J-Lo Glow. I can't stop sniffing myself. Any surprise perfume successes?

I'm a bit of a perfume junkie, and I like reading perfume reviews. I kept reading about how JLo Glow was surprisingly nice, so when I went into town on Monday I got a sample strip.

Got halfway up the road from the shop and turned back. Had to buy it. Couldn't stop sniffing the strip!

It was £20! Which means I'm quite happy to splash it all over and save my 'naice' perfume for best and in the case of Joy for never - what was I thinking?

Any other surprise hits out there that I should watch for?

Jo Malone is very emperor's new clothes IMO. It's all in the hype and the packaging.

If you like citrussy, green perfumes then Yardley Jade is almost exactly like Annick Goutal Eau du Sud but about £40 cheaper. I have both and the only real difference is the AG lasts longer. Some say Jade is like Cristalle (Chanel) but I find it sharper, and so more like the EdS.

PP dupes are pretty good in the main.

I actually really love Kim Kardashian's first perfume - can't remember what it's called. It's the only one I get complimented on & I'm always embarrassed when I have to say what it is!

Colleen Rooney had a lovely fragrance - is it still available?

I wear Arianna Grande during the day. It smells beautiful.

Came on to say that the original 'Naomi Campbell' by Naomi Campbell is lovely (proper bourbon vanilla smell) and 'Red Door Revealed' is very pretty, and much complimented. But see both are discontinued and prices creeping on ebay. Going to buy spares while they're still reasonable. Glad I looked!
Agree that Stash smells expensive niche-like. I'm hoping it will drop to 'Lovely' price ranges once the initial excitement is over.
I can't get excited about Jo Malone either.

I've just bought SJP Lovely on Amazon Prime Now on the basis of this thread (and needing to get to £20 min spend to get my milk and bread delivered!).

I shall come back and blame you all if I don't like it.

With the perfume parlour, which is it that you go for, the roll on or the spray?

DH bought me Paco Rabanne Lady Million for my birthday and I love it...but not as much as I love CK Euphoria (inlaws buy me this )

My favourite summer everyday perfume is J-Lo Live. Christina Aguilera is also lovely. Armani Code is my special summer perfume - it was my wedding perfume

I'm going to try some of those recommended

Stumbly Did you check if it's one of the fakes that have been selling on amazon? Several customers in the reviews have returned as they suspected they were fake perfume.

I am tempted by SJP after this thread!

I like the scent, but it ends up giving me a headache.

I ordered SJp lovely from Amazon after reading about it on here , I love it ! Not as much as my mitsouko or cuir de Russi but it's really gorgeous and smells much more expensive! Just bought a huge bottle of worth Je Reviens too for £15 , the aldehyde note is similar to no 5 , takes me back to 80s . I love it but my daughter hates it ! I need to buy more cheap perfumes as my taste is far too expensive for my budget :(

I kept smelling a lovely perfume on various people, and whenever I asked, it was always SJP. I got a big bottle bought for me and was delighted...........until I put it on.

It was genuine (from Boots), but it reacts to something in my skin and smells like cats piss on me. I was SO gutted, I ended up giving the bottle to my sis. I try the tester out regularly when i'm in shops that sell perfume, but unfortunately nothing changes

Just ordered Katy Perry meow and purr on Amazon Prime cos of you lot.

I don't need any perfume and don't care what they smell like I just neeeed cat shaped perfume bottles.

I was never so let down by hype than when I smelled Jo Malone perfumes for the first time.
Every magazine was writing about their wonderful scents.
Lime, Basil and Mandarin - just awful.
It smells like 'gone off' perfume.

Later they brought out Pomegranate Noir - ghastly.

Ted Bakers Polly
Abercrombie and Fitch No. 8 is great too.
Rituals Yin- divine but doesn't last, sadly.
Avon Far Away- a warm, sexy scent.

I don't like him but Ronan Keating had a man's aftershave named after him. It was sold in aid of the Marie Keating Cancer Care charity. It was a lovely, fresh scent. Nicer than the Ronan Keating perfume in aid of the same charity.

Martha have you had any takers? I actually came on s&b to ask if anyone would want a nearly full bottle of l'occitane cherry blossom moisturiser (which smells lovely but I find a bit overpowering), let me know if you'd fancy doing a swap!

Or if not and anyone else fancies the moisturiser I'm happy to pop it in the post... just don't want to bin it!

I love the Katy Perry perfumes and the Britney ones.

I had a perfume about 15 years ago that I would love to buy again, but I have no idea what it was. I know it was a "pop star" one, and it was in a gorgeous bottle that was duo-chrome purple/green. I've googled everyone I can think of + perfume, but I just can't track it down. Help please! 🙂

I'm pretty sure the SJP I bought today is genuine as it was the only one they had at the Amazon Prime Now warehouse (where they deliver in two hours) so it comes direct from Amazon instead of via a dodgy third party IYSWIM.

I do like it! It's a bit sweeter than I would normally go for but perfect for every day! I have the eau de parfum spray which I put on an hour or two ago and I can't smell it now...so not sure if it hasn't lasted or I've just gone nose blind to it. Will check with DP when he emerges from the shower.

Vagina...cat shaped bottles?! Must go and look at those!

Avon have a nice one called Alpha. It smells like something, but can't put my finger on what.

New look Pure Dusk is cheap & a decent copy of Lancome La Vie Est Belle.
