We have dusted down our Gigis and boyfriend shirts. We are desperately trying to avoid melting in MMFs. We are planning capsule holiday wardrobes. We are getting ready for summer gorgeousness......come and join us for as we wait for the temperatures to soar.....

Oh wow Stokey! That's absolutely awesome!!! Which part of town will you be working in? PM me and let me know you will be working for. So pleased for you!🥂

Hope the holidaying Voguettes are having a wonderful time. 👙

Dry, glad you loved 42st (I love musicals, we went to see one last night too). I was thinking about you during the day as i thought you might be literally feet from the hospital i was in yesterday.

I had another MRI yesterday to understand why i am still in pain and saw my wonderful surgeon afterwards to talk through the result. Thankfully, I haven't had any other discs burst but my one of my nerves is inflamed and surrounded in scar tissue and that's what causing the pain. I left with a shed load of strong controlled drugs to start my own pharmacy. Took the first load last night and could tell the difference straight away.

I have to talk about yesterday's outfit as i loved it so much. I wore this Michael Kors dress with a white cardigan from Primark and these Michael Kors gladiator sandals and carried this Prada double zip tote.Bling was this Gucci watch, a slim gold bracelet and a beautiful tanzanite and amethyst ring which was a present from the pils. Felt very summer casual chic.

Using my gorgeous green Prada bag all week and all the chat on here about Amber's bag has rekindled my interest in bags...Wink

Stokey · 23/07/2017 08:01

Thanks Lib and Blingy. It is full time but they've agreed to let me work two days from home and it is flexible working so I think if I can do one or two long days, I can do 9-3 on my days from home.

Ow your discs inflamation sounds painful Blingy, glad the painkillers are helping. I hope it'll improve. Love that Michael Kors dress and the green bag, gorgeous. I'll PM you about job

I got two dresses fro Me + Em a swing dress and a summer dress which may be too thin. A pair of white and black checked trousers and a cowl-necked top. Hopefully they'll be good basics.

libertydoddle · 23/07/2017 08:16

Two days from home sounds great Stokey. Good picks from Me&Em. I love the swing dress and the trousers.

Blingy Sad that you are still in pain after all you have been through with your back in the last year. Fingers crossed that with the pain managed you can start to recover. Your outfit yesterday sounds perfect. That Gucci watch is gorgeous.

Everyonelovessparkles · 23/07/2017 08:31

Congratulations stokey on the new job. That black me and em dress looks like a good summer dress. And a good price!

blingy sorry to hear you are still suffering. Glad the new medication is working but guess that is only a short term solution. Great outfit. Smile

Only 14 degrees today Shock. Think we might go to the pick your own farm this morning whilst it's dry. The DC got a bit hyper yesterday with being inside so I ended up taking them out in the rain to jump in puddles. The only people in the park were me and people with dogs! Happy Sunday!

Longislandicetee · 23/07/2017 08:59

I love the swing dress too. Think I tried to buy something similar last year and it didn't suit meSad. Great buys, think I will look at the me&em.

I bought a couple of things from Russell & Bromley. Ballerina pumps with blocked heels as at the moment I can only wear flats and low block heels. I also got this bag as a gift for my mum. I keep buying her bling recently so good to get her something different and she loves R&B.

Thanks for your sympathies. I am in no way as much pain as 6 months ago but the nerve pain is just persistent and uncomfortable. My anxiety levels have massively increased as well and this is manifesting itself in very dry patches in my feet and hands plus I am not sleeping. So the cocktail of drugs is a very short term blast to deal with the nerve pain, anxiety and lack of sleep.

