poke look after yourself sounds like you need it; maybe now is the time to invest time in yourself and use up some of the product stash?!

We've been relegated to the spare room whilst sleep training the baby so not using up any regular products but have used a sample of elemis face cream.

youredeadtomesteven · 10/03/2017 21:13

A few more empties!

An Aussie 3 Min Miracle Reconstructor, will repurchase but probably not for a while. I rate their products but adore the smell even more so.
A Garnier Micellar water (pink lid, mini size) - fabulous stuff. Won't need to repurchase for a while and have replaced with a huge 400ml skin active Garnier bottle from my 'stock' so I'll have enough to keep me going.

My Seventeen pressed powder is starting to wear so thin it's beginning to break off, so I will probably need to buy one. Ooh, and I've used my Benefit They're Real mascara for what seems like months (possibly 6 at a max), but I've had it for about a year unopened before thatBlush. I've got a few in my 'stock box' so may dip into that for a new one.

Happy (belated) Birthday @CantChoose!!! 🎉🎁🍾

@IPokeBadgers sending you much love and a warm and comforting hug. Take care of yourself Flowers

Great progress ladies!

I am shattered after 3 city business trip. Also feeling low as it is looking even more that I will not be able to stay with my currrnt employer by moving to a different job so have started to look externally. But maybe this is what I need - a new start.

CantChoose · 11/03/2017 09:54

Thanks kwik and dragon! That was my first @ message kwik, so exciting!! Good luck with the job hunting kwik, my curent job finishes in august so I might be looking too soon but they're hinting I might be able to stay where I am - need to decide if I want to though!

I used all the benefit stuff yesterday :D I'm def the lighter shade of the gimmie brow so if anyone would like the darker one I'm happy to pop it in the post for someone? I'd hoped the porefessional mini might be a good size for my holiday but it's a bit too small I think.

I've finished a boots extracts cocoa butter body scrub which I HATED so delighted that's gone. Full size too polishes halo

woodhill · 11/03/2017 10:57

Do you think having a mascara stock box ( I have) causes them to dry out as it takes a while to getting round to using them and who knows how long they were on display before or do they stay ok until open.

I'm using a Clinique one from a free gift, it's not that great.

applesandpears33 · 11/03/2017 11:05

Sorry to hear about everyone going through work stress. I hope everything works out soon.

I've got an empty - Boots P&P intense serum. Not surprising there is another one waiting to be opened. Only one though, I'm making progress!

kwick · 11/03/2017 20:28

@woodhill I think if the mascara is sealed it should be fine.

Hello peeps.

Finally was allowed to buy shampoo! What a result! Went with the recommended redken cleansing one and initial reports pretty good. Day Two is much better than normal. Needed a light hand with the dry shampoo this morning and I did tie it up mid afternoon. But that was mainly cos the kids were crazy and I am frazzled. It feels pretty good. Now to see if it continues. My hair has a habit of getting used to shampoos.

CantChoose · 11/03/2017 23:46

Oh god.
Just cleared out a cupboard and found all this Blush
I'm considering boxing it all up and sending it to the give and make up charity. I'm enjoying getting through some of my stash with everyone's help here. But I'm actually ashamed I had all this stuff as well and had completely forgotten about it all :/
It would be easier to post if I unpackage it but I guess it would be nice for someone to receive a proper gift set, what do you think?

Ashamed of my beauty product hoard - part 5
OldJoseph · 12/03/2017 08:12

Perhaps a local charity shop would take it as it's unopened? Might be cheaper than posting.

applesandpears33 · 12/03/2017 08:28

Or is anyone setting up a raffle and looking for prizes?

kwick · 12/03/2017 09:36

Cancer Research will defo take unopened sets Grin

OP posts:
CantChoose · 12/03/2017 10:15

That's a great idea apples but everyone I know who does that sort of thing may well have bought me the sets. Awkward!!
Do you mean high st shops, kwik, or somewhere centrally?

littlepooch · 12/03/2017 12:08

Hello all!

I am very excited to report I have some empties! Bit like buses - they all came along at once!

Aveeno body lotion - this is a staple for me but can't repurchase as have a few other brands lurking in my stash which I want to use up.

