It feels a very grown up perfume which is just what the doctor ordered as I'm off out to a party and wanting to project an 'off limits' vibe - don't ask!

Ive been way for a bit, but Ive just popped on to ask if anyone has tried the Mac Scentsationals? (Ugh I know, the name) they apparently complement their best selling lippies. Velvet Teddy (dds fave lippy) is very rich and spicy, too old for her, the purple one is quite fresh and green, weirdly. Not very long lasting.
I've been living in my pp dupe of Portrait of a Lady. Dh admitted he finds it too floral. Oh dear. (Tough mate)

Haven't tried LAdDM yet - expecting to be swept off my feet, although have noticed an ambergris note listed. Is this prominent? (I love amber but have a real problem with ambergris). Where are you getting your samples from - Lucky Scent?

I have to be truthful and say just how impressed i am with the two madonna perfumes, truth or dare and truth or dare naked. I love both but if pushed to picjk a favourite, it would be the original. I just love bit white flowers though i know a lot of people hate the smell. If anyone has any suggestions along the same lines, im all ears!

It's alien essence absolue intense- amazing

I need to smell this Alien thingy. Everyone really raves about it! Will be passing through a few duty frees in the next few weeks so will make a list.

MrsCocoa- mine are from AusLeibeZumDuft in Germany. I think, bar the mahoosive American sites deciding they can ship to Italy, I will stick with them, they are so lovely on the customer service front- sturdy sample bottles, a goodn squirty system, hand written labels (with unicorns!) and a lovely hand written message (in English- despite them being German and shipping to me in Italy)

Though I did have a schmooze through Alla Violetta's website (thanks to Frugal ) and may give them a go at some point- they have some more mainstream scents available as samples.

My samples outgrew their box yesterday with the latest delivery. dp thinks they are freebies

Oh- notes- It only really hits "amber" to me in the late drydown. And then a reminiscent of Opium etc waft.

It starts with a Coromandel medicinal almost "euwwww" balsamy thing, then becomes quickly spicy and warm with an extra kick that stops it being Christmas Pudding candle!

OWF I was at my mums last weekend and she had an old bottle of Truth or Dare that I had a squirt of and I loved it.

Am just catching up on this thread (the whole thing!)...am more of a lurker than a poster but I've discovered some wonderful perfumes here so I always try to keep up. I'm intrigued by the mentions of 4160 Tuesdays Mother Nature's Daughters (I think?) and Maxed Out - both sound really intriguing but even just a sample of Maxed Out is £8! Anyone able to offer any additional thoughts on these? I love The Sexiest Scent on the Planet but have been disappointed in every single other 4160 Tuesdays scent I've tried. :(

Also I have to recommend a perfume for those of you who like ambers - Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier's Ambre Mythique. It's got some sweet basenotes (tonka and vanilla) but is quite incense-y and resinous on top and it all just balances out perfectly. I would recommend it to anyone who loves LADDM - it doesn't actually smell anything like LADDM, but it has a similar feel to it. A little expensive for me to go for a FB but I am definitely considering it...

SOTD is Tauerville Vanilla Flash (DH's favourite!) - the perfect non-gourmand vanilla.

I just wish Andy Tauer had distribution in Boots. Samples are hard to get.

Could one of you lovely ladies help me with some advice about Calvin Klein Obsession Secret Femme Eau de Parfum? I've read such nice reviews about it but have never actually smelt it and wondered how you would describe it. I love rose, talcum powdery perfume and I'm hoping this fits the bill.

This: I have smelt Mother Nature's Naughty Daughters, and would thoroughly recommend if you like the darker 4160 fumes. Am gearing up to but at least 9mls.

Don't think I've smelt Maxed Out - but who could resist this concept:

I've got a Chanel no5 for christmas and I'm looking forward to that.

Maxed Out is fabulous stuff but be warned, it's very strong so one or two splashes or squirts is more than plenty! it's hard to describe how it smells as it's like nothing i've ever had before. there's a slightly medicinal kick in the beginning which is quickly replaced with something altogether headier which i know is the marijuana, it's sort of almost sickly sweet and slightly sweaty but you'd be surprised at how pleasant it is. Boozey because of the rum scent, sweet and sour at the same time, like a flashback to the night before the morning after.
