I can't find one on my pesky phone!

I'm happy to start one here if there isn't one running.

Welcome Karcheer Smile!

So, I managed another DVD workout today. Diet has been pants, but I did put on makeup today and bought some new pants, which I think are sexy. I'm going to get rid of all my ill-fitting pants now, to make room for the new ones.

newaverage, yes it's been lovely weather here too and your day in the garden sounds lovely. I have never gardened in my life, but am about to start, as we're finally getting round to it after being in our first house for nearly a year and a half Blush.

Place marking for later

littlejeopardy · 07/05/2017 21:47

Exercise is something I really need to take up. Impressed with you who do the whole moving about energetically thing.

Finished week 1 of my 12 week NHS Weight Loss Plan. I weighed myself and first of all the scales said I weighed the same as last week, so I stepped off and on again and I was 3lbs lighter! Tried it a third time and it stayed at 3lbs lighter so I am calling it a win this week.

I've also signed up to the Pink Parcel subscription box to start refreshing my make up supplies and am wondering about making each Friday night a pamper evening.

walkinganhouraday · 08/05/2017 10:04

Morning everyone.

I've been reading from start of this thread but haven't actually done anything.

I need to lose about 4 stone and have been in a rut for about 10 years but I'm determined that's going to change. So today I have:

  1. Booked hair appointment as haven't had my hair cut/coloured professionally for about 18 months.
  1. Booked appointment for leg wax and fake tan for next week as I'm going away. Haven't had legs waxed in years so that should be interesting.
  1. Ordered Footner because I've heard good things on here about it.
  1. Have free morning now so just about to shower, do eyebrows, apply moisturiser and gradual tanner - which I've never used before.
  1. Remove nail polish from my toes which has been on for weeks and looks vile.

I've also joined an exercise class which I'm really enjoying and actually wish it was more than once a week.

Trying to walk an hour a day - hence my name as it was a New Years resolution - but usually only manage 3 days out of 7 but that's 3 days more than before so all helps.

Finally I've cut back on processed food generally and carbs in particular. Also keeping eye on portion sizes.

Sorry post is so long but it feels positive to put it down on paper.

NatureIsAWhore · 08/05/2017 11:42

Ho, can I join please?

I am usually pretty active, run 4 times a week and cycle lots too and yoga after every run. But since Easter half term I have done nothing, absolutely nothing at all! I blame the kids being off for 2 weeks and not finding the time as I usually run during the day. Then I have just fallen in to a rut of no exercise.
My eating habits have become realy bad too!
I'm pretty slim so I use that as an excuse but I'm starting to develop a flabby belly. I need to tone, run & eat well!

Today it has started. I have cut out treaty type foods.... Cakes, biscuits etc. I'm going to try and replace with fruit!

My general appearance, hair, make up etc is a whole other thing, which I'll tackle once I get in to a good health routine.

Can't do too much at once or I'll fail!

theclick · 08/05/2017 14:00

I am pregnant and while I'm usually princessing, I'm making a special effort now to make myself feel better. So -

  • Doing my nails tonight (by myself)
  • hair colour and cut on sat
  • gym or a work out three times a week
Rockaby · 09/05/2017 09:42

Welcome walk, nature and click!

I got on the scales yesterday and to my horror I've gained quite a lot of weight since last week! I am hoping it's water weight / maybe something to do with starting exercise again .

Anyway, I am redoubling my dieting efforts today. Healthy, low carb soups and salads all the way.

I did my Davina DVD again last night. It's the 15 minute one, so I do two of them (four on Saturday) and then a stretch. I'm going to try and do this daily. So far, so good and it does feel like a decent workout despite being short.

Hope everyone is having a good week Smile.

littlejeopardy · 09/05/2017 16:09

Good work on the exercise front rockabye! Doing a short intense session every day is a great approach... I've not done any exercise yet apart from walking the pram around the park to induce nap times!

Getting my hair done today. Its long overdue. I am going to feel so much better once these roots are dealt with.

Rockaby · 09/05/2017 19:37

Thanks littlejeopardy. I haven't got round to it this evening, but will do at least one workout later. Diet has been a lot better today. I just need to stick with it. I just love food so much! Greedy fecker Grin.

My hair is pants despite, (or possibly because of), a recent cut. I'm trying to grow it and it's at a really unflattering length at the mo. It's also getting a little dry as I've been shampooing too often I think. I might get a hair mask tomorrow, unless I can maybe fashion one from items in my food cupboard... I'm off to google!

OP posts:
NatureIsAWhore · 09/05/2017 21:22

My hair's the same rock I'm in the growing out stage from pixie & hate it! Can't wait until it's atleast chin length!

I managed a run today, and have eaten pretty well. Failed on that front yesterday! I think I need to do exercise to keep my diet focused

DragonNoodleCake · 09/05/2017 22:24

I've been eating great, walking lots (lost 4lb) just bleached and toned my hair.

But, my legs need shaving, exfoliating and moisturising, my nails are a mess and I'm a wee bit spotty.

Ilovespringandchocolate · 10/05/2017 09:28

I go on holiday on Friday GrinBlush

I have been trying to cut out chocolate and 'bad' things the past couple of weeks and just eat 2 meals a day (I don't get time for lunch anyway) I've upped the exercise and have been doing yoga 4 x a week too. I think it's worked as my stomach is flat and I feel lighter. Just need to keep it up for 2 more days. I'm going to try and swim for 30 mins and do 30 mins of yoga every morning whilst on holiday too as I don't want to pile weight on whilst over there and come back feeling crap.

I had gels on my fingers and toes last night, I'm having my eyebrows tinted and waxed this afternoon and I've also just had some subtle eyelash extensions put in (always have them for holiday) I had my hair highlighted Saturday too.

