I think - I actually really like the Zara shoes and think they would work well with the dress. I am in the minority though!
Lib how exciting for you - you are being very proactive! Re utility jackets I love my warehouse shacket (size down one or two sizes though!)
I liked the look of the Hush one but it didn't suit me. I think it might be OOS now though.
Love your bag and earlier bargains Dream - I used to like visiting that shop in the past.
Congrats on your new job Stokey - and look forward to hearing about your work wardrobe!
Sorry you didn't get the job Bling, sounds like an annoying reason too Angry. Hope you enjoyed your day/evening out with DH.
Hope the DVF dress works out for you Everyone - that is good news about Coach being available on the outnet.
Hope the holidaying voguettes - Shop, Marsha Blair and Dry - are having fun Wine Gin

BerniceBobsHerHair · 31/07/2017 21:10

Hello Fedup, not ignoring you - I think we crossed posts Smile

FedupNagging · 31/07/2017 22:11

Thanks ok Bernice I know you were not ignoring me Smile- hope you had a good holiday.

So sorry Blingy, I skim read a lot of the last weeks posts so didn't pick up on the job front - I'm sorry you didn't get the role you really wanted. another much better role is just waiting for you....

Thanks to a mention upthread, I've just lost an hour to the CFN threads I really must get a life

AmberNectarine · 31/07/2017 23:55

Hola!

Sorry, have had child free week with DH and have been making the most of it. This equates to theme parks, karaoke and an Elton John tribute act. Excellent fun, though glad to have the nippers back home.

Do I have much to report in the style stakes? Hmmm...

I bought some banana earrings from J Crew, a camo jacket and some rose gold slingbacks from TS and some Frame jeans. Otherwise pretty low key, I think. Love that Ganni shirt blingy, am considering!

In bag news, I've pretty much narrowed it down to either the Balenciaga City or the Gucci Marmont, I think. I think I'd like something slightly larger than my usual crossbody as I'm finding myself using my Falabella at lot lately. Will try both and see where I'm at. Might also get a tote - thinking Goyard or LV for general work overspill. Am in Paris in late Aug so will take a stroll down Rue St. Honore.

Otherwise have been mostly focussing on interiors - finally getting there with the unpacking, though we now have to start the extension work 🙄. Impressed myself by putting up the curtains and changing the locks though.

Will try and be a better participant henceforth.

lib when are you off? We have to do a mini MU!

queencerulean · 01/08/2017 08:47

Morning all.
amber a child free week sounds heaven! Dh and I could do with that. It's the usual that as we're about to go on holiday he's inundated with admin to sort before we go. Just waiting for him to get back from a couple of hours now and then I'm heading to work.
rosie not sure if I commented on the shoes but I prefer the blue ones with jewels to the black ones. But I like quirky shoes
blingy no time to open links but will do so later
fedup the bags coming along nicely. Nearly a whole pot of collonil but the water marks are fading
dream nice bag. I do love the grosvenor. Agree with fedup about fossil bags-I have a couple and they are excellent quality
lib impressive packing!

Catch you all later.

libertydoddle · 01/08/2017 09:20

amber yes to mini MU. Need to confirm final dates but I think I'll be leaving London mid Sept.

One sorry I haven't been in touch yet - could you do lunch/coffee any day next week - pm me if you can and what locations suit you?

Bernice will try that jacket - that just below hip length is a bit tricky on me though, unless it has a bit of shaping at the waist I can easily look enormous. I bought a denim jacket in H&M yesterday.

Which reminds me shop I looked for that linen T for you but no luck. Sorry.

OOTD is rust LKB jersey dress, brown Benetton cardi/jacket, Elia B bronze and taupe loafers, Aspinal snake print leather bracelet, rose gold Skagen watch, green and gold earrings, gold necklace. Navy Pliage bag (carrying a lot of stuff).

Longislandicetee · 01/08/2017 12:29

Lib soooo impressive!

Dream I don't know why Radley gets such vitriol on mumsnet either.

Amber child free week? Weep with envy!!! We had an annual child free day on Saturday and it was so awesome. Fantastic 3 course lunch followed by a mooch around the shops, a coffee, and then bowling and a games arcade. Such fun! I am using my balenciaga city today. Your final list looks great!

I am currently sat near the most dashing looking couple in their 60s. She's wearing a Breton top, blue jeans and nude quilted ballerina flats. Hair is cut into a lovely bob and she's wearing simple gold jewellery which looks nice against her tan. The only thing not quite right is her black handbag but I am a little bit in love with her outfit. He's in a hue of beige and browns, sort of reminds me of dh.

I was drawn to her cream jacket because my one has been my most used item in my wardrobe this spring and summer. I bought 4 cream jackets and of course this favourite one is the one that cost me £19.99Grin
