kwick If I'm honest no idea. My mum used to do it. It does work though. And it's great for the beach - esp if you're putting shoes on or having a picnic. No sandy hands over sandwiches.

I want to say the talc repels the sand. Or dried your skin so it doesn't stick. Whether these are true I've no idea. But it works.

Tablefor4 · 04/05/2017 20:58

I finally have an empty : Revlon lipstick is favourite shade Mauve in over. Now discontinued and had to buy various others to find a replacement, which I have now, but need to use the others too.

Will have shower gel finished too by bedtime.

Curiously this thread is also encouraging me to finish up stuff in other areas like the freezer and cupboard.

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 04/05/2017 21:41

Me too table. Good feeling. And I took about a billion pens to work so cleared another stash!

But. I was buying sun cream from look fantastic and they had korres on offer, and I remembered someone on here's love for their shower gel, so bought a trial set. And wow the Greek sounding vine one is amazing (away from home!) Argh. But lovely Even if not required! Thanks frugal?!?

NotReallySureWhatImDoing · 04/05/2017 21:43

I spent £80 at Superdrug online as they had 3 for 2Blush

NotReallySureWhatImDoing · 04/05/2017 21:44

But I finished a face mask, a deodorant, a toner and close to using up a serum.

CantChoose · 04/05/2017 21:59

another i think there are a couple of us but I was one of the ones who love the santorini vine Korres - Gorgeous isn't it!!
I passed my big stressful work exam (yippeeee!) but I'm going to carry on with the korres as a reward!
I'm the same table I've been using up cooking sauces and random bits of alcohol from the cupboard. We now have 10 open bottles of gin not 11. That's an achievement, right?!

plumstone · 05/05/2017 10:17

I have finally finished the Elizabeth Arden Spf 50 - last of it applied this morning, and even the smell is making me heave -- will be delighted to buy LRP Anthelios at lunch time.

Also Ages ago I bought the Dr Dennis Gros Hydrating mask - which was a box of four applications - powder and a gel which you mix in the little plastic bowl that is provided and then smear on face wait 20-40 mins and then it turns to rubber and peels off - very satisfying and so hydrating - DOn't think it will become a regular purchase as it was quite expensive for a mask - worked out at just over£10 for each application - however on a sun holiday after a day in the sun it would be lovely.

Well done on the exam Cant!! also working through the gin - impressive, it is about the only thing I never have hanging about!!

Funnily enough on the back of this thread I have become religious about using up what is in the kitchen, and then menu planing - means I have cut down on waste and stopped buying random bags of crisps!!!!

mintmagnummm · 05/05/2017 11:24

Plum have u tried the eucerin mattifying spf 50?

littlepooch · 05/05/2017 11:30

Hello all! Not been on for a while - been suffering with HG and it's taken over my life. However I have some empties to report which I thought I would share :

Liz Earle nourishing face mask - this was really nice. I weirdly have another in my stash so will open it next.

Soap and glory hand cream - really good but hate the smell!

This works pillow spray....is this a beauty product? Anyway it's lovely and an empty so thought I'd add.

Seeing as I've been so poorly dh got back from his work trip and has treated me to a clarins hand cream and diptyque candle. The hand cream is a welcome treat as my hands are so so so dry and feels like a little luxury!

woodhill · 05/05/2017 11:36

I haven't used up much but still trying rather than buying and opening new stuff.

It is definitely trickling down into other areas of stuff in house.

plumstone · 05/05/2017 11:39

I have not - will investigate at lunch time - thanks Mint!

mintmagnummm · 05/05/2017 12:28

I think I prefer it to the lrp plum

kwick · 05/05/2017 19:10

Thanks for talc tip @ememem84 - I hate sand!!!

Well done on the empties @Tablefor4, @NotReallySureWhatImDoing, @plumstone, @littlepooch!!!

Well done @CantChoose on exam result!

I wish this would trickle into other areas of my life!!! A friend is coming round tomorrow to stage an intervention & help me declutter!!! Hopefully we will tackle the books I have everywhere!!!

I want to try this Korres shower gel of which you speak!!!

Strawberryfield12 · 06/05/2017 15:28

Had the most productive hair wash last night. First Philip Kingsley small size elastizer finished and then the extraordinary oil full size, which I have had for last three years!

ememem84 · 06/05/2017 15:51

Am triallling a dark blue eyeliner today. From the body shop. It's nice actually. Found it in the stash.

kwick · 06/05/2017 18:35

Well done @Strawberryfield12 !!!

So was no so splurge free in Lush - got Ultrabland for nephew and then lots of stuff for me Blush

Now embarking pamper session - at home facial and hand and body care.

I have an empty:
-L'oreal pure clay detox mask: so not worth it! Loads of other clay masks on the market that are nicer/more effective

OP posts:
kwick · 06/05/2017 18:51

Another empty!!!!

  • Lush Sleepy body lotion: this stuff really does help you relax and sleep better!!!
OP posts:
kwick · 06/05/2017 19:54

Wow!! Just tried sample sachet of Dermalogica skin hydrating masque... skin feels very soft now Star

OP posts:
kwick · 06/05/2017 23:11

I am on a roll today - I have another empty!!!!

  • Garnier Moisture Bomb super-recharging antioxidant night gel-cream: loved this stuff!!! Probably better for summer months as very lightweight and refreshing to apply but gives a lot of moisture. I will definitively repurchase at some point (need to get stash under control again).

Tablefor4 · 07/05/2017 09:44

Go Kwik! Have just put Anatomicals foot cream in the recycling. Not sure how old it is, but almost certainly pre-dates 8 yo Dd1.... Blush Still smelled very mint-y though

pepperrabbit · 07/05/2017 20:48

Another empty, a travel size huile prodigiuex - I don't thin I've ever finished an oil before! I did use good amount on my hair after swimming as my post chemo hair is not liking chlorine at all! (think vertical wiry grey/white/black hair....). I do have another in the stash which I bought in France but have a sneaky suspicion I have another brand somewhere to hunt out.
In answer to the question about what do I do with talc, I like to be super dry after a shower, so use it under arms, under breasts, down below. Helps limit the nastiness of the hot flushes! My current one is the magnolia petals cornstarch which I'm liking.
Took the DC to a working farm open day today, must have washed my hands a gazillion times so lots of handcream required tonight.
Whoever recommended the lanolips lemonaid lipsalve - it's lovely. I bought in on Boots points so doesn't count as actually buying things! Tastes nicer than the aveeno, and has a lovely shimmer.

ememem84 · 07/05/2017 21:04

Empty! Sachet of clarins booster - detox. I've got the full size to use which is good.
