Continuing from the previous thread. It's always so lovely to see new posters come and talk perfume. Everyone is welcome. Come and tell us your SOTD ( scent of the day) or ask us anything perfumey. Someone will know the answer! Get stuck in and get sniffing. You'll find no snobbery here!

Tried L'occitane neroli orchidee today- smells really nice BUT very very similar (in my opinion/on my skin) to Chance Chanel which is what my mother wears every day....so on balance probably not the one for me. I do keep sniffing my wrist though, it reminds me of my mum (no I'm not needy at all Hmm)

VintagePerfumista · 03/12/2016 19:07

Dd has Neroli Orchidee, I must admit, when I smell it in the bottle, or the bathroom, I love it, but I know on me I would find it too sweet.

Viva La Juicy does indeed sound scary! What does it smell like?

After my shower I went shopping in Miller Harris Feuilles de Tabac. Nicer in the bottle than on the skin. It's got that aftershavey thing happening (OC- I bet you love it don't you? It reminded me of Chypre 21 and the other cedary ones)

So far, of my new samples, the one which has most "got" me has been the Le Labo Iris.

Tobee- I bet you'd like Prada Infusions d'Iris- (or rather the perfume parlour dupe I have!) it's clean and cologney and soapy, quite cologney, very light.

tobee · 03/12/2016 19:43

Vintage I'll be down the perfume department store on Monday and will squirt myself with Prada Infusions D'iris then. I like a perfume to win me over through the day, or not.....

OCSockOrphanage · 03/12/2016 20:08

Guilty as charged!, ma'am. Secret aftershave fiend!

OCSockOrphanage · 03/12/2016 20:09

Prefer Terre d'Iris though.

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 03/12/2016 20:12

Yes that was it! The fragrances were really light but actually the greenest one lastest about 2 hours on plane. I can imagine how quick they are used up though.
I like Mad Madame but never smelt pants! Will try it again tmw!
Yes viva la juicy would put me right off hushabye

tobee · 04/12/2016 14:50

Ok, so imagine you've just got an invitation to the best ever most sophisticated Christmas (evening) event and you wanted to wear your most Christmassy stylish perfume, what would it be? (Sadly my invitation to this year's event hasn't arrived yet)

VintagePerfumista · 04/12/2016 15:23

I always go for either Chanel 19 or Miss Dior Originale for "events". Especially if I need to feel confident. Neither are Christmassy though!

VintagePerfumista · 04/12/2016 16:09

SoTD Bandit sample.

I knew from reading about it it was going to be one of my "oh my word I need a FB" smell. And so it came to pass....Grin

It's sexy and sassy and chypre-y and vintage and just bloody marvellous.

OCSockOrphanage · 04/12/2016 20:19

Gentlewoman for an early evening meeting regarding a canoeing endurance race DS has signed up for, for the support crews. Lots of new folk to meet so I figured I better go safe. And it's v well-mannered, nothing to scare.

What scent for the four day event? It's long and arduous and probably smelly, so I was thinking Secretions Magnifiques which is skanky enough for boating holidays when long hot showers are infrequent rare pleasures.

OCSockOrphanage · 04/12/2016 20:20
HooArghhhEwe · 05/12/2016 03:30

SOTD is lipstick rose again.

I think I'm going to need a FB Blush

VintagePerfumista · 05/12/2016 10:00

My latest Italian ebay finds have arrived.

10ml of vintage Miss Dior (at first sniff like Originale, just richer) and about 6ml left of a 10ml bottle of Dior Dior. Very dark in bottle so was thinking it may have lost its top notes, but on first sniff, it's very splendid indeed.

MissBattleaxe · 05/12/2016 13:12

OCSockOrange- not Secretions Magnifique! It made me gag. I find it repellent and so do many others. Especially bad if you can't shower! It smells like a wanksock.

I'm wearing a lovely advent calendar sample: rituals voyage de inde I think. Anyway rather like M&S New York, I've never been but if they smell like this I'm going to go! Doubt India does in real life but perfume is warm, spicy number that seems to last well and making me feel better on a freezing Monday. Freaking love advent calendar!

VintagePerfumista · 05/12/2016 13:51

Can anyone tell me if Caleche and Caleche Eau du Soie are the same? It's my Mum's signature and I know it's years since she's had a bottle.

OCSockOrphanage · 05/12/2016 14:00

I did put a Grin on the follow up post! Maybe Salome would be better.........

AnotherPinkiePieStory · 05/12/2016 19:54

oc Shock
Pity your boat mates.

Today I stink to high heaven after one of my patients thanked me for helping him by spraying me with a generous squirt of his fancy Arabic scent. Really amazing but strong! No idea how to work out what it is but jeezo.

MrsCocoa · 05/12/2016 20:17

OC - Eau Sauvage or Cool Water might have been good options?

OCSockOrphanage · 05/12/2016 20:36

I'm supporting the crew so never in confined spaces. I wasn't serious anyway, and will probably end up choosing something more suited to rushing around on feeding my team through 125 miles of canoeing, with 77 portages on Easter weekend. They will be the smelly ones as there are no loo stops!

OCSockOrphanage · 05/12/2016 20:38

Eau d'Anything is appropriate, Mrs Cocoa! If it deters mating swans from attacking, that would be helpful too.

MrsCocoa · 05/12/2016 21:03

OC - you need 1805 Beaufort.

OCSockOrphanage · 05/12/2016 21:17

They hate it? I think I may have a sample. buried deep...

Calminaqualm · 05/12/2016 22:28

VintagePerfumista I have Caleche Soie de Parfum, but I think it may be a few years old. It smells just like I remember Caleche to be in the 70s, so I'm wondering if the only difference may be that Soie is stronger than the EDT?

Calminaqualm · 05/12/2016 22:37

I've looked up the age of my bottle of Caleche Soie de Parfum and it was made in 1997! (So not much help to you, sorry!).
