Sotd is Jade. Am wearing a sleeveless cotton top and cropped jeans.

I'm harnessing the power of evaporation to keep cool via my hair which im wearing loose and damp. It's pretty curly so it resembles a restoration wig but i can live with that!

VintagePerfumista · 19/06/2017 11:24

My Eau du Sud has arrived so that's what I'm wearing and will be I imagine for the forseeable future.

Not convinced it's 100% kosher, seemed a little too cheap, will investigate the bottle etc later- though the smell is fine. (I knowingly bought a fake Paris flanker last year and though its longevity was shit, the actual scent was bang on so I forgave it. This may be the same. )

Puppylucky · 19/06/2017 12:36

To add to the light floral suggestions I would reccomend Versace Pour Femme ( hyacynth and honeysuckle) and Bvlgari Goldea ( creamy and floral) both are very pretty and quite young feeling

OCSockOrphanage · 19/06/2017 12:45

Sel Marin here today. Loose linen clothes and lots of liquids.

Pestilentialone · 19/06/2017 12:51

SotD is some blue stuff from Aldi Grin

Digging though the samples, I have two No19s, one old and one new, will do a side by side test tomorrow.

I am trying not to buy anything new and doing a lap of the old forgotten stuff.

Loose linen here as well. Cropped wide leg trousers/culotte things that I swore I would never buy but are great for this weather.

Auldspinster · 19/06/2017 13:31

i've got big flappy denim culottes which look awful but are wonderfully airy. Got the straight leg crops on today so a bit stuffy

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 19/06/2017 14:40

have ordered ET Diamonds and Rubies, I was going to wait but hell, why not just get it! should arrive sometime this week, it was only a tenner as well so pennies really especially if it's as nice as I've read it to be

have to go out to the supermarket but i really don't want to,i want to stay in front of the fan and not move all day!!!!

Mrsmartell08 · 19/06/2017 15:16

I've been ironing
I could cry

Mrsmartell08 · 19/06/2017 15:17

White linen skirt and thin top
Im still melting

Calminaqualm · 19/06/2017 15:50

SOTD is PP's Blackberry Bayz, the smallest spray bottle size. It's a dupe of the Jo Malone one. I definitely need a larger bottle, as well as the very largest size (£12 for 50 ml) of Virgins Islands Waters (Creed dupe) as I have also finished that one in this hot weather. Floofy I can really recommend trying this dupe as you like the real thing so much. It's possible that I got a lucky batch, but I tested the real VIW on one arm and the dupe on the other and they were very similar. In fact the dupe seemed to last longer! It lasts about 3 hours on me. I'm also going to try the PP Rive Gauche as it's recommended so highly on here!

I can't possibly go walking today as it's far too hot. AIBU to think a nice wander around an air-conditioned shopping centre, dropping into TK Max and the Fragrance Shop for an interesting chat with the helpful sales lady in there, is just as good as 10k steps?

MrsCocoa · 19/06/2017 18:29

Sounds reasonable to me Calimina Smile.

MrsCocoa · 19/06/2017 18:31

Sorry Calmina - given my spectacular typo count of late I do need to accept that I can no longer function reliably without reading glasses Sad.

Calminaqualm · 19/06/2017 20:37

No problem, MrsCocoa! I'm back from the shopping centre, collapsed in front of a fan. There's nothing I'm interested in at TK Maxx - it's a very sparse selection of perfumes in there.

Pestilentialone, I noticed today that Savers are selling 50 mls of SJP's Covet for £14.99. A bargain!

MrsCocoa · 19/06/2017 20:50

Talking about TK Maxx - has anyone tried any of the Pascal Morabitos - some are well reviewed but I can never remember which ones? Have been seriously tempted by Courreges in Blue (given my passion for Empreinte).

ThreeForAPound · 19/06/2017 21:37

Thought you'd like to know that I was just at a school concert and I got the distinct whiff of Yardley Jade from not one but TWO passing Mums. Its spreading.... Grin

Judydreamsofhorses · 19/06/2017 22:38

No heatwave here, but I wore MMM Untitled anyway.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 19/06/2017 22:51

still melting here, was looking for a scent to wear tonight but ugh, too much choice and everything feels too much in the heat. might have to be Signoricci just before bed for the cooling factor of it

MrsCocoa · 19/06/2017 23:00

Stumbled across some Orla Kiely orange and caraway body mist being flogged off in a local department store at the weekend. I don't, ordinarily, entirely get body mist, but it comes into its own in these weather conditions.

