I love a march, me.

wordassociationfootball · 31/01/2017 10:12

Thanks so much Dreamqueen. But I think I'm doing alright with the Rimmel.

Auriga · 31/01/2017 10:24

All I've done so far is fill in a form. Will have to be vetted & references checked.

Thanks for link, Lalsy, will follow that up.

BD, re sexual favours? Made my excuses and used second-best EM Grin It went out of alignment every time a lorry went past the end of the road.

The Bishopsgate Institute is collecting placards from anti-Trump protests - please donate the Wotsit one, Beachy! More info here:

Collymollypuff · 31/01/2017 11:01

and the Tweet one should be donated, Auriga

Auriga · 31/01/2017 11:39

Help - looks as though I have one or possibly two spare tickets for Amadeus at NT tonight, 19:30. Anyone interested? It's being broadcast, so there'll be cameras. Don't think they'll be intrusive.

motherinferior · 31/01/2017 11:59

Oh I'd love to, but having dashed out last night feel I should stay at home and cook supper (DP is out doing You Know What).

Collymollypuff · 31/01/2017 12:07

Tempting, Auriga, but I'm still feeling a bit post-operative, and would probably cause a fuss by fainting or summat. Another time!

GiddyGiddyGoat · 31/01/2017 12:11

What's the deal for a Saturday March? I'm in a protesting mood MI. #it'sliketheolddaysandnotinagoodway

motherinferior · 31/01/2017 12:55

Not sure but will find out!

motherinferior · 31/01/2017 13:05

Looks like 11am at the US embassy again.

In other news I have just started my first period in about eight (8, viii) months in synchronicity with DD1. Angry

hattymattie · 31/01/2017 14:05

Auriga - would have loved to go to Amadeus - I tried to get tickets for when I am in London next week but there is no performance the Friday evening (and it would have been sold out if there had been). I saw Amadeus as a student in Newcastle where they tested things out before they opened in London. It blew me away, little did I know then it was going to become such a worldwide success.

Would love to march as well - way to go ladies. I think the French are a bit apathetic although there isn't the invite to Queenie involved. Here, our worry is that Marine is ahead in the polls - I think she'll get through to a second round stand off but ultimately lose.

herbaceous · 31/01/2017 14:37

Don't think DP will get back in time for handover, Auriga, for any Amadeus-ing, though very tempting...

Met groovy young designer in groovy Hackney coffee place earlier today, all artisan loaves under railway arches. Nice to be out with the young people, though now have vast amount of sorting and organising of this magazine to do, along with pressing deadline, half-witted client and flabby brief. Perfect combination.

Also have car undergoing its MOT and service in the garage of Twinkly-Eyed Oily Mechanic Who Gives Me The Hots. I'll have to go and collect it later, hopefully when no-one else is in the workshop and he has to show me his wrench and fiddle about under my bonnet. Sadly, I may have DS and a bag of soggy swimming kit with me which will cramp my style somewhat.

Killing time this morning I nipped into Superdrug to treat myself to a new eyeliner. The whole world of make up seems to have changed. It's all contouring kits and eyebrow management. How do the young people find the time?

Lalsy · 31/01/2017 15:04

Grin Herbs, you have cheered me up.

Oooh am tempted but like MI, I deserted my post last night.

Kings X experts - recommendations for a restaurant near the station? Ideally, not too dark or noisy.

Auriga · 31/01/2017 15:09

One ticket taken, one still available. Not asking for money for it.

motherinferior · 31/01/2017 15:11

My stalwart of the BL has a Paxton and Wotsit, Lalsy.

Lalsy · 31/01/2017 15:15

Sorry, should have said this is for an evening out.

MrsWobble3 · 31/01/2017 15:22

2 places I've been. 1. Plum +spilt milk (in the great northern hotel) - v close to station, nice food but quite expensive; 2. Dishoom, round the back of the station, much more reasonably priced, about studenty so might be quite noisy in the evening -I've only been for lunch.

Hopefully other better lunched posters will have more suggestions.

motherinferior · 31/01/2017 15:28

There are a couple of nice places in Granary Square.

Lalsy · 31/01/2017 15:41

Thanks! Will look at those. Yes, we have been to the Grain Store.

hattymattie · 31/01/2017 16:13

Talking of which I still havent reserved for Saturday 11th, as waiting in numbers and time prefs. Not sure if this can be done last minute or if it's a place that fills up quickly. I reckon about 12.30 works for me.

Lalsy · 31/01/2017 16:26

Hatty, I thought I couldn't come on 11th but may be able to at the last minute if ds' thing is cancelled, so will take my chances if that is OK.

hattymattie · 31/01/2017 16:44

Lets get a list together and I'll try and book in Friday:

Hattie
Lalsy
BTM
MI
Mrs S
Rose
Mrs W
Herbs?
Rudy?

I think I may have forgotten someone.

BeachysSnowyWellieBoots · 31/01/2017 17:25

Evening all..... I've had a lovely day in soggy Brighton today. I realised I had cover at home, whizzed through my jobs, texted dd1 and told her I was coming! Apparently her friends banner read 'you can't comb over here!' which I thought was equally fab Grin

Ds has had a bad day today. He didn't know I was going to see dd1 (to be fair, nor did I), but I had to come clean when he texted and I think it really freaked him out that I was not where he expected me to be, IYKWIM Sad so I suspect he's spent most of the day in the quiet room and I also suspect he won't be going in tomorrow.

bigTillyMint · 31/01/2017 17:42

Oh no, BeachySad But maybe it is a step along the way of getting back to normality - to realise that sometimes things change, you can't do anything about it and you have to just try to get on with it.

But the banner was ace!

DS had a morning in school again and just came downstairs looking for blank flash cards, so I think he must be doing some revisionShock

Lalsy, what about the tapas place in Kings X - Camino's?