Speaking of anxiety, am seeing mil today so need to think about outfit!Grin

queencerulean · 23/07/2017 09:08

What a week. Stress and emotional (dd has left primary school) combined with camping last weekend has left me with a stinking cold feeling like shit.
blingy sorry to hear you are suffering
stokey well done Smile
kitty I still haven't made it to the post office!!!

queencerulean · 23/07/2017 09:09

for shop

queencerulean · 23/07/2017 13:20

I quite like these Cinderella shoes

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 23/07/2017 13:28

blingy so sorry to hear you are still in pain. Have they said if the nerve pain is likely to be a long standing thing or can it be stopped with a course of painkillers/other therapies? hope the painkillers are doing the job and you are getting some relief from the pain Thanks

great news about the job Stokey i'm positive you'll do great at it Smile

feeling pretty rotten from having an infection so just don't have any energy for anything. went out for the day yesterday and it's totally wiped me out. just want to curl in a ball and sleep for a week but ive things to do

Longislandicetee · 23/07/2017 20:18

Thanks One, though sorry to hear you're not well.Flowers

Those Cinderella shoes are weird!Grin

Just came back from Sunday lunch at the pils. I wore an Alexander McQueen dress with Aquazurra flats.

Longislandicetee · 23/07/2017 22:09

It's so quiet with everyone on holiday! Been looking through the Selfridges website and I love this Roland Mouret wool crepe dress. Would get it in a heartbeat but not sure what shoes I would wear it with, given heels are still out.

DryWhiteagainW · 23/07/2017 23:19

That is such a fabulous dress for you Blingy . So sorry that your back is still bad after all that. What did your surgeon say about long term recovery? Also loved your MC dress with tan belt from yesterday.

Stokey well done on your job and work clothes shopping. Exciting stuff.

QueenC well done getting through leavers assembly and camping in one piece!

Absolutely no fashion news. Saw so many lovely things in London but can't find them to link . Am looking to autumn now.

Count down to holiday packing. Whims tomorrow......

Nice outfit blingy, your lunch with the ILs was far more glamorous than mine. Grin lovely dress. Could you wear a block heel like the one that marsha had (I think it was a nude type colour) or these Chloe pumps but are these even too high?

Glad you had a good trip dry and at least you have another holiday to look forward to. I'm thinking about autumn now too. Think it's the change in weather making it feel autumnal.

Humid and grey here today and have had to come into the office. Wearing my Lee jeans (so comfy),this pink top and a cream jacket. Shoes are nude ballet flats, bag is my navy radley pocket essentials (a similar style to the le pilage but better quality) and my white leather Swarovski wrap bracelet. Really pleased with this outfit.

maradesbois · 24/07/2017 15:37

Hello,

Everyone oh no, please not autumn weather already! Am getting too used to 30 degrees with sun and a slight breeze, perfect!

Blingy really sorry to hear you're still in pain. Go easy on yourself, you deal with it all amazingly well and always look so glam and polished but don't put extra pressure on yourself to be doing everything at 100% all the time. Sleep problems are the worst, I've had anxiety in the past and this is how it mamifested, then it becomes a vicious circle where you get anxious about not sleeping and it keeps you awake even more. Hope the drug cocktail is doing its job for the short term, aesthetically speaking you are certainly rocking the flats!

One hope you are feeling better.

Stokey congratulations!! Can't wait to hear about the job, we'll have to meet for drinks soon. Xx

My ootd is this skirt with gold havinanas and a white vest top. Mes Demoiselles is a great label for summer things, got the skirt in the pre-sales and it's been fab. Haven't used hair dryer or straightener for weeks due to the heat, have just been doing a middle part and low ponytail or bun with soaking wet hair straight from the shower then it dries flat not frizzy. Love being low maintenance for a change!

FedupNagging · 24/07/2017 21:25

Stokey, congrats on the new job - when do you start? Nice Me&EM buys too.

Blingy, I am sorry to hear you are still suffering, not much fun on a daily basis. Fingers crossed your cocktail of drugs will help. Fab RM dress but yes, I think it will need heels. Will you eventually be able to wear heels again?

One, it doesn't sound like much fun for you either so hope you improve soon too.

I really love those Chloe pumps Everyone has linked - think Marsha has a pair. If anyone see's any dupes let me know - can't afford the real thing but happy to get a close second!

Mara your holiday sounds so relaxed (really pretty skirt) and great that you don't have to spend hours on hair styling.

