Ememem I was looking at the Clarins Boosters. How is the Detox "good"? Thanks

ememem84 · 08/05/2017 07:17

eleanor I think they just make my skin look fresher.

EleanorRigbysNeice · 08/05/2017 08:47

Thanks Ememem. I have had a look on Paula's Choice for reviews which was probably a bad idea. They seem to deride anything that isnt a Paula's Choice product!

ememem84 · 08/05/2017 09:45

Read the reviews on clarins website. Unsurprisingly they rave about it! Haha!

I got some samples in boots of the detox, the repair and the energy one. And use them as and when (was given the full size for Christmas). I like them but have always been a clarins girl. So will go to them for all skincare.

Strawberryfield12 · 08/05/2017 19:17

I've cut up big size of Molton Brown absolute rose body lotion, should be gone by end of today. Since I started to post about my empties on here, it seems like I am using awful lot of products. Have binned The Body shop Vitamin C instant glow enhancer, initially it seemed ok, but recently it had started to roll on the face. Probably vit C had went off. At least I bought it with 40% off the sale.

woodhill · 08/05/2017 20:21

I know what u mean about some products that go tacky on your face.

Finished a Clarins moisturiser. Using decleor neroli, I like the feel on my face.

DragonNoodleCake · 08/05/2017 20:44

Ladies - just caught up and you are doing great.
I have 2 empties, a feminine wash and a hair arcane oil treatment.

Other than that I'm just super busy. Wish DH would a) get a new job before this one runs out on Friday and B) it be based at home. I'm tired being single mum/Gran and housewife and full time worker now.

FrustratedFrugal · 08/05/2017 21:12

Dragon sending you lots of good wishes and relaxing energy 💐

Super busy here too. DH has just returned from Japan (with tons of funny and mysterious presents) and I am trying to survive some of the busiests weeks all year.

I have an empty - a Clarins Baume Levres Reparateur a la cire de rose 3 ml. This was a travel size lip balm from a flight. It went on and on, I must have had it for a year or more! Nice smelling but nothing special. And I fear it gave me a few spots Sad

10/ #12disciples gone!

plumstone · 09/05/2017 09:28

I have an empty - Living Proof anti frizz shampoo - really love it but because its a) £20 a bottle thats not that big, and b) have and OGX shampoo waiting in the wings, it may be a while before I repurchase

Started using Clarins hydra quench hydrating mask, this morning, as found a travel size in my knicker drawer - very random, and I am sure there was a logical reason for having it there!!! Used it this morning, and forgot how much I liked it!!

lifeistooshort · 09/05/2017 09:48

Whoohoo keep those empties coming. Good work ladies.

I have two more to report. Another sheet mask and also a l'occitane almond oil shower get. It was the last of the shower gel in my stash.

My face wash is nearly empty and that lipstick is still not finished but getting there slowly!

FiveShelties · 09/05/2017 16:55

Have managed to use up a few sample shampoos, conditioners and moisturiser. These seem to breed in the stash.

I have, however, achieved a first for me. No purchase at Dubai airport, now all I have to do us slither through Auckland without purchasing. Tough call!😀

Apology for double post.

lifeistooshort · 09/05/2017 17:23

I admire your restraint FiveSheltie. Not doing so well myself as I have received 4 new products: Missha miracle cushion, Egg pore foam cleanser, COSR BHA toner and the Face Shop oil cleanser....

FrustratedFrugal · 09/05/2017 19:10

Wow FiveShelties I do admire your resolve. I will face some major temptations passing through Hong Kong /Singapore in a few weeks' time.

Empties - slow going. I have lots of almost-empties though and have just run out of cotton makeup remover pads.

BigStripeyBastard · 09/05/2017 20:28

Empties this week..... a 30ml sample of Clarins anti wrinkle day cream, nice to use but not as good as my usual clarins hydraquench so will not rebuy for the forseeable.
Two sample sizes of the hydraessentiel serum finished....I am a long time user of the old version of this serum and the new one seems just as good, however have a full size and large sample size of the old version to use before I buy more.
Clarins eye makeup remover sample..... not particularly special, left a bit of an oily residue and not wildly effective. I prefer the Garnier micellaf water for removing eye make up.
I have started a Clarins oil gel cleanser 30ml sample in place to my finished clinique TTDO balm, very nice, nice feel to it, good slip on the skin. Have also cut open and decanted about five 5ml hydraquench samples into a small empy container so should work through them fairly quickly.

