I can't find one on my pesky phone!

I'm happy to start one here if there isn't one running.

Today's to do list (putting it here to make myself accountable):

Meal plan for the week (back on the calorie counting with MFP)
Plan outfits for the week, make sure everything is clean and ironed, hang together to make mornings easier
Manicure - scrub and moisturise hands, cuticles, file and polish
Acid peel face

Plus usual shave legs, moisturise etc.

On it!

Had a good rummage through my bedroom today and found lots of nice toiletries/gift sets that I've had for Christmases and birthdays, so I've strategically dotted then round the house ( put hand cream in every bathroom for example, and in my handbag; nice body spray in my car) - seems like such a waste to have things hanging around unused so hopefully I shall use them more and be more princess like!

Rockaby · 01/05/2017 19:42

jemima, I'm starting to use mfp this week too. I have just put in all my meals for tomorrow and even with no snacks I'm just within my target. Clearly I eat a bit too much as it didn't seem a lot to me till I totted up the calories!

I like that idea newaverage. I might do the same, though I think I've used all my Xmas gifts already,

I'm slowly clearing out my wardrobe ATM. I want to be ruthless but am worried I'll be too over enthusiastic and get rid of too many clothes, (I have previous for this). I might just move them into my storage cupboards for now to see if I miss them in 6 months time.

Haircut done, need to use some product (wax/mousse) to texture it.
Intensive hair-pack and uber glam showercap overnight

I'm on oatmilk now rather than soya. Its ok but not as rich so..less coffee. (Has to be a bonus --just not feeling it)

Lots of water, raging hot flushes. I drink a few glasses at night which means night trips to the loo.

Pixi Glow Tonic - really nice

Went through my clothes and make-up, and jewellery. Really ruthless, culled a load.
Bought a few nice tops, long summer ones.

I'm not going to bother with spray tan this year. Not going on holiday Sad but I can make do with St Tropez mousse. The spray tan smelled like an old biscuit and went patchy after a few days .

Keeping on with castor oil on my brows , not been braze enough to use it on my eyelashes , but I might well try it.

JemimaMuddledUp · 01/05/2017 20:13

I know what you mean Rockaby I actually eat quite healthily, it's just I eat way too much of it!

Sticking to ready meals this week as a way of making sure my portion sizes are exactly what I'm logging. Scan the barcode into MFP and job done. Not very healthy long term and incredibly boring, but I need to shift this weight!

Good news - my nails are growing! Strengthener must be working. I never have long nails so this is great.

wickedgamestoplay · 01/05/2017 20:37

Hey ladies,

I do feel like I have good habits anyway but a couple of things I want to polish up on:-

  • no sugar mon - fri
  • no alcohol mon - thurs
  • gym 5 days a week
  • 2/3 litres water a day
  • trying to stay calm
  • making sure work finishes at closing time and stop stressing about it when I should be devoting time to children.
  • already have good skincare but think I will start looking into Botox, my friends have it and don't look weird as I thought they might.
  • sort brows out
littlejeopardy · 02/05/2017 06:51

Hi, please can I join? I turn 30 this Autumn and would like to feel more like me again. I had a baby last year and am nearly two stone heavier than my average weight. I am ready to tackle it. So here is the plan:

Do NHS Weight Loss 12 week program
Tracking with MFP
Go for a run three times a week when DH is putting DD to bed
Stay on top of hair appointments (currently three weeks overdue)
Go to bed early
Remove make up each night
Use up box of moisturisers and other beauty products currently boxed up.

I've booked a weekend away for my birthday and would love to have a really posh romantic dinner with DH, where I can get glammed up. That is my princess goal.

Teaandcake08 · 02/05/2017 10:00

Wow great work ladies! Not been doing so well here this week, dd1 has had awful tummy bug and dd2 is on a feeding frenzy (yawn)
Have used new nail envy after parcel arrived, can't wait to use the coloured ones once nails don't look so hideous!
Need to get back on exfoliating & moisturiser routine post shower but have been double cleansing every night and loving how much better my skin looks already!
Still need to try sort haircut...
70 is the castor oil on brows to make them grow? Curious as my have been patchy forever!

wickedgamestoplay · 02/05/2017 22:55

Botox booked in!!