We have guests arriving tomorrow and a busy week planned so am more than a little hacked off that the weather is so rubbish. I have several bottles of fizz chilling so will just have to make the best of it Grin

Stokey · 25/07/2017 14:51

I love those Chloe pumps too. Can really picture you wearing them with the RM dress Blingy

Weather's perked up today, hope you've managed to get out with your visitors Fedup. I'm starting in September after the dc go back.

Hope you're feeling better One and QueenC.

Nice skirt Mara, gotta love a low-maintenance holiday.

I've just bought a few more potential work bits from &OS - need to focus on the fact I'm only in the office 3 days a week & rein it in a bit! I'll probably not keep it all but have ordered:
a silk mix dress - I have high hopes for this shape on me
a red pleated midi skirt
some tapered trousers
and a silk shirt

I think that maybe me done apart from shoes! oh and jumpers ... and a coat .... um.... going to need that salary!

libertydoddle · 25/07/2017 21:49

That dress looks perfect for you Stokey. And that skirt is gorgeous Mara.

I made a boring but essential purchase today - [[https://www.johnlewis.com/four-seasons-cotton-blend-mac/p2543223?colour=Dark%20Olive/Citrus lightweight mac] for Ireland in September and autumn/winters in Auckland.

Contract signing done today so fingers crossed for exchange this week (eek!!).

DryWhiteagainW · 25/07/2017 22:15

Really like that dress Stokey.......tempted.

Pre holiday packing hysteria setting in.....am trying to control myself......I don't need anything, I don't need anything, I really don't need anything......mustn't go near shops and panic buy rubbish I'll regret later .......I have plenty of clothes.......but 22k baggage is making me nervous remember I was over last year's 30k!!!!Shock

Out of interest, what do you wear to fly to a hot country? I normally just wear jeans.

OP posts:
libertydoddle · 25/07/2017 22:35

Long or short haul Dry?

Short haul jeans or chinos, trainers, t-shirt, cardigan or pashmina (always feel cold on flights).

Long haul comfort rules - Joggers, cotton t-shirt, something with cashmere to snuggle in.

libertydoddle · 25/07/2017 22:39

I like the Spike's holiday packing approach - you'll like it, she packs lots of dressy evening stuff!!

Everyonelovessparkles · 26/07/2017 07:33

Congratulations lib, hopefully now things are a bit more secure you can start to feel less stressed.

Stay strong dry, don't make any rash last minute purchases you can do that that the airport. When I fly for holidays I sometimes wear a jersey dress if flying short haul or black tapered trousers like these but not maternity, as they can look quite smart but are comfy. But I do quite a lot of short haul flying for work, so have just got used to wearing work clothes.

Forgot to say well done on surviving camping queenc!

Hope you are feeling a bit better one.

Fingers crossed the weather improves for your visitors fedup, but with a fridge full of fizz they might not be bothered!

Stokey · 26/07/2017 08:08

Not jeans Dry, they're something heavy that you will just lie in your case for the rest of the hols, and airports are always hot.

I tend to go maxi skirt or dress, with some light trainers, Tom's, or sandals. Or thin, relaxed trousers. I recently bought the black version of these which are great for travel.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 26/07/2017 11:57

i feel better than i did, hopefully this infection has gone now. if im still not 100% in a couple of days, ill go back tot he doctors and see what they say.

How are you doing blingy?

exciting times lib!!!!

Stokey · 26/07/2017 13:26

Sam Edelman & French Sole on Brand Alley today- I've made a couple of purchases of work style flats. There are some blue Gigis if anyone fancies them.

Anyone - QueenC, fedup - got Boden cashmere cardies? Not sure whether they're worth it and whether to go cropped or normal. There's only green or red left in clearance rather than "sensible" colours.

DryWhiteagainW · 26/07/2017 13:43

Liberty that's a brilliant blog post by THeSpike....funny woman.

Love her comments about evening wear and totally agree about jewelrey.....Blingy will be proud of my bling bag all crappy cheap stuff

Right Stokey no jeans to travel in, might just wear a denim tunic dress and Gigis and tough the chilly British 6am weather just getting in and out of taxi to airport
