Have been eyeing these silver converse for a while, and now they're slightly reduced.

Am I too old for them? (I'm 42). Or are they a bit naff whatever your age? Or shall I buy them? Help me decide, please!

You're not helping yourself, Lakehouse. Dislike a pair of shoes if you like, that's fine, but if you honestly 'wouldn't leave the house' with somebody because of their choice of footwear, you probably need to rethink your attitude. Why on earth would you care? Are your 'friends' actually your fashion accessories?

MsUnderstanding · 24/03/2017 22:37

What do you wear then lakehouse?

Doobigetta · 24/03/2017 22:43

Maybe lakehouse is one of those types who thinks it's necessary to wear five inch heels for an afternoon shopping. In which case I'm fine with her not liking my style.

MsUnderstanding · 24/03/2017 22:55

You wanted pictures. This is me.

Mid 40's, I wear purple converse. Someone said they do pewter, pewter!!! I have neeeeeeed!

OvariesBeforeBrovaries · 24/03/2017 23:00

My whole family wore Converse to my wedding, from my parents in their 40s down to 2-year-old DD. We looked amazing. Never too old or too young for Converse.

I like those but I'll probably go for the cheap Dunlop ones, £15 instead of over £60 Shock

taybert · 25/03/2017 07:09

There will be a thread next week where someone calls converse mumsy or something. Whatever. Judging people on their brand of trainers is something teenagers in the 90s did. I didn't do it then and I don't do it now.

BitOutOfPractice · 25/03/2017 08:20

When you grow up lakehouse youll realise just how stupid that attitude is

So, I'm 49. What do you think I should wear on my feet? Do advise us poor befuddle "middle aged" souls

TondelayaDellaVentamiglia · 25/03/2017 08:29

isn't it lovely that someone so ignorant is allowed to use the internet?

I expect Lakehouse like crocs.

skippy67 · 25/03/2017 08:37

My 16yo dd has silver converse. I have 4 pairs in various colours. Most of her friends wear the all black converse, but the high top version. So ime teens love 'em. And Lakehouse, stop chatting shit.

Kr1stina · 25/03/2017 08:54

My teenagers ( boys and girls ) all wear converse.

Which is why I wear superga, not to embarrass them. No I'm lying , it's just because I find superga more comfortable. And I don't care about enbarassing my teens.

Besides they need to learn not to judge people by what they wear.

Weebleswobbles · 25/03/2017 14:50

Love them! I have just ordered these in the sale

misscockerspaniel · 25/03/2017 15:41

Lakehouse can you tell us your age and what you wear on your feet?

BitOutOfPractice · 25/03/2017 17:40

I've asked lake to tell me what I should wear on my feet at a middle aged person

BestIsWest · 25/03/2017 19:20

Oops, the silver Superga just fell into my Amazon basket along with some books. I couldn't find any to try on in the shops today but there are free returns.

Bluntness100 · 25/03/2017 19:27

Here's Rene zellweger being all desperate and middle aged in hers too.

That is exactly what I was wearing today! Except I had trainers on not Converse. In my mind I looked just like that .

IHaveBrilloHair · 26/03/2017 07:51

I was dressed like that yesterday, except the Converse were pink.
I'm wearing silver sequin high top ones today.
My teenager loves them too, she has a Gorillaz pair

BeanSprout79 · 26/03/2017 08:13

Yep, absolutely love Converse, go for it Smile

ChristopherWren · 26/03/2017 08:38

Am feeling a bit low today as it's Mother's Day and this thread has cheered me up. In my early 50s and thought I'd look a bit desperate in Converse but you've all made me feel that perhaps I could wear them after all. Thank you xx

Kr1stina · 26/03/2017 09:04

Go for it Christopher !

SomewhereNow · 26/03/2017 09:25

Yep definitely go for it Christopher, it's hard to feel sad in sparkly shoes Grin.

Seriously they make me feel youthful but not try-hard (despite opinions to the contrary), go with literally everything and with the amount of colours and styles available you're bound to find something you love.
Let us know how you get on.

weaselwords · 26/03/2017 09:41

You are all bad people and now I have bought a pair of silver converse.

Shiny shiny! Grin

BitOutOfPractice · 26/03/2017 11:33

Here's my embarrassing, try hard, frumpy middle aged feet. Going out for Mother's Day cake
