Blimey Herbs. Well done. And with the exhaustion of a 2 day hangover.

Love enraged but ineffectual, CV. Should probably have that on my tombstone.

Congrats Rose but it must feel most odd. Echo MI's sentiments.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 08/05/2017 20:27

Evening all,
Lovely lovely lovely to see Mrs S and Molly at literary event last night (FB has the details...). I have a mad creepy crush on one f the speakers - Deborah Levy who was magnificently Crepey - very clever, slightly mad eccentric and hilariously witty. magnificent. The other speakers weren't bad either! Thank you so much for coming ladies and sorry you couldn't make it MI. Sorry you're having a miserable time.

Auriga, near miss sounds awful - something similar happened to us a few weeks ago - car stopped inches from crashing into my side of the car at a roundabout - he was clearly in the wrong rather than dh which sort of made it better but still very frightening.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 08/05/2017 20:28

Herbs, respect for the class survival in the face of teenage awfulness. A 2 day hangover is not funny at your age.

Blackduck · 08/05/2017 20:47

Rose Flowers and a big {{}}. - I guess that must be really hard. Take your time to digest the news.

Herbs what you describe is precisely why I left teaching! (And as a drama teacher I didn't even have them behind desks :) )

French vote was heartening, the comments by Frange and the leaver campaigners less so.....

GiddyGiddyGoat · 08/05/2017 20:53

I forgot a {{{{ }}}} and some Flowers for you Rose.

Cremolafoam · 08/05/2017 21:26

Hello from sick bay Crepeys. Have been in bed with Brian for several days. EnvySadEnvy
Very shaky and sick. Just came over me on Saturday.

Rose pet, that's so much to absorb. Start of new era? Be gentile with your self.

Auriga -holy Moses, that must have been quite awful. I hope the shock is starting to fade now.

Herbs I am so sorry you are having a wretched time with the scary big kids. I have a fair bit of experience with community arts and working with terrible teenagers. It's not easy I know. Flowers what does the disappearing teacher think he's at? Tosser.

Lalsy · 08/05/2017 21:57

Crem, oh no, just what you don't need. Are you feeling any better today?

BD, I know, they are so rude apart from anything else. Can we send a message in a bottle to France or something, saying we are not all like that?

BeachysSandyFlipflops · 08/05/2017 22:03

Jesus, the concept of putting a wash on, exams or not, is a complete anathema to mine.....

We are OK here, we have been buying crystals and have cancelled therapy Hmm

Auriga · 08/05/2017 22:06

Sorry you're ill again Crem. Get well soon Flowers

DH's eye test shows a visual field defect but it probably doesn't explain anything. He's having it repeated next week and in the meantime I will do as much of the driving as I can.

Sorry to miss the literary event, sounds interesting. Would anyone be up for a Liars' League some time soon?

GiddyGiddyGoat · 08/05/2017 22:16

Doh! Auriga, I'm sorry, I forgot you weren't on FB atm or I would have PMed you. Didn't mean to leave you out. Definitely interested in Liar's League outing... Where? When?

GiddyGiddyGoat · 08/05/2017 22:17

And Poor You Crem. Hope Brian is soon a distant memory and is back in the cupboard.

magimedi · 08/05/2017 22:36

Crem - hope you are feeling a bit better by now - I know just how draining all these never ending minor illnesses are.

Rose - I hope in a few days you can enjoy the release of your discharge. Flowers

Herbs - respect - I'd almost certainly slap 'em!!

MI - have you made an appointment to have iron/thyroid/vit D checked?

Auriga · 08/05/2017 22:44

www.liarsleague.com/liars_league/forthcoming-events-themes.html

There's actually one tomorrow. I'd like to go but only if I feel quite a bit better than I have today. Otherwise the June one should be possible.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 08/05/2017 23:28

Can't do tomorrow Auriga but would love to go to the June one.

Blackduck · 09/05/2017 05:53

Beachy crystals? Soda, meth, or shiny stones?

Crem hope you are better today.

Montypulciano · 09/05/2017 06:38

Hello! Just nipping on. All well but I am very busy. Roll on June 1st when things get a bit calmer.

Love to you, Rose. That must be a lot to take on. I hope you will feel better this morning after some sleep Flowers

Crem, hope Brian has been stashed away again.

Sorry I missed the anniversary, Mi. Be gentle to yourself. It is still relatively early days.

Mrs S, what a fab accolade that colleagues are lining up to work for you. Goes some way to compensating for some of your less than lovely colleagues.

Thinking of all those with exam taking children, esp BTM, Rudy and Beachy.

Will pop back when I can. Afternoon off tomorrow to get L braces fitted. She is quite excited. I suspect she will be less so once the ortho drills into her what she mustn't eat....

Love to you all.

motherinferior · 09/05/2017 10:10

I haven't yet, Magi, as I know I should get through this week first but am necking the many iron supplements we have around the place for DD1.

herbaceous · 09/05/2017 10:50

Colleague/boss not in again today. And the have to teach the same Little Shits, thankfully only for one period. I have asked for support, and said i can't cope and feel in danger, but was merely offered 'someone dropping by'. Thanks. Thanks a lot.

Cremolafoam · 09/05/2017 11:16

Oh Herbs.it should not have to be that way. Can you get them excluded, the dangerous brothers?

Still saying a bit here. Managed a nights sleep so that's good. Of to dads best friend's funeral. Just awful for him. Sad (friend died very suddenly.)

Strong and stable crepeys for the many not the few? Grin

BeachysSandyFlipflops · 09/05/2017 12:28

Herbs, that's really not helpful. Make sure you make a note of all the solo lessons (are you supposed to be doing solo lessons at all?)

Crem, I hope Brian can be put away for a bit...and that the funeral isn't too bad.

Glass crystals, BD.... we are moving towards complementary therapies more, which I think shows that he's reaching out to help himself a bit which can only be a good thing...

Cloud, while you are catering for your non-fisherman, we should grab a walk?

Beautiful weather here, so gardening. Blissful Smile

Blackduck · 09/05/2017 16:06

As you say Beachy at least it's showing some desire to take control.

I am dealing with difficult (entitled) students and equally difficult (and even more entitled) academics.....

herbaceous · 09/05/2017 16:13

Re thread - coalition of crepey chaos?

Re hideous teens, I survived! The fiercest SLT members dropped in four times during my lesson, I ruled with a rod of iron, gave them targets (could you just sit there for three minutes without hitting someone), and praised anyone doing any work to the skies. There are some sweet children in the class, and they deserve to be able to get work done. It was almost 'good'.

The lesson before I'd been with the bottom set year 10 English group, with a supply teacher. Oh. My. Days. Utter bastards. I don't think the atmosphere of the school is helped by there being twice as many boys as girls. Gets a bit testosterone - y.

Talking of which, taking darling Jerry to have his knackers off tomorrow. He's been trying to get it on with Margot.
