I have just done a Ralph Lauren haul after thinking about these items for a few weeks and waiting for the sale. Somehow everything is navy
Silk/cotton V neck sweater
Boatneck tee
Wrap t-shirt
Lace pencil skirt and
Chunky knit cardigan.
A couple of the items are described as "bright navy", which has got me v excited as I don't think I've ever bought anything in "my" Spring navy before. Fingers crossed.

Couldn't sleep last night (heat and fretting about a hospital appt I had today) so ordered a random jumpsuit at 2am. I'm apprehensive!

i couldn't sleep either last night, it was just too hot plus i've had really unsettled sleep for weeks now, i'm managing 3-4 hours a night tops so am feeling very fuzzy headed during the day as well because of the lack of sleep

Nothing in the sales is grabbing me right now, the only things i have bought recently have been some short pjs and more perfume.oh, and books but books are a necessity for life really

Over a week on from your great advice re holiday wear, I have bought absolutely nothing despite a day in the big smoke. So, it's internet shopping.

First up for those of you who swear by Gigis. I'm going to order them to try (ignoring the fact that I don't 'do' toe posts!) but the Sam E sizing is confusing. To my mind a UK 6 is the same as a European 39. However, Sam E says a 39 is a UK 7. Did you ladies go by UK or EU sizes?

Once that's sorted, I'm off on a dress hunt. Have ordered a couple of dresses from Monsoon to try but I've lived in jeans for so long that I have no idea what suits me any more!

My oasis order arrived. These shorts are lovely but too pleated around the waist and make me look big.

The other shorts and one of the dresses must have now sold out as they're not online anymore. There's a dress that I love but the forecast doesn't look great so I'm wondering whether I'll get enough wear out of it.

jolly I am not sure if this will help, but my Gigis are a US8 and I'm a UK5 which I would consider a 38. I bought them from NAP and their size chart agrees with this so you could always consult it? Eg here (basically the same shoes) :)

Jolly I'm a 5 1/2 uk, 39 European and I have 2 71/2 US and an 8 for some reason. I've also discovered to my horror that on the lining if the toe post where it says the size it says that they are all man made. I was certain they were 100% leather

dp is away with work at the minute so bed to myself which might help keep me cooler as he's basically a human radiator which is great in winter but not so much when the weather's like it is!

My Gigis are 8.5 I'm pretty sure and I'm 5.5/6 UK sizing. I know the Sam E courts I bought in December are an 8.5, at any rate!

Nice buys blair, from what I can gather about your style, RL stuff really suits you.

Shame about the shorts queenc. I got the boden Richmond 4 inch shorts in navy and pleased with them, in case you are still on the look out.

My boden order came. The dress that lib ordered is lovely and a keeper. It's nice to have a change from stripes , however the navy skirt has gone back. The 10 was a tad too tight but the 12 too lose and I just didn't love it and given the price it's gone back. The tops were lovely colours - I loved the yellow, it wasn't too bright and looked good, but the 10 was too big. It was supposed to be a lose fit but I don't like them too look as feel it makes me look huge. Have reordered the pink in a 8 but it's sold out in the yellow

one, I've been going in the spare room these last few nights as DH's snoring is driving me insane, and it's been lovely to spread out in the bed .

I'm a 4.5 uk shoe size so got a 5/38 for my Gigi's. I thought they were leather too Dry

Just checked my Gigis. The snakeskin ones are all MMF but my zebra print ones are leather upper. I wear a US10 and am a UK7-7.5. The label says they are EU40.

I'm wearing my Gigis to work at the moment and just checked... leather upper only. (They are actually called Gretel I think, basically embellished Gigis)

Interesting that you think RL is good for me Everyone and Fedup - I currently own none, apart from a polo shirt, which I never wear.

Does anyone have any ideas for where to get nice hair clips, bulldog type? I can only think of J crew...

Well I'm just going off what you buy and what others say. I just get the impression you are quite classic but in a fresh / youthful way and RL has some good classical / basic pieces. Can't help with the hair clips I'm afraid.

I also wonder if the reese Witherspoon line draper james would be your kind of thing too? Maybe some of the skirts would be a bit too A line? I really like this line but my style is not very adventurous!
