Afternoon!

Blingy it's funny you should say that... I did begin updating my sales wishlist board the other day but now the sales are all starting ridiculously early you could do your Xmas shopping from them if you wanted! Crazy and I feel like they've caught me out! Everything on my board was clothes and I should really be following Lib's accessories strategy.

The Reiss LBD is going back, it didn't feel well made enough for £150 (unlined!) and the shoulders slipping down would have annoyed me. Thanks for the other links Lib!

Went out on Tues to somewhere I didn't really know anyone, but was relieved that most of the other girls were wearing bodycon dresses/tights/shoe boots, like me (It was a work do so I wore this DVF). Does anyone else get this feeling of having dressed "right"? I'm a total sheep.

Amber you are hardcore, enjoy!

And well done to MrLib!

LinusLovesBretons · 15/12/2016 16:43

Oooh I love that colour dry! Uniqlo does have shops here but not in the city I live in so I just ordered it online.

It won't be there before we leave but the postman will leave the package on the porch, let's hope it's still there when we get back. and it's not eaten by the many squirrels or our nocturnal visitor the skunk

Everyonelovessparkles · 15/12/2016 17:25

How's the swishy hair mara and shop? Did you go lighter again shop?

You are being good one avoiding the clothes sites, especially as so many have sales already on. Hope your elbow is a bit better.

blingy Shock at mrbling getting a Hermes present! Can I be his next PA Grin. Did you return the chemise? Agree that for that price it has to be perfect.

lib what a lovely thing for your DH to do. Hope you managed to get your studying done.

blair shame about the Reiss dress but that DVF is really nice. I know what you mean about fitting in when you don't really know anyone. I quite like dressing up, so am usually more dressed up than friends on a night out, which I don't mind, but when I'm out with people I don't know very well I'm more conscious of what I'm wearing.

That teal jumper is a lovely colour dry

My big nights out are few and far between too these days. Though I've found a 'yes' strategy can get you through a raging hangover. Basically just say yes to every demand from the DC whilst you lie on the sofa and it isn't too bad!

Not sure about the 21st lib. Were you thinking of somewhere central?

Today I wore my plum cord skirt with a cream ravello top and navy cardigan and it worked well. Much brighter than with a black jumper. I think I might try it with the top I wore to the MU too. Good suggestions ladies!

FedupNagging · 15/12/2016 17:36

Yup, another list maker here - I had 3 on the go for a while but have been a busy bee and managed to whittle it down today to one long list.

Can't do the 21st sadly - we're away visiting family for a few days.

MrLib is such a Star - am sure you'll manage admirably to open the wine Lib Grin

Fab boots Stokey and Kitty am Shock the jaeger belt is too small - you have a tiny waist.

Thanks for the LBD links a couple of days ago - they are now on my sales wish list - no sales strategy here except I've gotten better in recent years in only buying something I need rather than buying because it's a bargain. The sales wish list on pin is recent venture and inspired by Blair

AND why have the sales started so early? I'm not ready to sales shop until Christmas is done and dusted!

AmberNectarine · 15/12/2016 17:45

Wearing Elizabeth and James plum asymmetric hem dress that QueenC found for me in her Sunday links, velvet SE heels, givenchy Rottweiler clutch (just for shop) and Tiffany bone cuff. Nearly wore my Self Portrait dress but it is just a shade to short for a work thing!

maradesbois · 15/12/2016 18:03

Nice one from dh lib, what a sweetheart.

Blingy I missed that about the CG chemise, is it not good?

Had a lovely day yesterday, relaxing morning at hairdressers and fab catch up with Shop albeit over a diet coke rather than prosecco. And its casual chic not dull Shop! Then a fab party with dh, wore my Marant black velvet dress with 30 denier wolfords and gold sparkly choos with long Chanel necklace doubled up. Also black Perspex charlotte Olympia clutch from sample sale. Dh doesn't like/get the shoes but was very complimentary about the rest.

Had a look at the start of NAP and Matches sales. Don't have any particular strategy but felt like getting some new flats, nearly went for these aquazzura but decided too much going on there and can only wear with bare legs so went for these g rossi velvet loafers which lara has in grey. Hope they are true to size as really cba having to send back. Think the golden brown colour will work well with my wardrobe.

shopafrolic · 15/12/2016 18:06

Thanks Amber
Everyone not lighter this time, next time apparently
Lib I always buy Tim some booze at Christmas...... nice one to your DH - can he call mine and tell him what he did? We're having a party on the 23rd and then friends for canapés on the 24th plus ILs for Christmas lunch!
I managed to finish the Christmas shopping today thank goodness so that has made me feel a little calmer. Does anyone else get the pre Christmas anxiety? I really struggle to relax and enjoy.
I'm not loving all the sales starting so early. All the good stuff will be gone by the time I get given any christmas cash Angry

FedupNagging · 15/12/2016 18:27

Is it a black tie event tonight Amber? Your outfit sounds cool with the rottweiler clutch. Have a fab evening.

Mara love the sound of last nights outfit too.

Some years I get more stressed than others Shop - this year has been a bit on the stressy side as I've worked quite a lot, amongst other things and then next week we're away for a couple of days then have visitors so am trying to get super organised by the end of this week. Lots of Winehas been drunk!

Kitty I love the whole look that you linked earlier, I saw it on pin yesterday and it really caught my eye. Those shoes are very lovely - I'll keep my eyes open.

FedupNagging · 15/12/2016 18:31

Oh and forgot to say how gorgeous are the aquazzura's you didn't buy Mara - some lovely colours and patterns. Love the Lanvin top styled with the jeans too.

The GV loafers are very stylish though and better for this time of year.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 15/12/2016 19:40

Everyone yes! That's exactly how I am, down to the usually being more dressed up. Which is fine in a group, but not when I'm out with just my boss at an event 90% men!

