New thread, anyone?

The story is a new FSA campaign, I think, rather than new research (human studies still lacking).

dh has got in such a muddle with his NHS and other pension/tax, I fear it may never get sorted out. He asks for a bit of info, it takes 6 months and the wrong bit arrives. We live in dread of having to discuss it.

Still musing on that gorgeously coloured jumper, MI, Really suits you.

motherinferior · 24/01/2017 15:07

I'm thinking of digging out my stretchy frock in the same colour and wearing it tomorrow with a grey charity shop cardigan.Smile

I'm writing a pitch for some work I won't get...

I don't wear pjs Winkthough indeed I am quite fond of spending Sunday in fleecy sweat pants and a chazza cashmere jumper. DD2 would spend her life in pjs if she could. DD1 seems to have a slightly disconcerting pair of the boyf's tracky bottoms "he thought he'd keep here to change into" WinkShockGrin

Like Stropps I will never be able to retire and am Envyat the thought that anyone else might be able to.....

Ah yes, I love a lounge.Grin

Your poor friend. Is it actually worth repairing?

Auriga · 24/01/2017 16:57

So tough Rudy. With DSis2 we all had to be v careful what we said about vile cheating BIL as she said all along that she wanted him back.

Sure enough, when OW got tired of him he discovered a wish to move back in with DSis2 & 'support' her through her illness (not emotionally or financially, oh no, just cooking and lifts to hospital).

A year later I am still biting my tongue Sad

Welcome SpongeBob

Best wishes to DD Stropps and Shoo! to black dog, Rudy.

Woke from vivid dream that DDog had been gruesomely killed & DH had left me for a woman with three kids including a cute baby Hmm DD teased me that it's a dream about her going to university; think she may have accidentally hit the nail on the head.

wordassociationfootball · 24/01/2017 17:03

Lollwear (gavel)

(((Megahugs)))) to Stropps.

BTM - the trailer for that Body doc Oz woman looked great, didn't it. Hope things are easier with ds today.

Beachy - mocks...result!

Rudy - sorry to hear the canine of darkness is near you.

So glad dh came up with a lovely birthday for you Rose.

Rudy - sometimes it's about whether that commitment to doing anything continues months down the line or whether your friend will then be expected to get over it? Takes so long to get over that violation of trust.

Stropps - hope you and dd ok

BTM thinking if you and ds

Rudy, good luck keeping dog away

MI - jumper looks great

Lovely day in Alnmouth and Alnwick here including the fabulous bookshop. Back to London tomorrow. Looking frward to seeing dcs - seems like long time. Probably about time I stopped having full Northumbrian fr breakfast too.

Good news about supreme court!

Lalsy · 24/01/2017 18:53

Rudy, what a difficult one. I don't know if one ever does trust again, properly. I do know someone in slightly similar cirx who decided to try to make a go of it, eyes wide open sort of thing - so far so good. Look after yourself too.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 24/01/2017 18:53

Yes Addle - always satisfying in the extreme to see a woman single handedly taking on the Brexit Tories and winning - good for her. Fear it will make fuck all difference to anything at all though - with JC (Corbyn not Christ) being as much use as any sort of leader of an opposition as dog would be - actually, she'd be a damn sight fiercer and more convincing.

No wonder you're depressed Rudy - it's wholly appropriate to the current state of things. Hmmmmph.

MontserratCaballe · 24/01/2017 19:15

Sorry you are feeling low, Rudy. How is ds doing? When are his camera investigations? Thinking of you.

Btm, how is your ds today? Hope today was a good one for him.

Stropps, I feel tired just reading about your day. You are amazing for managing all of that. So sorry to hear dd in the wars. I don't know much about cellulitis but it looks very painful.

Hurray for the supreme court. Let's see what happens next. Time for the lib dens to seize the day I hope but I bet they won't. They've not exactly a parliamentary presence anyway.

Welcome, Baby - I too am downy and tend to epistick the worst and tweeze the real beard ones. Threading would give good results too but smarts like buggery on your 'tache, so might be sore.

Sorry for your bad dream Auriga. Your dd sounds wise beyond her years.

Day 22 of dry Jan for me - can't say I am feeling marvellously better but it is good not feeling shabby in the morning after a couple of glasses.