This is so satisfying, isn't it!!

littlepooch · 09/05/2017 20:36

Some good empties on here! I have none to report but am hoping I will have a few soon, seem to be stuck in the middle of a few things which I am bored of but am determined to persevere and use them up!

I did slip up today - had a clarins facial and bought the facial oil and hydraquence moisturiser. I had forgotten how much I love them. She also gave me loads of samples and 4 deluxe samples of body stuff.. ..so I have just added to the stash. But it's all stuff I will use and enjoy and know works perfectly for my skin.

mowglik · 09/05/2017 20:49

Hi all - lots of good work going on here! Been slow for me but I'm working on a few and I think I'll have a bumper empties week next week. Can't wait I love seeing my list going down and chucking the empty tubes/bottles.

So far I have used up:
Weleda age revitalising serum trial size
Merumaya cleansing balm trial size
And urban decay primer potion eye primer, not finished but is now going on patchy - will repurchase.

Ashamed to admit this one was 8 years old! I thought it had finished after 4 years but did that old trick of removing the inner tube and its lasted another 4 years. Time to kiss this one goodbye methinks Smile

Strawberryfield12 · 09/05/2017 21:36

Can I ask a stupid question about primers? What exactly is the purpose of them? And when are you supposed to put it on? I have Laura mercier primer knocking around and have no idea where to stick it in the skincare routine. It usually goes like cleanser, acid toner, serum, moisturiser, spf. Occasionally I would also use tinted fluid, but most of the time only limit to eyeshadow, pencil and mascara. Is the primer mainly to go under some heavy stuff like foundation?

DragonNoodleCake · 09/05/2017 22:21

Frustrated now I need to know what your DH brought you!

I've used lots of hair colour products today. A box of bleach mix, a 'steel' colour toner and most of a bottle of 'violet' toner. And a tube of colour conditioner.

Even though I'm naturally quite blonde - bleaching really makes my hair brassy so I need toners to give that very cool almost silvery shade I prefer.

I might have to give up the bleach for a while though as I'm sure I get lighter every time Smile

The toners and my trusty Redken keep it from being damaged tho

kwick · 10/05/2017 07:06

Yep @Strawberryfield12 primer goes under foundation.

Well done on all the empties ladies!!!

I have one too:

  • Lush "Beautiful" shower gel with myrrh and peace - I really loved the smell (reminded me of petrol) but I imagine it is quite marmite.

Confession time - I have just purchased the Cult Beauty Box!!!! Now my excuses are (in no particular order):

  1. It includes Tata Harper, and Zelens products I have been wanting to try but can't bring myself to spend that much
  2. I will use all the items
  3. I am telling myself that I will keep it all and take on holiday with me
  4. the 6 products were 40% off the total retail price and free P&P
  5. I wanted to buy stuff!
mowglik · 10/05/2017 14:48

strawberryfield i think you can use it under bb creams, not sure about tinted moisturiser. I usually use it like this: moisturiser>sunscreen>primer>foundation or bb cream

Yes, meant to ask frugal what did you get from japan?? I almost convinced DH to take our last holiday in japan so I could cart home a suitcase worth of products

plumstone I'm jealous! I lust over the cult beauty boxes but can't justify the cost this year. Going to mosey on over to the cult beauty website now to salivate Envy

plumstone · 10/05/2017 15:04

Well I have lusted over the last two and didn't buy as the cost was painful - but have wanted to try the Zelens and Tata Harper for ages and to be fair I will use all the products in this box!!!!!

Frugal - Japanese skin care is the Mutts Nuts!!!! I received sheet masks from Tokyo along with a wasabi kit kat - don't ask! as a gift years ago before they were fashionable the sheet masks not the kit kat !!

kwick · 10/05/2017 18:19

@plumstone so so so EnvyEnvyEnvyEnvy wildly thinking if I can afford to splurge on it too