Gym this morning

No sugar, 3 litres of h20 down

All good but have slipped and had 1 glass of wine with meal

littlejeopardy · 03/05/2017 10:02

Calorie counting was going well yesterday until DH brought a piece of Rocky Road home from work after his colleague very kindly put it aside for me. I thought it would be rude not to!

Tried to make up for it this morning with a really long walk and play session in the park with DD.

Tonight I am going to have a long bath and pamper session.

Rockaby · 03/05/2017 10:10

Oh exciting wicked! Let us know how it goes.

little, it would definitely have been rude not to Wink. My calorie counting is going ok... I'm finding it hard to use the mfp app sometimes. Is it just me, or is it a little bit fiddly?

Otherwise all ok here. I'm still eating fairly healthily, no booze and plenty of green tea and water. Still no exercise though!

OP posts:
thenewaveragebear1983 · 03/05/2017 11:24

I'm doing ok- noticed this morning that my feet look nice and soft after a week or do of moisturising and pumicing.

I've been using plain witch hazel on my skin as I have read online that it can help with little thread veins which I have on my cheeks. It seems to as well be having a positive effect on my pores, especially those on the sides on my nose. Not a huge impact on the veins though!

I've done my lumea twice in my face, supposed to be once a week at first but I can't see any improvement yet of course
On the while the duet is going well except there's still Easter chocolate lying around and occasionally I can't help myself.

Not managed any exercise exactly but I've been really busy in the garden the last few days and I ache today! That must count surely?!

AvoidingCallenetics · 03/05/2017 14:05

Can I join?
Main aim is to lose weight and re start exercise. My rules are that I will only eat when I am actually hungry, instead of nibbling biscuits all day and that everything I eat has to be good for me!
Also would like to put some effort into making my hair look nice. As it is, it is clean and brushed but could do with some actual styling!

Pretty good at moisturising everyday, doing nails, epilating and getting brows threaded. Still don't look very groomed though - am one of those wonen who always looks a bit scruffy, even when I iron everything!

Will also look at youtube for some make up tips. Mine is okay but not great.

Rockaby · 03/05/2017 16:11

Yes of course, welcome avoiding!

I like your plan re diet. I could definitely do with doing the same as I am a terrible nibbler.

OP posts:
NotJanine · 03/05/2017 16:26

Can I join too please. I'm late 40s, mid divorce, had a really horrible time of it lately and feeling old, scruffy and invisible.

I already don't drink or smoke and I go to the gym regularly. I need to get more sleep and pamper myself more.

I have ordered an IPL for legs, bikini line, armpits and face. Got my eyebrows threaded; quick, pretty much painless and a lot cheaper than waxing which I've had done in the past.

I rarely wear make up and don't really know how to. If I try to put any more than a bit of mascara and pale lipstick on I look like a clown,

Rockaby · 03/05/2017 16:31

Welcome to you too notjanine!

Ok so I have not got calorie counting down to an exact science at all. I made a stew in the slow cooker but didn't measure the ingredients or weigh my portion at the end. So not sure what the calorie count was at all. So yeah, I agree rockabye MFP is a bit fiddly to and their measurements confuse me a lot of the time.

But I am eating less and I haven't drank any pop all week. So hopefully I am making some progress.

I bought some new make up yesterday, a new sharp razor and Pond's cold cream to cleanse with each evening. I really loved the boots own cold cream but the lady said it was being discontinued. Sad

Rockaby · 05/05/2017 10:00

Glad it isn't just me then littlejeopardy!

I can't seem to shake this horrible head cold, so ended up having a hot whisky yesterday. It did help the cold in fairness Grin.

