Two 'difficult' empties to report today: one is that blasted Laura Mercier primer that seemed to refill itself overnight, the other a Ted Baker hand cream that was in a Boots gift set. Both had been cluttering my bathroom cabinet since Christmas 2013 for a while, so I'm actually relieved to sew the back of them.

The primer wasn't bad at all, but I loathed the smell, so definitely not one to repurchase.

On a more depressing note, I've eyed up the gorgeous new Estee Lauder lipstick in Pocket Venus and I need it in my life!! I'm currently the not-so-proud owner of 10+ lipsticks, so I don't feel I can justify it even if I've been good with my empties...Sigh!

pasturesgreen · 17/05/2017 14:44

To see, ffs!

littlepooch · 17/05/2017 16:51

I have an empty - a body shop Moroccan rose body lotion. Another half full lotion that I've had for ages and so I'm glad it's finished! I've just discovered a half empty jo Malone body creme in a basket in our spare bathroom 😳 so that is next up to finish. If I recall this thing takes ages to use up!

This weather is playing havoc with my hair. I had it cut into a shoulder length lob and I really really regret it - it looks so bushy and frizzy and just rubbish.

pastures I have a Laura mercier primer which is never ending. I thought I'd cracked it, cut the top off and to my horror it still looks about a third full!! I'm stuck with it forever I think!

ememem84 · 17/05/2017 17:37

@dragon or get a golf ball and roll your feet over it

@pinkie great description. I was told I looked super glam for a preggo today. Yay!

@frustrated is there a thread for clothes hoarding?? I'd be in for that one too!

@pooch snaps. My hair is not too short to put up. So is frizzinng all over the place. Eugh.

FrustratedFrugal · 17/05/2017 20:01

Ememem I started a new thread for other types of hoarding. I am definitely a clothes hoarder.

No empties today, but several full size products almost finished.

kwick · 17/05/2017 22:22

I have an empty (I literally am a bit if an oil slick as I used up all that was left in one fell swoop):

  • Cougar by Paula Dunne hyaluronic acid facial oil. Not sure where I bought but was very inexpensive as on sale (around £4 if I remember correctly) and hydrated nicely.
Only one more facial oil to go and then I get to buy a new serum!!!

Hello all - new to this thread, but I feel like maybe I have found My People!
Received around £100 in vouchers for my birthday recently, so planning to replenish some products and get some new bits too. I'm thinking:

Clinique Take The Day Off Balm - LOVE this, first time I've ever literally scraped a tub clean to get every bit of product.

Nars Creamy Concealer - for under eye. Best I've tried, but still not enough to keep my dark shadows at bay - anyone have suggestions?

Foundation of some description - I'm under 30, don't need much coverage, but want to look more "done", especially as I'm starting a new career soon. Want to move on from my Garnier Bb cream! In the past, have LOVED Bobbi Brown foundation, but it's a bit £££. Any other suggestions?

And the big one - I have been obsessed with the sadly discontinued UNE sheer lips balm for years now. When they went under, I bought 6 tubes of the stuff on Amazon and have been using them ever since. Have now sadly run out :( so looking for something similar - a cross between a balm and a lipstick, very sheer, not overly pigmented, in a natural shade. I've looked at Chubby Sticks, and the texture/look is just right but I'm not feeling the colours. I've also been very impressed with the Lancôme Shine Lover lipstick when I've tried it in stores, but I resent paying £23 for something so sheer that I would reapply multiple times a day and use up very quickly. Help?!

Kimonolady · 18/05/2017 00:39

Gosh didn't mean to write such an essay!! Please help if you can, though.

BigStripeyBastard · 18/05/2017 08:18

Ok, here is my list of 5 things to finish by the Summer Solstice.

Ashamed of my beauty product hoard - part 5
BigStripeyBastard · 18/05/2017 08:21

Once I knock these on the head I can go back to my beloved Liz Earle cleanser and my Clarins moisturiser.
i shall also try and continue working through my many body lotions, butters and moisturisers! I keep buying the bloody things, even though I know damn well that I am too lazy to use them! 😁

ABeaverAteMyThumb · 18/05/2017 12:08

Hi ladies,

Am I ok to join you? I have SO much beauty stuff it's obscene!

kwick · 18/05/2017 18:32

Welcome newbies!!! The more the merrier!

littlepooch · 18/05/2017 20:32

Round of applause please - the longest running moisturiser has run out at last. I am over joyed! It was the Liz Earle moisturiser and was nice but I can't wait to go back to my clarins one.

I'm away for a long weekend will take a couple of samples with me and then can hopefully start my clarins next week 😃

Strawberryfield12 · 18/05/2017 20:58

I have an empty, a massive one. Finished bioderma micellar water, just checked on Amazon I bought it October 2015, 2x500ml. The second bottle is gone now. Phew! It was good, but I am just so over it after 2 years everyday use.

ememem84 · 18/05/2017 21:41

Wow good work guys and hi to newbies!

I'm working on my 5. Just crawled into bed and remembered to slather on my clarins night cream. I always use this sparingly. But forget how nice it feels. its pricey but totally worth it in my book.

I once almost cried when I accidentally dropped a new jar in the bathroom. It hit he sink and somehow sprayed moisturiser all up my tiles. Took a bit of a chunk out of the sink and cracked the jar. I may have scraped the tiles and scoooed it all back into the jar....

CantChoose · 18/05/2017 22:44

I've finished an other mini elemis pro collagen. Love this.
I've moved on to a travel size Neal's yard frankincense cream to use at night.
(How do you categorise your sizes? To me mini is sample size, travel size is 1-2 weeks worth. Hopefully it's not just me!)

kwick · 19/05/2017 07:08

@littlepooch 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Blimey your Bioderma lasted well @Strawberryfield12 Shock

Well done one and all!

I have an empty:

  • Superdrug Naturally Radiant hot cloth cleanser: I love this stuff!!! Much prefer it to Liz Earle one and is as cheap as chips! Have promised not to replace until am completely out of cleansers (will be a while)...
OP posts:
ememem84 · 19/05/2017 08:59

Finished a mini benefit porrfessional this morning. Yay!

BigStripeyBastard · 19/05/2017 12:40

I will keep the Superdrug hot cloth cleanser in mind and give it a go whe I eventually get through my many cleansers.

FrustratedFrugal · 19/05/2017 19:56

A tube of Pepsodent toothpaste used up - boring but I have several other tubes left so every little bit counts!

3/5 from Summer Solstice list done!

Tablefor4 · 19/05/2017 20:35

Finished! Autograph lipstick in nude. Good colour on me for neutrals. Not sure if they still do it. Will do some brighter colours for summer to use up other lipsticks.

Strawberryfield12 · 19/05/2017 21:27

Have finished Madara's firming body oil, have been using it for stretch marks during the pregnancy. The half bottle has been taking up the space for last 2,5 years since the birth of DD. Chuffed!

kwick · 19/05/2017 22:55

Well done on all the empties #inspiration

I have one too!

  • Superdrug Vitamin E body butter (love the smell of this range) - good body butter, went through it really quickly which I am rather pleased by as it means I used it! I am not so consistent with applying body lotion...

ememem84 · 20/05/2017 16:05

I cracked open another travel size clarins day moisturiser today. So that should be gone in a few days. Then onto a full size.

I'm working also to use up eyeliners. I guess if I wanted I could reuse a brown one as an eyebrow pencil?? To speed it up a bit??

Tomorrow's job is to soft through the stash and see what I have. And whether there's anything I could potentially regift.

woodhill · 20/05/2017 16:44

One empty today, a elasticiser by Phillip Kingsley, nice product but a bit of a faff.
