Happy Birthday my darling Stropps. May you awake with no hangover...

Loving the Gin emocion.... Could murder one right now.

Cremolafoam · 31/01/2017 22:10

Ah Stropps, Hope you had a good birthday ! Gintake it this is a gin bottle?GrinHmm loving that. How interesting about your friend Stropps. We really should book a tour out of the city later this week, but are having diffs deciding anything. Had a great day strolling round YSL garden with its trademark blue walls.
Tis dh's birthday tomorrow , so will be on the annual 'let's do what ever you want' dithering about for most of the day. Confused
The old town of Marrakech is almost like living in A previous millennia. Some things I'd say, haven't changed since the beginning of time. I am feeling impassioned for the ragged little donkeys today. Many hooked up to rickety wooden carts.

Glad to be out of earshot of European and Us news but I did catch that many state department people resigned yesterday and The Wotsit has fired the Attorney General, because she , erm , advised him or something. Aw Poor Wotsit, ( not) ffs.

A pic

Looking Good, Feeling Crepe.
Cremolafoam · 31/01/2017 22:14

Ps MM all the best to you. Hope to see you soonFlowers

GiddyGiddyGoat · 31/01/2017 22:20

So glad you're having a fabulous time Crem - you sooooo deserve it. How are you feeling? Better I hope. X

Rosebag · 01/02/2017 00:17

Happy Birthday stropps ! why didn't FB remind me? Sorry, it's tomorrow already xxx

Hello MM albeit very brief. Do come back sometime.

Beachy sorry about DS but dont feel bad, it's part of trying to help him build some resilience. Flowers

Cautious optimism Tilly

So glad your enjoying the trip crem. Smile

I'm not often up this late but I got back after choir and started catching up o TV.....OMG Silent Witness...I was glued...glued, I say, and now I can't sleep.

IDismyname · 01/02/2017 06:28

Happy Belated Stropps!

Had busy busy day yesterday so didn't really spend much time on here. Sorry I missed it. Hope the head is OK today, and tht the next few days are better than you think.

Watched ATY episodes back to back last night. Think it's all quite good - but not brilliant. Their first tryst in the crypt all happens so quickly - can't say I sensed a burning or even smouldering connection between them.

I seem to compare everything to The Night Manager. Cor. Now THAT was a series.

Reasons to be Cheerful (got to fake it to make it )

  1. It is no longer January
  2. DS home in 23 days
  3. The snowdrops are on their way up.

Not my finest 'Cheerful List', but got to keep plugging.

MrsWobble3 · 01/02/2017 08:29

I woke dd1 up by telephoning before 8am - cruel and unusual punishment for a student I think. In my defence it was because we needed her passport details to book our flights and dh had found a good deal but it was on a strict time limit. She took it well - but given there's a free holiday for her out if it that's not really a surprise.

Happy belated birthday Strops - that was some cake!

NUFC69 · 01/02/2017 09:34

A belated Happy Birthday from me, too, Stropps, and how lovely of DS to make you a cake.

Beachy, I hope DS is on more of an even keel today. BTM, did DS manage to go into school today?

MM, nice to see you, do post when you feel able to.

Reasons to be cheerful:

  1. I have lost another kg, making 4 since my op.
  2. The squirrel feeder which DD gave me for Christmas is actually being visited by one or more red squirrels, although I have not seen them, just the evidence.
  3. I managed a trip into Newcastle on the Metro yesterday.
motherinferior · 01/02/2017 09:56

MM, a sensible decision but do say hello when you're passing!

I have a rather gorgeous plumber, thanks to Monty.

magimedi · 01/02/2017 10:01

I will pass by & drop in .

My reason to be cheerful is that I am off to France tomorrow to see PFGD (& the rest of them!).

NUFC69 · 01/02/2017 10:10

Bon voyage, MM. Have a lovely time with DGC (I know you will, my DGC are the love of my life).

Another reason to be cheerful, the physiology has discharged me. Hooray! (Although I do need to keep on with the exercises).