Ogx argan oil shampoo - I liked this but have a Liz Earle one to get started on next. I would repurchase in the future

Simple shower gel (big bottle) - was ok, nothing special. I don't actually have any shower gels I'm my stash (except a couple of bliss minis which I have earmarked for a weekend away next month) so will pop out to boots and get an Aveeno one. DH is coming with me to make sure nothing else falls in my basket!

King of shaves shave gel - this was rubbish. I'm going to have a bash at Using coconut oil next to shave legs with as we have a huge tub in the bathroom just sitting there.

So that's me probably for months now haha. Will keep persevering. Hopefully will finish some skincare stuff this month.....

littlepooch · 12/03/2017 12:10

Also glad someone asked about unopened gift sets. I have a ted baker one and a sanctuary one which I got as Christmas gifts. I can't use either as I hate the smell and they irritate my skin and make me so itchy. My mum offered to take them for the charity raffles she often helps at but wasn't sure if that was cheating? It sounds like it isn't though....

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 12/03/2017 12:40

Flowers Gin Flowers to all with job fears and misery. Scary times. Def sending virtual selection boxes of goodies!

To user-uppers! Congratulations some awesome empties except I'm looking through thinking ooh I want to try that and adding to list!
I love idea of sending unwanted things to women's refuges but expensive to post if none near by.
Yes wet n wild lipsticks £1.93 on amazon kwick !?! Sorry if wasn't! American seller so slow but great to try so far. Getting there with lipsticks and finished a sample hair treatment thing called Phyllie which was good and, I think effective, but £££ so wouldn't buy full size.

kwick · 12/03/2017 17:07

@CantChoose the ones on the High Street

Or you could resell on ebay?

Well done @littlepooch!

Thanks @AnotherPinkiePieStory I might try wet and wild in 20 years when I have used up my stash...

FrustratedFrugal · 12/03/2017 17:31

Littlepooch fantastic progress!

No empties here, but I have refound a long-lost flame red Kiko lipstick and am enjoying it very much.

I am starting to realize that enjoying what I have is more important than using stuff up. Right now, I am experimenting daily with different items in my stash. I've started really liking the Narsissist palette, have worn more than 25 lipsticks from my collection this year, learned how to do black eyeliner using eye shadow, rediscovered an eye pencil, made a 'mixtape' blusher using three different shades, and learned that using a different brush can change the look and feel of a product. All this means that my products are getting more wear and love 💖

kwick · 12/03/2017 18:50

I love your POV @FrustratedFrugal - you are right to look for hot in everything you use.

I just finished the Pantene in-shower hair conditioner- yuck!!! Foam which just makes my hair lank and greasy. So glad to be rid!!!

I am off to choose my March pick n mix samples from Feel Unique and spend any vouchers they have sent me.

Am I the only one that LOVES the smell of the Superdrug Viatmin E range - not strong in all - but defo prevalent in the Micellar Water and Intense Moisture Cream.

Thanks everyone

It seems I have magic products.....because they never bloody end!!

CantChoose · 12/03/2017 23:01

frugal I think that's what I like about this thread - it's made me actually use stuff rather than stashing it so I'm learning more about what I like using, particularly skincare. I'd like to experiment more with my makeup but it feels very time consuming...

dragon I've got a few of those. My soap and glory orangegasm shower gel seems to be going up rather than down! And I promise I wash more than once a week Grin

FreeButtonBee · 13/03/2017 07:47

LOVING the redken shampoo. Day 4 here and it's like it would normally be on the morning of Day 2. I don't normally go this long without washing but life has been crazy so I have pushed it out. Even my normally greaseball fringe is hanging in there and juuuust about presentable.

DragonNoodleCake · 13/03/2017 10:24

Which Redken are you using free?
I think I should research working for Redken once the redundancy comes through lol!

FreeButtonBee · 13/03/2017 13:20

The cleansing cream shampoo. Great for greasy hair. I am on first use though. I need to give it a month of proper use to really get a sense for it but initial impressions are 👍👍👍👍

FrustratedFrugal · 13/03/2017 18:25

CantChoose experimenting with makeup is doable if you change just one thing each time - I often do everything else on autopilot but change the eye shadow or lipstick. There is a learning curve with each product, I have to use a new one a few times before I get the hang of it.

No empties today but there is only a little left in my pump action bottle of body moisturizer. You all know how long they can take so that's major!

Work v stressful but in a good way. Going to London again next week.
Who had just returned from a multi city trip? I know exactly what it feels like.
