Ps Herbs singing in Paris...how wonderful. Envy re snoring...have you got a spare room.......???

motherinferior · 27/04/2017 12:54

It was just a mention, Rose, not something other people have been planning, honestly!

herbaceous · 27/04/2017 12:56

Rose - what is your austerity regime? I've taken to bringing a Nutribulleted smoothy for breakfast, but then it all goes wrong when I have school dinners. Though no pud.

I didn't know about this MU either, until someone mentioned it a few posts ago. But I like to think it's because I'm forgetful rather than a conspiracy...

herbaceous · 27/04/2017 13:07

We don't have a spare room, no. I spent a number of hours last night lamenting that fact.

Rosebag · 27/04/2017 13:26

Oh no...I'm not in the least miffed or FOMO'd. Can't easily do Fri nights anyway. I am very embarrassed that a few months ago I had to google "dark and stormy" Blush not knowing what it meant.

Herbs I stick broadly to a SW type eating plan. I find that protein only in the morning stops me being hungry. I try to stay away from bread. In truth all it means is no cake no scones (more's the pity), no sarnies, no sweets and chocolates randomly. Tend to have more carbs at supper time. Loads of fruit, ...apples really do stem the appetite, and lots of eggs. I am always close to lapsing...I just reach a tipping point, usually because I have seen an unflattering photo of myself or my clothes are just too tight.

magimedi · 27/04/2017 13:59

Rose - am about to send you a pm.

motherinferior · 27/04/2017 14:42

I have just purchased two (2, ii) red Hello Rabbis at a discount off Brastop. AngryAngry, as it were.

wordassociationfootball · 27/04/2017 14:48

Great use of Angry MI!

"I'm not in the least miffed or FOMO'd" Rose - great verbal spannage. From the 1930s to the 20 teens!

Lalsy · 27/04/2017 15:24

Oh, MI, top marks for emoticon use!! You have brought some joy to my sofa.

As have you, Magi with your lists of wonder. They are all now amalgamated on the shared folder (in word and pdf, so hope everyone can access). Anyone who needs the link, PM me.

Aw re ds2, Rose.

WAF, delighted to hear your engine is roaring. I feel a bit like your BBH - rotating slowly.....Smile

magimedi · 27/04/2017 15:28

Lalsy, I am impressed by how quickly you did that!!

bigTillyMint · 27/04/2017 15:31

Herbs, how lovely. The singing, not the snoring, obvs!

MrsW that dress is very nice - must browse the site later.

MrsS, sorry it's a shit week - we will deffo still be there at 6 to cheer you up.

Joe Wicks has been popping up on my FB for over a year and I have his book but have done nothing about itBlush Although we do most of the HIIT moves at citrcuits.

And I am stuffing chocs from a mum who is very pleased with how much happier her child is now Blush

Lalsy · 27/04/2017 15:37

Wanted a little sit down, Magi Grin.

I do HIIT type circuits, Crem, at the gym. I like them but am not sure I would motivate myself without being yelled at. Indeed, I don't when the instructor with the quiet voice is on duty,.... I really enjoy them and love the fact it is only half an hour and afterwards you feel so pleased with yourself! I did Shred a bit at home for a while which is also short, intense, different activities and I know addle likes it.

Cremolafoam · 27/04/2017 15:52

Herbs I was thinking about le Jardin D'Acclimatation and looked it up, and they have musical events for kids at the weekend http://quefaire.paris.fr/18948/la-musique-au-jardin
Also a superhero exhibition of DC comic art here
A living exhibition ( firemen included) of the Paris pompiers 🚒 or fire-people. It might be dry, or it might be interesting enough for a boy who likes trucks and so on and a mummy who likes a naive looking French fireman. Mon Dieu madame! nenawnenaw

Hi Rose (and others) no planned MU, but I'm in London and I chuck it out there if someone/everyone wants a quick D'n'S with me before I head home for a curry with Ddad. All welcome

magimedi · 27/04/2017 16:48

Looking through Lalsy's well produced doc of my list I realise that I have forgotten one of my favourite easy dishes.