GiddyGiddyGoat · 01/02/2017 10:12

Hi again MM Wink. Enjoy your dgc.

Reasons to be cheerful

  1. Had some good news re work.
  2. Am out drinking (and eating) with 2 newish friends tonight.
3. Am wearing v nice new denim skirt #sosandbme
BeachysSnowyWellieBoots · 01/02/2017 11:11

NU, how do you know from 'squirrel evidence' that the squirrel concerned was red? Genuinely interested.....

Ds off today, he came into tell us he couldn't sleep at 2.45am. When they were younger, you'd just budge up and they'd climb in - bit harder when they are 6ft tall!

motherinferior · 01/02/2017 12:33

Did I tell you lot about my Concert Dream?

Cremolafoam · 01/02/2017 12:45

Herbs you are funny.
Eyebrow envy is a thing apparently.Hmm
Dear help us.
Goodness Hatty i hope you are right about Marine. The world is just mad enough right now.Shock
Now sipping mint tea outside of A museum. Might be as close as we come to it...

Thanks GGG i am still a bit sleepy which is annoying but feeling the healing rays of an African sun

No, MI please elaborate!

motherinferior · 01/02/2017 13:22

I dreamed we performed a concert - and I had a solo - in front of an audience of large, hostile and intermittently hostile gorillas.

Lalsy · 01/02/2017 13:23

GrinGrin When you say "we", MI......?

motherinferior · 01/02/2017 13:33

My choir. Don't worry.

They think it's hilarious Blush.

I have written a job application and made a curry. Now I must go through the stuff for an 'informal meeting' about some potential work tomorrow.

Lalsy · 01/02/2017 13:50

[mops sweat from brow] Grin.

Go you!

Dreamqueen · 01/02/2017 14:18

Happy belated birthday Stropps What a lovely surprise that your DS made for you.

wordassociationfootball · 01/02/2017 15:04

STROPPY!!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Hope this is a great year.

I have taken action on the two things Lalsy and BTM advised me to do. One was to email dh's doc to say please think of a different AD for him, he might says he's ok. He's not.

Thanks again for that.

I went to an early morning rave today. Arrived at around half 7 and my sister came too. It was bloody fantastic. Basically jumped up and down (pelvic floor was NOT happy.... or entirely watertight Blush) for two hours with loads of people in glitter and sequins. I will be stiff and knackered for a day or two now but it was worth it.

Crepies, the most brilliant new/extra work strand might be heading towards me. Was with people I work for yesterday at a work thing and after I said 'I'd love to do X job', one of them said, 'great, let's have you do some on Y day'. He also intimated there was mucho work for people who can do X well. It's v similar to a thing I did for ages at the BBC. If various people are available, this might all come together this week. Sorry for annoying vagueness but this is a Big Deal (dh's one day a week of work is disappearing next month. Nowt lined up as yet.)

bigTillyMint · 01/02/2017 15:22

WAF, great news on all fronts!

Cremo, sounds like you are having a relaxing time, which is exactly what you need Smile

I am feeling cautiously optimistic, but also have a sense of foreboding that something is likely to go awry at any moment. Which is quite likelyGrin

motherinferior · 01/02/2017 15:26

WAF, that's terrific. Major phew.

I have an interview for the thing I said gloomily I wouldn't get and have just applied for another project which could be made for me.

Slowly doing own writing too, and networking madly with people who've published novels that are roughly in the same ballpark.

hattymattie · 01/02/2017 15:29

Early morning rave? What is this thing? Is it a sort of exercise class? I cannot get my head around early morning and rave together.

Fantastic news WAF on the work - lets hope it all comes together.

Here, am bushed after trying to hammer home adjectives to a remarkably thick/lazy group - I cannot work out which - maybe a combination. What's more they do adjectives in French and it's the same wretched word!

Crem - a break from the Orange One is no bad thing - I do get upset by the site of overloaded donkeys and mangey cats though.

Am going to get started on packing for DS - he's off with DH tomorrow - so I need to pack essential stuff like his toothbrush charger.
