Here is the nails page - I have a local rep www.jamberry.com/uk/en/

Lilmisskittykat · 14/04/2017 22:31

Tubbybells- thanks for that tip! Gonna easily squeak a bit longer out of it now!

Think I've failed though - over the last 4/5 months my skin which was previously fairly clear has broke out in spot (adult acne dr says 😭) so I've tried the creams she prescribed with no real results.. so today gave in and had a full make over at bare minerals and bought most the stuff she slapped on my face.

Mainly because I was so impressed with how normal it made my skin look again. So a bit guilty but happy to feel skin confident again

She also said micellar water is a terrible way to remove make up... anyone else heard this? I thought I was doing the right thing.. just wondering if it was hard sell though?

pepperrabbit · 14/04/2017 22:46

Evening, I've been awol after FIL died very suddenly, lots of travelling up and down the country. I have actually finished several products in the last few weeks though, mostly handcream - the L'Occitane pivoire noir smelt lovely but I'm not sure it did much.
I've finished a full size Jo Malone Lime Basil & Mandarin perfume and have started the smaller handbag size one which I was given for my birthday Smile
My face powder finished
My lips are in a terrible state though, actually flaking skin and bleeding as they split Sad, I think it's a side effect of the tablets but I've tried everything from Burt's Bees natural stuff to the blisteze in the tiny tube, via Nivea, blistex medicare, and good old Vaseline! Any other tips?? I can't use my lovely Mac lipsticks!

pepperrabbit · 14/04/2017 22:57

And dragon the eyes look fab! I hope you're enjoying your evening Smile

FrustratedFrugal · 15/04/2017 07:25

Lilmisskittykat I have adult acne prone skin and have found that micellar water and mineral makeup are fantastic for my skin. Mineral makeup is very difficult to get off completely - that might be why the BM person was against it.

I double cleanse, micellar as a first cleanse to remove most makeup ans castile soap or cream cleanser as the second round. I've found that mineral makeup and powder based makeup suits my skin better than liquid foundation. Everyone is different though so take your time and see what works for you!

Fab eyes Dragon!

ADisappearingDreamOfYesterday · 15/04/2017 08:33

Pepper I am a lurker on this thread as I never bloody finish anything but wanted to reply to you, as I suffer terribly from dry lips (I have sjögrens). Have also tried every lip balm ever made, but a few months ago a MNer recommended Aveeno cream and it is literally a life changer!

I just use the daily moisturising lotion and put a thin layer on my lips before bed. I still use a tinted balm or lip butter in the day for colour, but my lips are now soft - no more cracks or bleeding. I used to be unable to open my mouth without crying wincing, so it's a big difference. If you haven't already tried it, it might be worth a shot?

kwick · 15/04/2017 10:23

Great nails dragon! Oooo the Glasshouse - have wanted to go there for ages!!! Eyes look lovely.

I just tried a Dermalogica sample of pure light spf 50 - skin has gone really red

@CantChoose EVERYTHING counts!!!

Does Hynose give you extra lash effect?

Sorry about FIL @pepperrabbit

Welcome @ADisappearingDreamOfYesterday !!! No need to lurk!!!

I may gave had a bit of a splurge at the Body Shop yesterday I got the Egyptian honey mask - smells interesting but is very nourishing; did a 3 for 2 on skincare and got a massively reduced primer and a handcream for my mum - which is lovely. Also came across a shop that sold Montage Jeunesse masks for 89p!!!!

Empties

A bourjois mascara (in the white tube)
Clarins body scrub.

Yay!!

FiveShelties · 15/04/2017 13:43

cant - it was me! Thank you so much, that is really kind.Grin

I missed the calendar as we were on holiday and they had all gone when we returned.

FiveShelties · 15/04/2017 13:47

Sorry to read about your FIL pepper - a difficult time for you.

Nothing seems to be ending here, so hoping lots of products are on their last bit soon. Only three weeks until I move and I am never going to use up 10% of the stuff I have left. I will be so clean and well moisturised!

Lilmisskittykat · 15/04/2017 14:42

Fantastic - thanks for that I was really doubting what I was doing and wondered then if the micellar might have been the trigger.

FrustratedFrugal · 15/04/2017 15:08

FiveShelties I'm in the same boat - have not finished anything in ages, everything is taking a lot of time. Good luck with the move, I know how stressful it can be!

