Stitch him up LIKE A KIPPER, MrsS.

I have produced over 1,000 words today and am widening my acquaintance with Hortus spiced gin. This is perhaps necessary as DD1 has a 'few friends' round.

hattymattie · 04/02/2017 18:30

Mrs S thank you so much - my PM was about confusion between the Brasserie and the Champagne bar.

Have arrived at DP's and they are doddery but it's nice. DD2 here so catching up on York gossip.

CointreauVersial · 04/02/2017 18:39

In S&B news, I have just purchased something I always said I never would - a pair of brogues! The crepey shoe of choice. I was killing time in New Look, waiting for DD1 to try on something skimpy, acrylic and overpriced, and spotted them in the scrag-end of the sale. They are real leather, black, classic punched design, and cost me.......£8.80. Bargain! Grin Will be great with my work trews.

I bought these trainers as well. I've been after white trainers for ages. I fancied some Stan Smiths but they are too narrow for me, and well over double the price. These are cute!

My little baby DD2 has started her period! Aww. Luckily big sis was on hand to lend supplies and offer support.

Oooh bargain CV - love a good brogue!
Welcome to the Crepey heartland Hatty - sorry I can't brunch with you next weekend - sounds lovely.
Glad all is well Rudy...

Just me, dh and ddog at home this evening - I plan to lie on the sofa and drink sherry.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 04/02/2017 19:39

WHAT IS STOPPING YOU HAVING MORE GIN MI???

motherinferior · 04/02/2017 19:47

Merely the fact that if it is probably inadvisable to neck gin nonstop at the rate I'd like to. I am adequately supplied with all gin-related accoutrements, however, so plan on keeping the flow going.Gin

BeachysSnowyWellieBoots · 04/02/2017 19:49

We are without dc tonight as well, GGG.

Ds to be picked up at some random place, to be ascertained hopefully soon, and the sat nav will only give a vague clue! Oh, the joys of living rurally Grin

Dd1 has had a craft day at school with a competition at the end.... she had to think of a name for their team. Conversation went like this:

I need to choose a team name, I think I'll use our initials....

Good idea, say I....

What does GIMP mean? Would that be good?

No, said I GrinGrinGrin

motherinferior · 04/02/2017 20:10

I have also found the last of the prosecco. DP and I have retreated to the living-room with the remains of the pizza.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 04/02/2017 22:50

Living the dream MI!
It's red wine and scan drama here....

GiddyGiddyGoat · 04/02/2017 22:51

Err, Scandi drama... not sure what scan drama would be - murder in a radiology unit?

bigTillyMint · 04/02/2017 23:15

Just back from a lovely night with old friends, catching up on booze news.

Like the trainers, CV.

Hope the gathering is going well, MI.

Glad u pure having a good catch up Hatty.

Herbs, ypur photo liked lively on fb so hope you're having a better than anticipated time.

IDismyname · 05/02/2017 01:39

Sorry Mrs S FB wasn't allowing me to post on yr birthday timeline, so Many Happy Belated.

BTM I'm a bit late to the news that your DS may be turning a corner. Great news. However, I will sit on my ra-ra Pom poms until further notice.

I'm also in warmer climes for a bit. Spent 36 hours non stop travelling. Thwarted at the end by cyclone, so we're holed up waiting for storm to pass. wifi will be sporadic so I may not be around on here so much.

Looking forward to meeting some of you on the 24th. Colly is going to scoop me up and guide me in!

NUFC69 · 05/02/2017 09:17

MrsS, I think the idea f two half days with your DM is an excellent idea (as well as being better work wise). She could easily find that two shorter visits over consecutive days is better for her health wise.

Do you have a hangover this morning, MI? I hope you're enjoying your stay with DPs, Hatty? And welcome back to the UK, Crem.

I managed my long walk yesterday through the crowds in Eldon Square, but I do wish that people would look where they are going; it's quite difficult to change directions quickly when you're on crutches. I was also enraged when a teenage boy threw an empty bottle at one of my crutches, in an attempt, I assume, to trip me up! So thank you to the older man who saw what happened and came to check I was ok (DH saw none of this as he was a few steps in front of me).

NUFC69 · 05/02/2017 09:17

Enjoy your holiday, Cloud. Where are you?

herbaceous · 05/02/2017 09:33

Hello all.

Yesterday was indeed fun, as evidenced by FB photos, once I'd accepted it for what it was. Too much time on trains, though... And the other couple stayed over, which made us feel rather second best.

Two glasses of red with our early tea, and one more when we got home, and I've got a hangover. Not fair.

NU - I know what you mean about crowds and infirmity. When my hip is playing up, changing direction is painful and difficult, so in become enraged at slow-moving bovine hordes.

I'm turning into a right lemon-sucking old bag. With DS on the tube yesterday, not my favourite place, a load of pissed-up blokes bundled on and started swearing and jostling about. I wanted to get off, nut we'd miss our train. So I just sat and looked disapproving.

Then in the pub I was navigating DS to the loo through a huge crowd of rugby watching blokes who all did a massive cheer and a surge about. I was proper scared!

Maybe it's just my protective instinct...

hattymattie · 05/02/2017 09:40

Cloud - do tell - where are you?

Here back to feeling age 12 and I'm here till Weds.

NU - disgraceful about bottle. Very courageous of you to tackle Eldon on a Sat pm on crutches. My DH is always in front as well. I used to call him Mr Taliban. Now I just yell "Trump". I think he's slowly getting the message.

bigTillyMint · 05/02/2017 10:57

Glad to hear you had a nice day, Herbs, despite the unsavoury behaviour of the males!
No hangover here, despite a few G&T's, a strong cocktail and half a bottle of wineHalo

NU, that's awful re the bottle/boy. My DH would most likely be behind even if I was on crutches as he is a snailAngry

I have a relaxing afternoon lined up - DH and DS are off to watch a match and DD is off to the library. And I am going for a pediSmile

motherinferior · 05/02/2017 11:04

I called time on the drinking after the prosecco, so after one (strong) g&t and one (large) glass I am quite unhungover.Grin DP is of the opinion I came to bed late because it was midnight, which always makes me want to stay out carousing till 3pm.

We are going to nip into the local mosque for the open mosque initiative thingy. DP's Muslim dad would be proud. We are ignoring the ham he is just putting into that ovenBlush

motherinferior · 05/02/2017 11:05

And am Angryabout the teenager.

herbaceous · 05/02/2017 11:07

My afternoon will be semi-relaxing. Going out for lunch with some friends over from Bristol, then DS has his first actual service as a choirboy! In the robes, and everything. He's very excited. I may have to brush his hair, though - he looks like a scarecrow.

DP very sad today. He spent Friday night with his sisters going through old family photos and his mum's jewellery, and was just sorting it out now. Jewellery is so poignant, isn't it. So personal.

Another job has appeared at the school that I keep applying for jobs at and keep getting rejected. It's a plain old TA role, for pupils with English as a second language. Could do it standing on my head, but can I take the rejection again?