Gorgeous loafers Mara, can really see you in them, more so than the Aquazzuras.

Keep forgetting to say, I can't make the 21st as I'll be working (last full day in office, as party is the next day) - gutted!

I am also in mild panic about the sales starting before I've even finished christmas shopping. But I think my real problem is i don't really need anything!

queencerulean · 15/12/2016 20:17

Evening all. Whoever asked about stress, I've been really stressed this week but I absolutely loathe this week of term. Far too much going on and I've been trying to catch up at work from being off sick last week (I have no cover if I'm off). I've had a massive list this week just to make sure I don't forget anything each morning for the dc. One day left and then much needed cocktails tomorrow night. Love getting together with other mums on the last night of term as it feels a bit like a work do.

lib I have no sales strategy. The one thing I want probably won't go into the sale and even if it does, it's sold out online so I won't get it anyway.
dry I have a navy Barbour for really cold days, a grey north face for dry days (no hood) and a black and a navy peacoat.
amber have fun tonight
mara love those aquazzaras but the Rossi are definitely more you
everyone I used to panic over going to things when I didn't know people especially if meeting dh colleagues who 5 years ago when he started his current job all seemed much older and more grown up. Nowadays I tend to be happy in what I wear and have made a wardrobe where in theory I have something suitable and don't need to panic buy. If in doubt, I prefer to be dressed down but if I wear jeans, I'll have heels and bling on etc. I'd Elegant casual is the look I aim for whether I nail it is another matter. I'd hate to be the only one in a dress and only tend to wear one if I know other people will be.

libertydoddle · 15/12/2016 20:22

DH doing the shopping was fab! The thing is I was in mode of trying to plan more interesting menus etc but when he just bought all the easy stuff I realised it was fine and that the people coming will be more than happy. Stressing myself out totally unnecessarily.
I annoyed at early sales too. Too busy to browse them properly.
Mara I love those loafers. They will work really well for you. Fingers crossed they fit.
Everyone I have PM'ed you details in case you can do MU.

queencerulean · 16/12/2016 10:07

I'm feeling all relaxed today. Last day of term and I've survived without forgetting anything! The house is finally coming together. I have a lovely man here from IKEA who is going to put up everything (wardrobe, bed, desk, draws etc) alone Shock. Best £200 ever spent!!

So, as 2016 draws near to a close we need to start reviewing our purchases but my question for today is...
If you could have any s&b item in your Christmas stocking what would it be? I'm toying between a Chanel or some diamonds!

queencerulean · 16/12/2016 10:11

Maybe, this little beauty

Drywhitethanks · 16/12/2016 11:39

Amber must have missed the asymmetric dress link, could you link again nosey but sounds fab, love asymmetric.

Sitting in garage while something is happening to my car car idiot, even got nice mechanic to reverse it into space

Eveyone I'm in the over dressed camp too....clothes give me confidence. If I'm going out with people I don't know a black dress always does the job.

Had an unexpectedly successful shopping trip last night....links coming up still haven't mastered multiple links after all these years

Did well in Cos....this forest green jumper got the XS and it's a lot neater then in the pic looks bloody awful in the photo great colour for autumns ......Liberty and Linus, love the frill collar and cuff.

And.....

OP posts:
Drywhitethanks · 16/12/2016 11:49

this navy coat as an alternative to my beloved camel. Again it looks oversized in the photo but in XS is a much neater/nicer fit.....why do they make everything look huge/unappealing on website?

Am trying to shop sensibly same resolution as every year, you've all heard it before

Don't have a lot of navy but I think it will work well with all of my tan accessories and denim on weekends

Drywhitethanks · 16/12/2016 11:53

Was very tempted by this coat especially as I have a £50 voucher, but preferred the simplicity and length of the COS coat in the end.

maradesbois · 16/12/2016 11:58

Morning,

QueenC that grey Chanel is so you! My fantasy Christmas present would be a watch, something like this vacheron constantin. I only ever wear men's watches and love the simplicity of this one.

Dry lovely Cos stuff, promised myself no more shopping for myself after shoe purchase of yesterday but tempted to have a look when I'm out later. Coat looks really well cut. Any discounts or did you have to pay fp?

Drywhitethanks · 16/12/2016 12:00

QueenC this one for me although after the birthday I've just had it seems a bit rude to be lusting after it.
Glad you are feeling a bit better today, it's a manic time of year isn't it?

HappyGirlNow · 16/12/2016 12:03

queen love that Chanel!

mara love the loafers, really love the Aquazzura!!

'Bagged' Wink myself a wee bargain this morning..

Lanvin

Been wanting a good red bag for ageeees!! Grin

maradesbois · 16/12/2016 13:22

Very nice Happy

Rossi loafers arrived, half size too small, am waiting in for dhl man, gah

libertydoddle · 16/12/2016 17:07

Great Cos buys dry. I am seriously considering the camel version of that navy cost.

Mara what a nuisance! Hope you didn't have to wait in too long.

Lara I forgot to respond to your comment about buying less online. I am going off it too. I make much better decisions when I go to real shops.

Happy that's a really nice bag. I thought the one you were getting from DH for Christmas was red though? I have my eye on a red bag too and am checking daily for it to go on sale Smile

libertydoddle · 16/12/2016 17:08

Coat not cost!!! My phone is seriously pissing me off...must turn off predictive.

FedupNagging · 16/12/2016 19:36

Great Cos buys Dry; love the neckline on the jumper.

Gorgeous bag, as usual Happy

Good question Queen and my answer was immediately a Chanel bag - obviously a popular choice. I'd like a vintage camera bag please although wouldn't turn my nose up at a brand new one of these beauties Grin

Blingy how are you doing? Are you still going away?
