We have dusted down our Gigis and boyfriend shirts. We are desperately trying to avoid melting in MMFs. We are planning capsule holiday wardrobes. We are getting ready for summer gorgeousness......come and join us for as we wait for the temperatures to soar.....

Dry I went to see Balenciaga exhibition last week. It was fantastic.

Everyonelovessparkles · 17/07/2017 08:32

Glad you survived the camping queenc, at least the weather was dry.

Have a great trip dry. It's lovely and sunny here at the moment. Gin tasting sounds fab. Enjoy the exhibition too.

Glad the bag is a winner fefup, always the sign of a great purchase when you want to use / wear it straight away.

Great links queenc. The Alaia and Zimmerman dresses are lovely colours but those flowered boots ShockHmm

kitty practical and comfy sandals are always useful.

A beautiful sunny morning. Working at home so wearing my boden navy Richmond shorts and the this yellow top. I ended up getting the yellow and coral after all. Am pleased with them as they are cotton and can be dressed up and down so useful for sunny days at home or on holiday.

maradesbois · 17/07/2017 09:49

Ciao bellezze!

Signing in for a long-overdue catch up. Am on an extended holiday and loving having so much time on my hands. Just spent a pleasant moment over my morning coffee scrolling back through the last few pages of mnv & trying to enjoy the sunshine, sea & cicadas in the shade of my olive tree whilst ignoring ds's whingeing about wanting my phone to play bloody minecraft!

Have looked at all of the sandal links as fear I got it wrong this year. My tan marant sandals which looked so good in London with cropped jeans and tee just don't work with the wardrobe of mainly midi-length dresses I've brought. Trying to pack light I didn't bring my tan Gigis but regret it as they really do go with everything so fab buy blair. Really love your rope ones too Stokey.

Viva I have the black castaner espadrilles, they are fab. Love the ones you went for too. Dry I'd definitely recommend the castaner canvas ones to you, I wasn't bothered about paying extra for suede but the finish on these is really good making them smart enough for town. I wore them to work a lot.

Have shopped so much these past couple of months, can't even remember it all which is a bit embarrassing. Will link a few highlights:

this hat is so good

floral dress bought for a summer party, have been after this for ages and found it half price in moda operandi sale.

red suede heels to wear with aforementioned dress. The height is perfect and love the colour mix.

And now my highlight of the season which was a gift from dh, goyard Monte Carlo clutch. It's a pita that they don't put the products on the site. Think this image is same as mine. Dh had my initials done in black and white, it looks great.

BerniceBobsHerHair · 17/07/2017 11:52

Hello Mara nice to see you back! Extended holiday sounds fab. I'm surprised about the Marant sandals as I would have thought they would go with most things. Love the dress you linked, beautiful.

Amber also glad to see you back. Not a bag expert but interested to see what you pick - do you have a balenciaga city? I can see you with one for some reason.

Viva nice to have you back also! I like the Hush purchases - I have really liked a lot of their stuff this season. Agree overpriced though!

Lib it was seeing you in your white loafers that made me fancy a pair - think I am going to be sensible though as don't think I will get the wear out of them. Plus I have my cream slingbacks that Justa also has.

I really like those sandals Kitty - they remind me of saltwaters beloved of Mumsnet and me

Your trip to London sounds great Dry - how about packing some dresses if it will be hot?

Blair the warehouse sale is still on and might be good if you are looking for some stuff to take away on holiday? They have quite a few things in the pattern you linked a while ago - I can't remember if you ended up buying? Think it was an asymmetric hem dress??

I had white jeans a couple of years ago, I really liked them but they only lasted a few months before they were stained beyond redemption - I guess I don't have the lifestyle for white jeans Grin

One is this Hush blazer the kind of thing you were thinking? I have similar from Whistles a number of years back and it is useful. Maybe a darker colour would be better for you though?

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 17/07/2017 14:11

Bernice I did buy a few things in that pattern, ended up keeping a silk asymmetric peplum top, but I won't look for it in the sale as I've not worn it yet Grin I only just got around to having it adjusted as it needed taking in.

Mara your holiday and your buys sound so chic! You are the Goyard queen. It's funny about sandals, I was looking at more "trendy" ones like your Marants - slingbacks, flatforms - but Gigis are just so comfy and versatile.

I bought some grey jeans from the outnet (Acne ones the same as my navy skinnies) but not sure grey is really me, need to try with some stuff.

Enjoy your week Dry, it's lovely weather today.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 17/07/2017 14:13

These are the jeans. I am thinking they'll look good with pale grey on top, or cream, or light blue or maybe coral, and khaki jacket or black biker. Trying to avoid the grunge/rock chick look as it's really not me.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 17/07/2017 15:15

bernice that blazer does look nice, i might go tot he big john lewis and see if they have it in store so i can try it on, i haven't bought from hush before so i'm not sure what size i'd need

mara you always sound so laid back and chic, i'm just a teeny bit envious!!!

Hope you enjoy your week Dry you sound like you have your wardrobe sorted for all eventualities Smile

blair i love grey skinnies but i suppose i do go for quite a grungey sort of vibe when i wear jeans. I think they would look nice with coral and blue on you. i'm sure you can make them work with the right styling

Amber a bag hunt is it?! i am absolutely certain you will find something lovely to spend your bonus on

lib any word on a mini mu? don't worry over it if there's just no time in your calendar, i know you must be super busy right now getting ready to leave [sob]

libertydoddle · 17/07/2017 16:40

one are you around in August? Am definitely not going anywhere without saying goodbye to you! Things are a bit busy this month but should be calmer on the work front in August.

Am with you in envying mara - that post sounds super chilled out!!!

FedupNagging · 17/07/2017 19:12

I know someone that absolutely would wear the Labrador skirt but definitely not the boots!

