Anyone tend to use organic skincare. Had a look at a couple of brands online but they tend to more generic than being tailor made to different skin types or age ranges. I'm nearly 50 and want to hold back time Smile

kwick · 02/03/2017 20:47

wood I am trying to get more into organic skincare but have not got any real winners to share just yet.

kwick how was your day? Hope it went ok. Flowers are your work colleagues supportive?

frugal Wine thanks for guess/ carefully researched answer! You're a pro. Will post a pic of 2 finished lipsticks on April 2nd! #challenge
Me neither moglick so I'm hoping to suceeed at this! Wish me luck!

kwick I loved lush charity moisturiser and thinking of a pot when I finish current stash (in 2029!) not sure I noticed smell. What was it like?

Have a fab holiday five. Prospect of hotel freebies?!?

A less than £40 Boots trip? That's impressive wood. Will try and channel you next week when I go to opticians! Have a Estée Lauder appt too..... Blush

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 02/03/2017 21:02

Thanks for offer kwick but have 2 bottles here. Blush hiding one from DH!

woodhill · 02/03/2017 21:26

Kwik the urban veda cream was good and I like organic surge. I also have a skincare oil called AD skin synergy which I use at night. I resisted the Boots NO7 range.

littlepooch · 02/03/2017 21:35

Hello - may I join? I have just read through the whole thread. I have 2 large boxes of skin and body care to get through. To my horror I found a full size Estee lauder ANR in there today. I seem to buy the same things - so have dozens of body lotions and face masks but no back up shower gels! I am not counting make up in those 2 boxes but it's safe to say I have enough to last me years! So here I am, ready to join if I may and stop my addiction to beauty spending.

MrsDilligaf · 02/03/2017 21:46

Exciting times in the Dilligaf House. Mr D is whisking me away for the weekend to a nice hotel AND I get to have 3 (THREE!!!) spa treatments.

My concerns are thus:

  1. Hotel freebies...can I resist?
  2. I'm going to have to buy products from the spa aren't I?

I may as well just beg for forgiveness now Grin 💄💄💄

kwick · 03/03/2017 07:23

another I found that I did not much like the smell nor the consistency of the Charity Pot but I am glad you like it - I bought it due to its giving nature - I hope loads of people buy it Grin
i have supportive colleagues but the real test will be when I start to travel next week and get questions from those who are not in the know.

Welcome little!!!

How lovely mrsd! Enjoy your trip - what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas right? Wink

Ladies I have a dilemma... just finished a Yves Rocher lavender deodarant - have more flavours in stock but they have a matching shower gels and some even have matching body lotions and fragrance.... I think I may have to buy a new deodorant Confused

Needastrongone · 03/03/2017 07:51

Enjoy the trip mrsd 3 treatments sounds fab.

You need the deodorant kwick and you love the lavender smell, needs buying...

I have 3 empties this week. My products are like buses, no empties for weeks then lots come along at once.

  • Nuxe night creme (can't remember the specific french name) travel size, no great shakes and wouldn't purchase.
  • Aussie Colour mate shampoo. Surprise hit in my hunt for the holy grail of shampoos. Going to repurchase today.
  • Neal's Yard hand creme from the M&S calendar. Loved this, texture and smell both, but I have so many others to use. And I still prefer the Body Shop honey one.
ememem84 · 03/03/2017 22:03

Empty!! A travel size clarins eye make up remover. On to a full size now.

kwick · 04/03/2017 06:55

Great job needs and eme!

Maybe we should do something like this when we land on a succesful combination... I am still searching...

My empties are like buses too...
None around here for weeks 🤷🏼‍♀️

FrustratedFrugal · 04/03/2017 07:43

Purchase approved Kwick 👍🏻

kwick · 04/03/2017 09:25

Thanks @FrustratedFrugal ... I went into Holland and Barret and saw they had a Dr Organic vitamin e deoderant - and I wondered if Superdrug do one, so popped next door, they do not. But bought some root dye.
Went back to H&B to pick up the deoderant- they had an BOGOHP offer so I then had to search for something I "needed"... settled on Dr Organic snail gel serum - which was a steal at £10! 🐌
I feel that was quite restrained 🤥

Another empty. Batiste dry shampoo full size in the "oriental" scent (the purple one).