CantChoose · 15/04/2017 15:28

@fiveshelties If you PM me your address I'll send it to you. My friends all rave about them but I've never really got on with them. Disclaimer: I have 'tidied' it, it's def in my house but I'm not entirely sure where...

kwick · 16/04/2017 09:37

To add to the Great Micellar Water debate:
I do use on a regular basis:

  • in the morning on occasion
  • as a first cleanse in the evening
  • as a first and final cleanse when I am knackered
My current favourites are: Holy Grail favourite - Bioderma sensibo pink top Neutrogena hydro boost

I have another #12Disciples empty:
Loreal Age Perfect cleansing milk - I love this stuff but no more Salcyclic Acid until have successfully TTC
So all I have left of 12 products is the Chopard gift set - everything finished except a spot of body lotion.
I wish these miny milestones worked in other aspects of my life!

Happy Easter one and all!!!

FiveShelties · 16/04/2017 09:41

Cant - will do, please do not worry if you cannot locate it, you may have the same 'tidying' system that I have Grin

FiveShelties · 16/04/2017 09:45

Frustrated - thank you. This is the last move (hopefully) - two international moves (with a dog) in just over three years have certainly tested my stress levels, to say nothing of my sense of humour. Nearly there though now and almost got the To Do List down to 68 pages Grin

FiveShelties · 16/04/2017 09:46

Forgot to say ---- Happy Easter everyone, have a lovely day Flowers Cake Wine

kwick · 16/04/2017 19:37

I have finished my #12Disciples!!! I am still constructing the new list Grin
Also I have finished a sample of Vichy Aqualia Thermal creme riche - smells nice and is very nourishing.

My SIL leads by example - she only uses one lipstick at a time and goes through them very fast - as she reapplies frequently throughout the day Halo

kwick · 17/04/2017 07:14

I have another empty!
A freebie with a magazine: Balance Me wonder eye cream - ok, actually the first Balance Me product I have liked

woodhill · 17/04/2017 08:33

Well done Kwik. This thread is so encouraging Smile

I have used up most of my list but not the chubby stick. At least 12 products though. It does keep you focused on using what you have rather than buying more stuff.

littlepooch · 17/04/2017 11:26

Amazing work kwick!

I have finished a full size soap and glory vitamin c fave wash. I've used this for years. I tend to use it in the morning in the shower so will probably repurchase at some point. But have some Bliss mini face washes to get through first in my stash.

kwick · 17/04/2017 15:41

Some more empties!!!

  • Boots baby shampoo: not a patch on the Johnson and Johnson one... I will not stray again!!!
  • Nip & Fab glycolic fix night pads: not that impressed, Clearsil ones work better, but have some Superdrug ones in the stash

FrustratedFrugal · 17/04/2017 16:23

Wow Kwick you are on a roll! Fantastic progress!

Back home, leaving for another trip on Wednesday. I am trying to use up a few minis during my travels (a Chanel serum, an Aveda mini moisturizer, and the last few applications in a Chanel lipstick). I am leading a fairly outdoorsy life so very little time for makeup but this time I will pack my Narsissist palette.

Strawberryfield12 · 17/04/2017 19:20

Came across this thread couple weeks ago and been lurking since then. Hope it's ok to join you all. Until last year I was very good with beauty products, but then I caved in for Liberty's advent calendar, there were lots of really good deals around Christmas, I tried glossy box for 3 months... and I am now a proud owner of so many products I could smother in moisturizer half of my street until the rest of the year.

Over the Easter ended up with 5 empties and thought it must be pretty therapeutic to tell everybody about it. The empties:
-Byredo hand cream from the advent calendar. Lovely, but quite £££ and more hand creams in the stash;
-Eve lom cleanser. Liked it as a second cleanser, might repurchase once have used up the stash;
-Madara Daily defense cream, great for skiing trips or visiting cold countries in the winter, have another one in the cupboard;
-Nivea cream big blue tub, ended up using it as a body cream. It has been standing around for ages, so really happy to see it go.

  • Espa moisturizer travel size. So so, didn't blow my mind, but didn't do any damage either.
pepperrabbit · 17/04/2017 20:45

Welcome strawberryfield well done on all those empties!
I have one, a never ending Lift & Luminate serum has finally expired, I do have another in the stash but have started a REN beauty shot which I think is a serum - or something close to it, I liked the first go this morning. I'm almost certain it was in an M&S beauty box last year.
