I doubt the Middleton dad paid for Kate's wedding.....maybe for the dress or something....but not the entire wedding!

LuluJakey1 · 21/05/2017 20:15

I think I remember reading he paid for the family stuff at the Goring Hotel beforehand, the dress, her other outfits, the car , and the Queen and Prince Charles paid for the rest (and the government for the parades, security etc).

I like the Middletons- they are totally discreet, not flashy at all, no skeletons have emerged, seem a very close, happy, normal family and have not been pushed out as Royal in-laws often are.

heateallthebuns · 21/05/2017 20:17

Puppy's dress is gorgeous, love Kate's, bridesmaids, page boys.....all perfect.

heateallthebuns · 21/05/2017 20:17

Pippa not puppy

LuluJakey1 · 21/05/2017 20:22

I thought Kate's outfit was lovely - very late 1930s, 40s look to it- and the colour was beautiful. Very subtle, pretty colour, understated and sophisticated. Hat was great, shoes, tights - she got it really right I thought.
There was a woman with Spencer Mathews who looked absolutely dreadful - awful gold outfit, horrible flashy handbag, mis-judged neckline, tacky jewellery, nothing flattered her. Don't know who she was.

Puzzledandpissedoff · 21/05/2017 20:23

I don't find it hard to empathise with the poor

Actually, I didn't say that you did. I've often found, before having a rant, that it can be helpful to read the post you're ranting about ... Wink

It always makes me laugh wryly when people bang on about the injustice of social inequality on threads like these.

When I'll wager that those same people's weekly shopping bill would feed a family in the third world for a year.

hmbn · 21/05/2017 20:42

I think she looked absolutely beautiful and classy - but too thin! As someone else has posted, no heaving boobs on show - or acres of back flab covered in tattoos, which makes a refreshing change Wink!

pollymere · 21/05/2017 20:43

It seemed a bit dated. My friend got married at the same church five years ago in a practically identical dress so we've been joking that Pippa must have seen her wedding and copied it!

EllenMP · 21/05/2017 20:44

Boring.

nina2b · 21/05/2017 20:56

Kate gets to play centre stage at every Royal event she attends. Yesterday was Pippa's turn...

Erm...Kate has married into the Royal family so of course she often plays a central role. Playing such a role will never be Pippa's.

PigletWasPoohsFriend · 21/05/2017 21:20

Errrrr it's Pippas wedding so of course she should get centre stage not her sister.

After all in this situation that is 'all' she is. The brides sister. It isn't a royal event it's a family wedding.

Christmastree43 · 21/05/2017 21:28

I don't love Pippa's dress on her - think the high neck and low waist emphasise her 'ruler' body/ lack of hips. But her and Kate always seem to go for things which emphasise this shape, clearly their 'fitness bods' are something they really like which is fair enough. Pippa has the guns out too.

IMO Kate's dress was far more flattering and feminine but appreciate this is a matter of taste - feminine isn't what everyone aims for nor should it be.

MadameSzyszkoBohush · 21/05/2017 21:35

Lulu that was possibly his sister, I'm not 100% sure.

Kindlethefourth · 21/05/2017 21:40

Does anyone else think Kate looked a bit fed up of seemingly being in charge of all the children outside afterwards whilst William just got to hang out with his brother. I would be exactly the same!

ilikespaghetti · 21/05/2017 21:46

I thought Pippa looked beautiful, love her hair up & her make up was perfect. However she looked so blissfully happy, I have no doubt her & James are completely in love.
I thought Kate looked lovely, the dress was slightly similar to the Issa dresses she favoured years ago (like the style she wore in her engagement interview) she did look tired though...

CaveMum · 21/05/2017 21:50

I like this summary of Kate looking after the kids: www.scarymommy.com/kate-middleton-pippa-middleton-wedding-kids/?utm_source=FB

Pippa looked stunning. Beautiful dress. Maybe a little too spray tanned???

Kate looked very pale and seemed to try and compensate for this with too much blusher. I wondered whether she might be in the early stages of pregnancy???

CattyMcCatface · 21/05/2017 22:16

I can't believe no-one has mentioned the hat of the woman with the Fruit Pastilles-inspired dress! It was HUGE! If there had been a stiff breeze she would have took off!

Want2bSupermum · 21/05/2017 22:26

I thought DoC picked the right dress to blend into the background. It was her sisters day. I also think it was better that Megan Merkle didn't show up until the evening. If she had gone to the church the press would have been focused on that rather than the bride.

Brides dress was nice. Personally would have taken half the material out from the skirt. Either way it was beautiful.

What surprised me was how old Pippa looked. She looks to me like she is pushing 40 when she early 30s.

Spitfires are not hard to hire. We had a fly over from the red arrows at our wedding. My uncle was a pilot with the red arrows so it was his request that we do it. There was no cost because of the family connection. I made a donation in lieu of the fee to the air force charity supporting retired military.

Blueink · 21/05/2017 22:47

Find Pippa's dress dull on her & she's too thin to carry off the heaviness of the lace and style. Poor choice for her IMO. Her sister looks elegant, at ease & understated in a dress that suits her frame and colouring.

Christmastree43 · 21/05/2017 22:58

Yes agree that she was too thin to carry off the heaviness of the dress

chickpeaburger · 21/05/2017 23:03

I imagine anyone that calls anyone "too thin" rather than slim, is fat.