Have two more in the stash to use up - next is the tropical (yellow).

pepperrabbit · 04/03/2017 14:18

Yay, I finished a L'Occitane almond hand cream, travel size and starting the Pivoire Flora one next.
Hope everyone's enjoying the weekend :)

woodhill · 04/03/2017 17:30

I want to buy some more Doctor Organic. The products I have used were very good.

I visited Boots, did the 3 for 2 on NO7 but bought 2 things as gifts and 1 hand cream plus an eyeliner I didn't really need but still got £3 off.

I also bought shampoo as I've had some highlights and wanted to buy a good quality one.

It's so tempting.

I tried that la Roche a posy retin a spf but expensive for £30.

Tidied up today and found even more products from M&S beauty calendar. I'm ok with everyday products but more lapse with occasional products like hair oil etc

CantChoose · 05/03/2017 00:23

Proud to report im on a bit of a roll today! Finished:

Gilchrist and soames hotel freebie body lotion. Didn't like the smell or texture of this and my skin felt dry. Glad it's gone.

Anti ageing moisturiser, random sachet sample from little shop in Greece. Couldn't repurchase even if I wanted to but gave about 3 uses.

Full size smash box primer. I have a nearly empty mini version to use up next before I move on to my new porefessional. I bought this because I've got big nose pores post-acne but I was a big fan of the smash box so not sure how I'll get on...

Going on holiday in a couple of weeks. Must not look in duty free, must not look in duty free...

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 05/03/2017 07:40

NIce work everyone. Nothing to report except to enable kwick and wood. Love dr organic snail range. The moisturiser is fab. Smells lovely and doesn't irritate my sensitive flower skin!

cant I won't be any help resisting sorry! Love a cheeky duty free poke around. Jo Malone and bobby brown are always worth a look. Sorry. Not helping!

Hi little. I'll happily look after ANR for you.

And mrs. Have a fab time. Quite jealous.

FrustratedFrugal · 05/03/2017 08:57

Two major empties today:

Chanel Eclosion eye shadow quad
It took 12-15 months of daily use of two shades per day to finish this. Versatile shades, I finished the palest one first and the dark bitter cocoa color (usually worn as eye liner, sometimes as lid wash) last. Liked this, will not repurchase but will use similar shades from my Nars Narsissist palette next for the month of March.

Chanel Rouge Velvet L'Exuberante lipstick
A very bright magenta pink. I loved this last summer but have grown increasingly tireed of it and the last weeks felt like hard work. Great non-drying formula that feels pretty soothing. But I like Yves Rocher Grand Rouges and YSL Rouge Pur Couture and some Kiko lipsticks far more. Hated the packaging, these lipsticks tend to break if carried in a handbag (have broken two!). Will not repurchase, too expensive for what it is.

FrustratedFrugal · 05/03/2017 09:12

Because these two Chanel products took so long to finish, I am posting pics of what they looked like when I bought them. These shades clearly suited me.

frugal I could not be more impressed that you've finished a quad! I swear mine regenerate while I'm asleep. I've been using up a body shop shimmer cube shadow for what feels like years.

another you are a bad influence! I think it might have been you who encouraged me to get the benefit stuff too. That said, I've never bought anything from jo malone and I'm sorely tempted.

kwick · 05/03/2017 09:25

Wow! Very impressed by all the empties - especially you frugal!!! To finish a pallete- well that is like living the dream!!!!

OP posts:
ememem84 · 05/03/2017 09:29

frugal I love the look of the Chanel shadow quads. And the Dior ones.

When I'm done with my Mac pallet and my urban decay one I'm treating myself. In about 20 years time....

FrustratedFrugal · 05/03/2017 09:30

Finishing a palette would never have happened without this thread - I used to hoard makeup, now I wear it. A big difference!

Here's a goodbye selfie, RIP Chanel Exuberante, we shared some great times, now I'm ready for something new!