Waves to Mara, great to see you back and pleased that you're having a relaxing time. Nice purchases- dress is very pretty and the bag is fab.

Talking of bags, Amber have you decided yet? drums fingers impatiently

Let me know if there is a mini MU in August as I may be able to make it especially if it is daytime or early eve.

I have sold lots of summer clothes recently but not managed to replace much which means that I am wearing a lot of what is left actually in my wardrobe. To tide me over, I purchased a couple of linen dresses very similar to this tunic dress Obviously they are longer on me so I wear them as a dress with flatform wedges or SE trinias but I get positive comments every single time I wear them. Price per wear is going to be brilliant Grin

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 17/07/2017 20:37

lib i'm around until the 18th of august and then i'm going up north for a week so any time up to the 18th i should be able to do if that is any good for you

DryWhiteagainW · 17/07/2017 22:19

Blingy vertically challenged here too.......the camisole would be nightwear only here.

DryWhiteagainW · 17/07/2017 22:40

And Mara great to hear from you....it's been quiet on here.
SHOP and MARSHA come back!!!!

BErnice yes,, should have packed a dress. My mother said "oh you won't need a dress, too posh", put me off, she doesn't get casual dresses at all.....

libertydoddle · 18/07/2017 08:16

Thanks one. Will pm soon with some dates.

OOTD is navy Uniqlo cullottes, H&M charcoal grey linen t-shirt tucked in, tan Isabel Marant belt, dark brown Benetton cropped jacket, long kakhi green and gold beaded necklace from French Connection and tan block heel mule style but with a slingback (does that make sense) sandals from Clark's . Navy Pliage bag. Forgot earrings Blush waits for a lecture from Blingy

Hope everyone has a great day.

Longislandicetee · 18/07/2017 09:14

Lovely outfit Lib and no lecture from me today because.....I am naked!!!😱😱😱 For some odd reason I forgot to put my rings back on so I am only wearing my wedding band (a 2mm plain band) and have left £50k worth of rings on my bathroom dresser. Better not get burgled today.Hmm

I am wearing Hermes heure watch, Tiffany metro bangle which is studded with pink sapphires and diamonds all round and Swarovski pink crystal earrings. But no necklace. What was I thinking?????!!! I am my mothers daughter

Anyway Amber, I think the Balenciaga City would totally suit you. It gets more and more battered as the years go on but it's the only bag which looks good with that battered look. I used it for work when it was new but now it's a fab bag for a casual look. Today I am using my Prada double zip tote which I love. It's green and contrasts with my orange dress and tan sandals.

You're making me want a new bag now....Grin

Great outfit Lib If there are any mini MU happening I'd love to come please?

AmberNectarine · 18/07/2017 11:06

Yes I was thinking of a Balenciaga City, actually. I have their Giant Hip (small crossbody) which has worn very well. The other options I'm considering are a PS11 or a Gucci Marmont.

Everyonelovessparkles · 18/07/2017 11:39

Great to see you back mara sounds like you are having a lovely time. Shame the tan sandals don't seem to be working as they look nice.

Lovely outfit lib.

blingy Shock at lack of ring bling, but bracelet sounds lovely.

Hope you packed the right stuff dry, another sunny day today.

Am going for afternoon tea today. Think I might wear this white lace dress.

libertydoddle · 18/07/2017 11:40

Naked fingers and neck Blingy Grin

Dream and Fedup I will keep everyone updated on any MU's.

On the subject of my move I'm having another melt down possible PMT provoked waves of tearfulness over the weekend. Still don't have exchange/completion dates agreed (insane system) which means I can't plan going away stuff yet. People from work etc keep asking when I will be finishing up, DD's headteacher chases me every time she sees me as they have a waiting list for places at the school I am not officially giving notice to the school until contracts are exchanged starts to hyperventilate at thought of house sale falling through and not having a school place Also one friend in particular seems to text me every day to tell me that her diary is filling up and if we want to see her before we go I need to book her in now am this close to telling her to fuck off.

DH doesn't want to have any goodbye get-togethers so is refusing to help with any of it (I said this to another friend who knows him well and she did this Hmm face and pointed out that it's always me who organises Christmas / birthdays etc, that he always moans and says he hates them and then always seems to thoroughly enjoy them)

And DD keeps randomly crying about things like the fact she will miss the car and it's not possible to kiss the car goodbye and can we please take it with us.

maradesbois · 18/07/2017 12:09

Oh lib, huge hug, wish I was there to give to you in person. Sounds like such a difficult limbo-like situation. The school has no right to put pressure though, they should treat the situation as if dd is staying until told otherwise instead of speculating.

Tks for compliments yesterday One and others, think I was feeling particularly relaxed! Today dh has been stung by wasps & making a big fuss and mil has arrived so decidedly less chilled all round.

Blingy no neck bling, what is the world coming to!!

Amber was going to suggest Gucci marmont or dionysus.

Bernice sorry I missed meeting you at the mu but hope to see you at the next one.

Fedup love the navy linen dress you linked, looks lovely and breezy. I bought this dress in black in the sales, wore it out to dinner last night. Have been embracing black recently after avoiding for years.

Dreamqueen · 18/07/2017 14:44

Suggestions please for a 60th birthday gift for a stylish lady. ( not close friend so not much idea or inspiration) Going a party on Saturday & have spent the morning wandering around shops & have no idea what to buy. At the moment John Lewis voucher is looking likely but thats not very exciting & seems a cop out. Had thought of those fancy gin & tonic baloon glasses but that seems cheap? Any ideas please?

queencerulean · 18/07/2017 19:28

I seem to have missed loads but willmcatch up later as right now I'm going fantasy bag shopping for amber