Diet is going ok otherwise. I have it back a lot on meat, dairy and sugar. We have a family bike ride planned for tomorrow too. I have totally Kondo'ed my wardrobe and am working on underwear too. I'm thinking of going underwear shopping over the weekend. I have no sexy pants which it over my large bottom Blush. I know I should be working on the bottom too, though in the meantime, maybe nice new pants would make me feel better.

OP posts:
littlejeopardy · 05/05/2017 10:42

I think real Princesses drink whisky as a daily night cap. And nothing but a hot toddy helps me when I have a cold so cheers!

Nice pants do make you feel better! Plus a big bottom can look rather nice in good pants. I even know a girl who photoshoot her instagram photos to give herself a bigger bottom! Hmm she does have issues though.

littlejeopardy · 05/05/2017 10:42

That should be photoshops not photoshoot

Rockaby · 05/05/2017 11:10

Cheers to that little (not really - it's a little early, even for medicinal purposes)!

OP posts:
princessbear80 · 05/05/2017 13:49

Hi all, please can I join you? I've been reading the thread since it started, thinking what good ideas you all have, but haven't actually put anything into action myself! So I'm hoping if I join it might give me the extra kick up the backside I need. My cousin's wedding is 4 weeks today, and I could really do with some princessing to get myself ready.
Main things I need to concentrate on are sorting out my skin (body, face is fine) so more exfoliation, daily moisturing, and tons more water. Could also do with shifting a stone but have probably left it to late, I'm hoping no cakes, biscuits, puddings etc (I eat a lot of these!)will make a difference, along with exercise 3x a week.
Any advice on self tan? I've got some of that gradual St Tropez, how long before the event should I start using it?
Thanks! Smile

Rockaby · 07/05/2017 10:07

Hi princess! Of course, you're v welcome to join. The more, the merrier.

I've never used the St Tropez gradual tanner, but I've used others for weddings. I usually start on the week of the wedding, so if it's on a Saturday I start on the Monday or Tuesday and apply daily.

I finally forced myself to do some exercise! I did a Davina DVD which I found really hard actually, but that's probably because I haven't done any proper exercise for weeks. Diet is going ok, but could be better... I'm just making my own kimchi, which I hear is very good for you, so here's hoping!

DH has taken DD swimming, so I might try some princessing now. Maybe defuzz, a bit more exercise and file feet.

Hope everyone is having nice weekends and gearing up for a princessy week Wink!

OP posts:
thenewaveragebear1983 · 07/05/2017 17:18

I used the in shower one last year and I was very impressed, and I am not a fake tan kinda gal. It's a lot more gradual than some of the lotions so builds up nicely and didn't streak.

Very unprincessy today- gardening all day so I'm dusty and grubby now. I've got that nice sun-weary feel though, it's been glorious here. Bath and a pamper tonight if I can!

Karcheer · 07/05/2017 20:05

Hello,

Can I join? I really need this thread, but I'm dreadful at keeping these up (I've tried lots of times before)!

I've lots of personal stuff going on and I think it's starting to really take its toll. Firstly I feel really tired and I'm finding that if I can get out of things I'll spend the day watching Netflix!
I'm not eating very well (not much fruit or veg, lots of crisps and chocolate).
I'm wearing my hair pulled back and little make up unless I have to, and my skins in dreadful condition.
Don't know the last time I did any exercise although I do walk the dogs twice a day, although their morning walk is much shorter than it used to be and I feel guilt of that.

Anyway that's that.

  1. finish 12 day bootea detox that I started ages ago (mainly to get rid of the box)
  2. use up the David kirsch detox stuff (again that's part used)
  3. take vitd, omega3, multi vit.
  4. eat 5 a day
  5. drink more water
  6. no fizzy drink, crisps or chocolate
  7. go to the gym at least twice this week.
  8. use hair treatment
  9. get eyebrows tidied up, get nails and feet redone.
  10. go to bed at 10.

Ok that's enough for this week! Might add more if I make good progress...