So, I think I'm almost there! Need to go holiday shopping this afternoon for last min bits Grin

Dottydoodoo · 10/05/2017 11:18

I've just been and had a haircut, I had about three inches cut off and it looks and feels a million times better. I am so rubbish, I last had my hair cut in December Blush! Hairdresser advised every 8 weeks and that is what I shall do!

littlejeopardy · 10/05/2017 14:10

Congrats Ilovespring! Sounds like you are set for your holiday. Do you mind me asking, what the benefits of yoga are for you? Would you recommend it as a form of exercise? I have been tempted to take it up recently.

dottydoo I have new haircut bliss too. My hair is so shiny and bouncy today. Love it!

walkinganhouraday · 10/05/2017 15:48

Just had mine cut and coloured today. It's looks lovely but I forgot that I have a gym class tonight so sadly won't benefit from the hairdresser's blow-dry tomorrow.

Dottydoodoo · 10/05/2017 16:04

littlejeopardy and walking it's lovely isn't it! Mine is all shiny and bouncy too. My hair is very fly away and it had got to the point of just not being able to do anything with it because it was so long and blergh! I'm excited to do something with it now it's looking nice again!

I've treated myself to an electric shaver today, it's a Philips satin shave for wet and dry. I now have no excuse for having hairy legs!

Rockaby · 10/05/2017 16:44

Envy at all of you with lovely new haircuts Grin! Super princessing all round Smile.

Diet has been alright today, but not as good as yesterday. I did a short workout last night and have been out most of today, at the park, playgroup, shopping and in the garden so have been doing lot of walking / running around with DD. I might defuzz (which I still haven't got round to), and fake tan tonight, though that depends on how early I get organised. I have a meal out with friends tomorrow, so will probably have a glass or two of wine, but will order a salad.

OP posts:
DragonNoodleCake · 10/05/2017 22:53

Dotty please let me know how you get on with the shaver - I'm considering one

princessbear80 · 12/05/2017 10:12

I want swishy new hair too like you lot but I've just had to cancel my appointment that was booked for tomorrow as hubby has to work so I will be at home with my little boy. Must try to see the sunny side... will do it next week instead so hair will be fresher for the wedding!

Thanks rockaby, will start applying my gradual tan one week before the big day. Still need to find an outfit!

Some good exercising going on! I have run twice earlier this week, but have caught a cold which has also led to eating biscuits... oops! Water drinking and moisturising going well though, need to step up with the exfoliation though.

Whoop it's nearly the weekend, hope you all fit in some princessing!

Littlejeopardy, what's the nhs plan like?

littlejeopardy · 12/05/2017 12:56

Here is a link to the NHS plan www.nhs.uk/LiveWell/weight-loss-guide/Pages/weight-loss-guide.aspx

It's simple common sense stuff really, although I am only two weeks in and I have got really lax in filling out the chart.

Its basic portion control and upping the exercise. I think the aim is to make maintainable changes and lose small amounts each week.

Rockaby · 12/05/2017 14:20

The NHS plan sounds really sensible. I will have to have a look at it.

My diet has actually been really good the past couple of days, (except for 2 x medium / large glasses of wine at dinner last night Blush). I haven't done any exercise, aside from walking, since Wednesday. I actually have time to do a workout now, but I am lacking in motivation.

I haven't used shampoo in a few days and my hair feels a lot better for it. I still haven't defuzzed, (apart from my face, which I did yesterday). Hopefully I will have time for a proper pamper session tonight; defuzz, bath, exfoliate, face mask, gradual tanner and paint nails.

OP posts:
Rockaby · 13/05/2017 12:44

Just checking in again really.

Diet has been going to plan more or less. I had a sneaky go on the scales this morning and I've lost a couple of lbs since I weighed myself on Wednesday, (though tbh I don't know whether to believe my rubbish scales or not tbh)!

I have started the 30 day shred DVD. I did level 1 yesterday and moved on to level 2 today.

Hope everyone is having a lovely princessy weekend!

I've been doing SW since December and have lost 2.5 stone
Swimming twice a week too
Trying to get on top of rough feet at moment and bought a battery pedi thingy
My nails have been ruined by too many shellacs so am trying to recover them with nail oil at moment
I always keep on top of hair cut n colour every 6 weeks but need to track down a better curl cream and intense moisturising conditioner as very dry at the moment
I'm trying to create a more capsule wardrobe too but not going well as I'm a magpie sales shopper

Rockaby · 14/05/2017 08:16

That's a brilliant weight loss Jace! Well done you. I've been to one SW meeting, but I wasn't impressed with our local group. It's a shame, as I know lots of people who have had success with it. I think the unlimited potatoes could spell danger for me though!

I've all but given up on shampoo now, as my hair definitely looks and feels a lot better when I just use conditioner. I've tried a special co-wash, but actually think normal conditioner does a better job on my hair.

I'm trying very hard not to buy any more clothes after I kondoed my wardrobe. I keep reminding myself that I don't need anything, I just think I do.

I'm also getting sick of shaving my legs, so I might start booking a regular leg wax instead. I hate having bikini waxes though, so will keep on dealing with that myself.

OP posts:
littlejeopardy · 14/05/2017 14:35

Well done Jace, I am in awe! I can't imagine the work that must have taken.

Sunday is my weighing day and I have lost 2lbs this week, making 5lbs in total. Hoping that I continue on a slow and steady rate.

I've signed up to a beauty subscription box this week as well. I really need to replenish my make up but hard to go shopping for it with a toddling baby. So I am hoping this will give me some new goodies to update my look and anything that I don't use I am going to make into little gift hampers for Christmas presents.