Pestilentialone · 19/06/2017 23:17

Thank you Calminaqualm BUT I am busy trying to do useful things and not spend money. Halo
It won't last but I must try and make it to the end of the week before I succumb.
I am sure that there are not three bottles in my 4160 basket Blush

Calminaqualm · 20/06/2017 06:38

MrsCocoa, I have Pascal Morabito's Purple Ruby. It is a not-very-interesting sweet strawberry/caramel/vanilla, with the focus on caramel. It's one for the cold weather. The bottle is delightful, though, chunky glass with a wooden top and pretend rubies floating at the bottom! It was a bargain price in TK Maxx and probably just about worth the money 😏

VintagePerfumista · 20/06/2017 07:02

I don't know if it still ongoing, but people yesterday were linking to some game on the Jo Malone website where you were given a free 30ml bottle of something with purchase...not sure even that would tempt me to pay ££££s for Emperor's New Clothes when the PP dupes are probably perfectly nice and undoubtedly much longer lasting!

Mrsmartell08 · 20/06/2017 07:14

Agree re body spray in this heat...been wearing lush twilight
Ugh
So hot already :(
I may try a perfume today...prob valentino poudre
Hope you like Diamonds and rubies as much as I do three
Well..time to get ds1 up...
Have a good day all x

FloofyCat · 20/06/2017 08:46

My local TK Max is shit for perfumes, and their make up always look opened and used too. I need to find a better one!

Body sprays are lovely in this heat, and even DD's Victorias Secret body mists (usually edging into pink minger category to me Wink) smelt nice this morning.

Haha about the Jade wearing school mothers - I wonder if a lot of lurkers read this? Maybe wearing Jade could be the new Perfumistas Bat Signal? So...Jade, Chanel headscarf and Terrible Trousers

Calm thank you thank you for PP tip re Virgin Island Water - there is absolutely no way these days I could stretch to FBs of Creed (why are they so expensive?!) so have been ekeing out samples of my beloved VIW, don't know why PP didn't occur to me! I smelt a new Creed last week, can't remember the name but didn't like it. Even the salesperson wasn't too keen Grin

Talking of why are they so expensive yes agree re Jo Malone, I do like some of them but they do not suit my skin and turn to Air De Freshener on me. I always think they would make nice room scents - I keep meaning to try the Perfume Parlour room fragrance dust stuff - has anyone here given it a go?

Jealous of all the cool culottes, you all sound very elegant! I don't do trousers and only really like fitted clothes so am not good in this weather, although the shaved part of my head is lovely and cool Smile auld I love the sound of your restoration wig, I used to have arse length very heavy hair and moaned about it all the time. Could you put it into plaits when damp and coil it around your head? If you can put up with the Heidi jibes Grin it will be lovely and cool and then you will have curls when you take them down in the evening (and it will still be damp if it's like my old hair!)

I'm sorry that I am so obsessed with hair at the moment and keep going on about it. It has recently overtaken perfume and cats as the uppermost topic in my mind I think due to a teenage DD hair dye related episode too painful and recent to talk about Grin It has also wiped out my perfume budget for the year month.

I shall resume perfume witterings discussions shortly I promise Smile I hope you are all enjoying lovely sunny weather - apparently it will break with a big thunderstorm tomorrow, so if anyone wants to join me underneath my bed, I shall make room!

VintagePerfumista · 20/06/2017 09:53

nice little vintage set with LOULOU here

I already have one of these sets, and they wouldn't ship to furrin anyway, but it's a nice set.

I think I need to try some more Creeds. The nasty woman in the perfume shop let us try one- and my friend has some, but I will get some PP ones I think.

ThreeForAPound · 20/06/2017 10:17

Interested in the Creed Virgin Island dupe! I have the Spring Flower dupe and its spot on.

SOTD is Jade. Nice in this weather.
