Quick vote: silver converse, yay or nay?

Have been eyeing these silver converse for a while, and now they're slightly reduced.

Am I too old for them? (I'm 42). Or are they a bit naff whatever your age? Or shall I buy them? Help me decide, please!

I might put one of my gold ones and one of my silver ones on....that's more try hard than you BitOutofPractice

Daft question, what socks with Converse or do you risk a smelly shoe?

I wear those foot liner things. You can get them at H&M or Next.

Primark (Penneys in Ireland) do little footsie socks in cotton. The M&S ones are synthetic and are a bugger for slipping off inside shoes (based on my experience). You all look fabulous in your Converse btw

On the strength of this thread I ordered silver Superga.
They'll be going back sadly; too wide and too shiny. I ordered a UK 7 and it's been converted to a 41 but I think even if I exchanged for a 40 they'd still be more suitable for wide feet.

I have these and I'm 53. Love them. Wore them to go out on Mother's Day - but only to chuck a rugby ball around on the (pebble) beach with my children. Think this is my 3rd pair of silver ones. I find them incredibly comfortable, refuse to wear trainers except for sport and they so trump Superga.

I haven't got them yet :-( Theyre on their way, though, apparently, so I'll report back when they arrive. Which will hopefully be in time to wear them before this lovely sunny weather disappears.

I have ordered a pair too today. I've had to promise OH that I will sell a couple of my vintage dresses to pay for them, hence my thread on here earlier!

I have metallic pink ones which I love and have been eyeing up some sequin ones.

The silver Superga arrived today and are just too heavy and uncomfortable for me sadly so they are going back. I'm keeping the book though.

I still like the idea of silver trainers though. I've seen some nice Adidas ones.

dave, I don't think so, but then again the other pair I've been wearing recently is leather too, so I've nothing really to compare to

Slightly off topic but I love converse, hate the laces. Went online and googled as I like my dainty ballet converse with the elastic
Found these https://www.synchbands.com and bought some. Basically elastic laces so no knots or sticky out bits!

They're fab! I bought off eBay as the postage was cheaper and my converse are a 7 and I went for medium