I'll put it here & maybe Lalsy can copy & paste it onto the list. Flowers

Butter beans & Bacon (for 2 people).

I tin butter beans, drained & rinsed.

Half a pint of cheese sauce made with a good strong cheddar + a tsp of Dijon mustard.

6 (or so) thin cut rashers of streaky bacon.

Heat the butter beans in the cheese sauce until piping hot. Put them in a flat ovenproof dish (or a couple of of individual chafing dishes) , put the bacon on top & put under the grill until the bacon is done - less than 5 mins.

Serve with crusty bread and/or salad.

V calorific, v easy & v comforting. A British tartiflette??

hattymattie · 27/04/2017 16:55

Herbs - is quite chilly here at the moment - basically the same as London so be prepared. I second the Jardin d'acclimatisation although there is a lot of walking involved. Would DS not like to do something traditionally touristy - like the Eiffel Tower? That's one to talk about at school. A nice walk on a Sunday is Hotel de Ville to Place des Voges down rue des francs bougeois. You can get some falafel to eat.

When is he singing? Can the general public go?

Mrs W- I loved the dress too - I don't know that firm at all. Lots of interesting stuff.

Rose - you are not alone - I also had to google D&S.

I have eaten nothing but carbs this week - I think the alternating warm/cold weather is doing it. I have consumed much toast and pasta so back to square one with the attempt to have a flat stomach.

IDismyname · 27/04/2017 17:07

MM - You've solved tonights dilemma. I have all ingredients to hand.

Sorry not to add a link earlier - here it is:

Bombshell Dress

IDismyname · 27/04/2017 17:07

MrsW - That dress is absolutely stunning.

herbaceous · 27/04/2017 17:19

Be still my beating heart, Crem! Firemen, you say? If there's one thing better than a fireman it's a French fireman. And DS is obsessed, obsessed I say, with emergency services. AND the expo is right next to Notre Dame, meaning it was meant to be.

Hattie - the concerts are both open to the public. Concert at Le Madeleine at 4 on Saturday, and mass at Notre Dame at 11 on Sunday. And free, I'd imagine!

Rosebag · 27/04/2017 17:35

This Hello Rabbi has become a thing.... these days my bras look much more like Hello Monk Who Has Taken a Vow of Chastity...

Thanks MM for all the emails!

I've browsed those Bombshell dresses before. They are the last word. I don't do well with wrap dresses though...they gape open at the bust as whilst no shortage of tits hereabouts, they're not pert enough to keep it all together and tend too migrate sideways. Hmm But I am sorely tempted when another function demands a bit of dress shopping.....

Rosebag · 27/04/2017 17:36

Herbs you are going to be one proud Mama

IDismyname · 27/04/2017 17:53

I think thats what I'm concerned about Rose - I'm not a great cleavage type of gal, and wonder if Im not going to feel too self conscious in one.

Maybe I'll go and have a look on Pinterest, and see if there are any examples on 'real' people...

motherinferior · 27/04/2017 18:00

I WANT A RED BOMBSHELL!!

Lalsy · 27/04/2017 18:32

Done, Magi Smile.

Cloud, sounds like maybe order one assuming you will send it back and then see when it comes if it changes your mind?

Just finished S-town - has anyone else been listening?

Cremolafoam · 27/04/2017 18:39

Dsis has brought me round the Joe Wicks book, so am going to give it a go for a week , and if I am still alive, se whether to join up at that point. Just need to be sure there are enough carbs to keep me alive. Can't do with none.

MM all the recipes and food is wonderful. thanks so much.

Budgeting excel doc is now on the Onedrive. I had to invent a profile to post it. I am not on these things as a matter of course and utterly refuse to link things online. I know, I'm a bit nuts.
