Hyperventilating.....god yes please, Crem. I bloomin' love your travel writing - I have the imagination of a peanut but I can really visualise the places you describe. Thanks muchly for the spreadsheet. BH task - sort finances and food planning or at least one of them

(I am happy to upload the odd file if anyone can't do it)

Herbs - will see if I can get to the Madeleine - cannot make Notre Dame I'm afraid.

bigTillyMint · 27/04/2017 19:49

Cremo, I am looking hopefully at Air bnb's around Argeles/Coullioure (and very cheap flights!) but I don't know if we dare book one yet, or if we should wait and do a much more last minute hol to whereverConfused

Cremolafoam · 27/04/2017 20:05

Okydoke will do a bit of uploading to the Crepeweb, tomorrow as am still housebound and banned from driving because of eye.
BTM have you dates , even ballpark ones and I will look oyb. Is it the 4 of you or just you and dh?
I have already booked Collioure for us in Sept and am going to plan a bit of a holiday for dh and myself. We have a friend on the Catalan coast so will zip direct to Girona I think. Where would you fly to BTM -Perpignan ?

Waf , you ok?

Cremo, we are pretty flexible - I am thinking 1st Aug ish for a week to 10 days for the 4 of us. But that will depend on DS's health remaining stable at least. I was looking to fly into Perpignan, but again, we are flexible.
We want self-catering, but close to somewhere with places to eat out/things to do and preferably with a pool. Not asking for much!

But we may decide to not book anything till much nearer the time so we feel more confident re DS's health IYSWIM, so please do not go to any troubleSmile

Herbs, re Paris, definitely the Jardin d'Acclimatation. It is a very gentle theme park with lots of interesting animals. Mine used to love it when they were little. Also maybe the Batobus, so you can see Paris from the river? Also the carousel by the Eiffel Tower? As he is train obsessed, get the metro line that goes over the Seine? Can't remember what line it is (6?) but it goes near Passy. If you want to indulge the train fetish, he will like the RER train as it is double decker. Ice cream from Bertillon on the Ile St Louis. Although the metro ride from Etoile to the Jardin d'Acclimatation is also quite scenic (and you can get a little train through the woods there from Porte Maillot).

You can get calendars of the Paris Pompiers. I used to walk to work in the mornings through Parc Monceau where they all used to train.

Mummy Dearest finally phoned the doctor, got an appointment, more drugs and confirmation that her alarming symptoms were a side effect from the drugs.

bigTillyMint · 27/04/2017 21:08

Yes Lalsy, I have been thinking/looking at that, but I need to look at flights/hol combined I think...

CointreauVersial · 27/04/2017 21:19

Wow, you've been busy. CrepeWeb, eh?! Will PM Lalsy so I can gain access to this wonderousness.

wordassociationfootball · 27/04/2017 22:11

Thanks Crem. Much better today. Had a full Thai meal (actual, not metaphor) of elderly parent woe swapping with bff during which we allowed ourselves to be quite horrible and I woke up full of love having sloughed off some neg build up.

Are your increased meds making any diff?

Lalsy thank you for the one drive thing and the pm. DDS think I have just done the best supermarket shop ever cos I scored Fab style lollies and vegetarian fish fingers. Wish it was an hour earlier so I could have a long read of my Liane Moriarty. Big Little Lies if you're interested.

Sleep well Crepies. I ought to as just done Pilates. Teacher has developed annoying habit of coming round and poking us in our lazier hamstring. Makes me shriek.

motherinferior · 27/04/2017 22:14

I am not hog-whimpering wild about one drive...but do have it. Am otherwise a Dropbox gal.

Lalsy · 27/04/2017 22:25

I use DB normally, MI, and love it - but for various reason OD was easier for this. You don't need OneDrive to see the files - you just get a link to click on.

WAF - I am quaking at the thought of being poked in lazy muscles - I would be black and blue!

MrsS, glad Dearest Mamma has got herself the teeniest bit sorted.

Lalsy · 27/04/2017 23:06

Oooh isn't Masterchef Faye marvellous?

Dreamqueen · 28/04/2017 06:30

I post on here very seldom but keep up (don't feel I have much input to add0 but if possible Cremo I would like your guide to Tropea and Calabria. we are booked there for begining of July.

Dreamqueen · 28/04/2017 06:30

Hope that isn't a cheeky request?

Lalsy · 28/04/2017 07:39

Hi dream, not at all, I will PM you!

Stropperella · 28/04/2017 09:15

Crem, you need to monetise your talents! Set up a Crem's Dream Tours website Grin

Lovely Lalsy, please may I have a linky to CrepeWeb?

Stropperella · 28/04/2017 09:17

Herbs, have a splendiferous weekend and don't forget to take an extra handbag full of tissues to the performances :)

Stropperella · 28/04/2017 09:20

I am off to teach in case study school and will then visit my professional practice tutor at her school. Driving lots of miles. Again. But once I get today over with, I am having a whole weekend off academic work and driving long distances. As the rest of the term is looking rather punishing, one way and another.

Dreamqueen · 28/04/2017 09:24

Thank you Laisy

Blackduck · 28/04/2017 10:21

Just had a job interview. Don't care if I don't get it (that will be down to who I'm up against). Just feel I acquitted myself really well and feel so much better about myself Grin

hattymattie · 28/04/2017 10:42

Hello to Dreamqueen.Smile

BD - great news about the job interview. It is always horrible to come out and think "I should have said this or that". At least you know you gave it your best shot. Now it's down to others, internal politics, luck etc. Good luck and keeping fingers crossed for you.

I'm going to lunch with a friend so feeling happy. Long weekend here. Am very annoyed about speaker system that we got for my birthday, which isn't compatible with our internet. Fuckety fuck - why does nothing like this ever work for us. We could take them back but it will entail a long argument with the shop (this being France). DH has found a convoluted way of making them work but it was supposed to be "press this song on my playlist" and it comes on like magic. No such bloody luck. I wish I had my radio cassette player still (old fogey emoticon) - life seemed so much simpler before.

magimedi · 28/04/2017 10:58

Am sure you have plenty to add, DreamQueen. Lots of what I post is utterly trivial! (Anyone can tell me to shut up whenever they want!).

Pleased to hear the interview went well, BD. Great confidence boost.

Hatty, am with you on the old fogey bench. Am sure life was much easier before all the things that were meant to make it easier.

Been in the garden all morning & we are going out to lunch to local steak house that does a great lunchtime deal - steak, chips & salad for £8. Lovely Irish beef.

My trivia for today is from the paper - you know how there is always a bible quote above hatch, match & dispatch? (Are they coded messages for spies?) Was idly glancing at it over breakfast & loved this one:

"Grey hair is a crown of splendour; it is attained in the way of righteousness".

Proverbs 16.31 (NIV)

Cremolafoam · 28/04/2017 11:02

Hi DQ , I will of course attach again for you. It was mostly about accommodation, rather than a travel guide, I think, but see if it's any use to you.
It'll be after lunch, when I have a minute to dig it out.

Bd, that's brave and brilliant. Good for you.Flowers a Dark and Stormy will be yours tonight.Grin🍹

Herbs I am very excited for you. Seems such an honour to be performing in Notre Dame. How wonderful . Hope it goes really well and ds is appropriately angelic.Halo

Am frustrated by not being able to garden or do online Pilates class (no bending because of pressure on eyeball or some such) make take self out for bracing walk.