Talking of merriment, shall I book cote for 24th? Will search on old thread to see how many crepes are in.

Herbs, is d cat still going strong? I do hope so 🐱.

Lalsy · 24/01/2017 19:21

GGG, I agree. But, Starmer and the shadow minister whose name I forget are quite good I think - I feel more hopeful that they can hold govt to account and maybe stop the worst nonsense --as long as JC doesn't try to clarify anything, ever.

I don't think I can make the brunch on 11th - it is a big fixture for ds and his last one - but they do get cancelled sometimes.....

Lalsy · 24/01/2017 19:22

Auriga, I had a lot of very odd dreams before dd went to uni. It gets better.

herbaceous · 24/01/2017 19:30

Sigh.

Yet more parental worry - apparently mum hasn't been buying enough food for the carer, and shouts at her when she helps herself to food in the kitchen. I must confess I was unsure about food arrangements, and maybe mum is too, but it needs sorting. But she won't be able to remember a) what's happening, and b) what we agree, so the ground beneath my feet gets ever wobblier and harder to see. Don't Like It.

Cat, however, continues to live, if in a rather repellent fashion. He has a cold, and a permanently snotty nose, is as thin as a rake, and wobbly in the back legs. He is constantly hungry, and spreads his food around the kitchen. Still, at least he's shitting outside.

Very short tempered this evening. Partly due to DMum, but mainly due to lack of food...

motherinferior · 24/01/2017 19:38

Ah, can you remind me of dates again? May have double-booked and need to extricate self from the other engagement.

MontserratCaballe · 24/01/2017 19:58

I think night out was Friday 24th Feb. Hatty over for brunch on 11th I think but I don't think I can make that one, sadly.

I think we were planning to celebrate numerous birthdays on 24th and we decided we should go to Cote or similar for bargainous food and drink WineCakeWineCake

bigTillyMint · 24/01/2017 20:01

Yes, yes to Cote, Monty - I need nice things to look forward to Wink

Did we make a plan about where to on the 11th?

Herbs, I agree that it sounds like time for the POA. And some way of ensuring that the carer gets fed! I can't face dieting ATM, despite dire need, maybe it's a bit of a stretch too far for you too ATM?

Rudy, thinking of you and your DS and the tests - crossing everything.

No dry January here Grin

hattymattie · 24/01/2017 20:41

No dry Jan here either - but we did have a dry Christmas owing to the dreaded lurgy so we have an excuse.

I think for 11th Mrs S or Rose had an idea where to go - it was somewhere near Kings Cross. Not sure who we have at the moment:

Rose, Mrs S, MI, Herbs, BTM, (poss Rudy), CV, myself, Cloud and Addle I think mentioned coming but can't remember.

Auriga · 24/01/2017 20:52

Herbs please can you PM me about your St Matthew Passion? Will try to come & also please everyone PM me if you may be interested in coming to mine. Have been listening to the recording by the Dunedin Consort and I cannot believe the loveliness of Clare Wilkinson's Erbarme dich

IDismyname · 24/01/2017 22:48

I should get back into a bit of singing. I used to love it. Sang loads at school. Please feel free to PM me with St M Passion dates and times. I'd love to make it if I could.

I can't do 11th, but 24th a possibility. We have dear friends coming over lunchtime Saturday for the whole weekend, so will need to break the habit of a lifetime and do 2 things that week.

a) get organised early
b) not get drunk on the 24th or stay out too late.

Mind you, I'll have to be on my best behaviour being a newbie n all...

I went to counselling this morning thinking I'd be signing myself out.

Turns out I still have heaps of unresolved sh*te over the DFs care in the last few months. Completely went to pieces, and have not regained my equilibrium at all. Counsellor said that by talking, it diluted it somewhat. I think it's just churned stuff up.

Had to go and rescue DH from not so local station tonight as some poor person was killed at Woking station today. Trains all over the place tonight.

Bit like me, then...

Stropps glad DD is okay-ish. All part of the growing up and being independant. Cellulitis sounds horrid. Does she need to come home, or can she manage at uni?

MI fab jumper, but I'm in love with your yellow walls too!

Where's Colly?
