beautiful bag mara really gorgeous

glad the skirts a keeper lib

that jacket looks fab shop and really useful. beautiful and useful seems to be the hardest combination to find in things!

No fashion news to report here, still on a no spend trip and i have been really good i think. I'm even using up perfumes etc that ive been 'saving for best' for no other reason than i want to use them and smell lovely. Found some Belle de Opium i forgot i had which i think has been discontinued and i had forgotten how much i liked it.

Longislandicetee · 29/11/2016 08:43

Morning! I will be on crutches for a few weeks and at home till the new year. You may find my fashion contributions either dwindling (I didn't actually buy that much this year though) or going the other way!! I did buy a lot on Black Friday but pretty much everything was for the kids or other people's presents.

Speaking of which....Thanks Lara and Mara for the driving shoe help. He can wear the suede ones in winter can't he?

Love love love Marsha's sweater and Lib's skirt, so glad it's a keeper

Love Mara's bag. Is it heavy? I like lady like looking bags though I find them a bit impractical for me. I can imagine you with your glossy hair, a nice scarf, sunglasses etc carrying your bag and looking gorgeous.Smile

One, good for you on using perfume daily, I managed to work through most of my perfume collection in the last 2 years by doing the same thing. It's just that little bit of daily luxury.

Blair, with the cold weather, I am very glad you have your heating and water back!!

Speaking of luxury, I ignored all sense about cost and bought the chemise!

maradesbois · 29/11/2016 09:44

Morning,

Blingy gorgeous chemise, so pretty and so you. Btw dh only wears his tod's in summer, never with socks unless for travelling. Not sure if this is normal, European or just his own quirk so don't take it as gospel!

The Goyard is very light, wouldn't give arm ache like a birkin. Will use it for work (when I get work) but want to figure out how to do it more casually too. Not sure at all about the accuracy but will take that description of me!!

lib dhl man sounds like a knob who doesn't realise when his joke has gone too far, hope the frosty response to his comments shuts him up.

Shop the jacket looks perfect for you, will it be Christmas gift from dh? Well chosen mrshop if so - but hope he's bought wrapping paper Wink

High drama in our house, we have a mouse or even mice Shock. The main one is just so brazen, ran out in front of the fridge and sat still in middle of the kitchen floor when I was on a Skype call with a recruitment consultant yesterday making me scream in middle of the interview, so professional Blush. My nanny said it was running round the living room too, she tried to hit it with a broom but missed then my neighbour managed to trap it under a Lego box but it escaped and hasn't been seen since. Think the trauma of those experiences may have knocked his confidence and he's run away hopefully to tell all the other vermin out there that we are armed and dangerous. Traps are now down. Sorry for the non-vogue rodent info but am on edge!

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 29/11/2016 09:57

ew mice, i hate mice mara i hope you are rid of them/it soon. they really are brazen though and will eat/eat through anything. I don't mind them being outside in their natural habitat but i don't want them in my house eating my stuff/food. We had them when i lived with one of my brothers and i cried a lot because they freak me out so much. we did eventually get rid of them with traps etc and managed to stop them coming back apart from the odd field mouse that wandered in looking for whatever it could find.

blingy you poor thing, i hope you aren't in too much pain lovey. Yes, you're right, using up perfume is a little luxury and it does lift my my mood a bit even if i otherwise don't look or feel good. Smelling nice is just such a powerful thing, it evokes so many memories and it's just something that's important to me. I am a bit of a collector though and have an awful lot of bottles but each one is important to me for a different reason and reminds me of a different thing, time or place

libertydoddle · 29/11/2016 10:52

Oh Mara . I detest mice and worse again DH has a close to phobic level of aversion so if we get them I have to deal with it. I am sure it's happening in houses all over the place atm as it's so cold they will be looking for warm hangouts. Good luck with mission 'out, damned mouse, out I say'. Smile

Blingy I knew you'd buy that chemise! You will look fab Wink and it will distract from the crutches Grin. Seriously though I really feel for you, that kind of pain is horrible. Hopefully it will be on the mend by Christmas.

One I try to remember perfume every day too. It does make you feel good. I don't have many, mainly as it take me ages to use them. I alternate between Diptyque 34 boulevard saint germain and Jo Malone Wood sage and sea salt.

Which leads to an MNV question? Favourite perfumes! and favourite scents on your men - I'm planning to buy Tom Ford Tabacco Vanille for DH for Christmas.

Stokey · 29/11/2016 12:34

Good question Lib
My absolute favourite is Portrait of a Lady by Frederic Malle. It's a dark rose with sandalwood and patchouli, It's very warming and lasts forever - it is also extortionate so I've never managed to buy a full bottle.

It's rather old-fashioned but I love Eau Sauvage on Dh. It's very lemony at first but fades into a woody base.

Bernice Ash Virgins are quite comfy. I think they're a bit flatter and less insulated than my Stans, more like classic Converse. But I happily wore them walking round Amsterdam on a recent city break, and I always get complimented on them

Ugh mice, we have them perenially. I'm actually thinking about getting a cat to eradicate them. We've had traps and poison down, and they leave for a bit and then come back. The poison guy says it's because we leave the kitchen door open. Also if you're in a terrace, they're very tricky to get rid of, good luck.

Stokey · 29/11/2016 12:35

Sorry to hear about the crutches blingy, awful time of year to be out of action. Will you be able to go to your Christmas party?

kittyhello · 29/11/2016 14:14

Blingy sorry to hear you'll on crutches for a while, does that mean your holiday with PILs is cancelled? I knew you'd buy the chemise, don't blame you Wink

Mara such a beautiful bag and I agree with Blingy's description of how you'd look carrying it. Not good to hear about the mice, how you manage to get rid of them soon.

Marsha am loving your PS buys, beautiful lux sweater

Blair great to hear you have heat, ah bliss.

Fedup I too bought an iron on Black Friday, rock n roll Grin

Love the jacket Shop hope it's the perfect fit, good find Lara

Lib glad you're pleased with the skirt, sticks 2 fingers up to Mr DHL. In response to your question, I'm loving TF Neroli Portofino and have bought all the extras to go with it, shower gel, body spray, oil etc, thought I'd only wear it in th summer but am loving it for winter soon. Although am tempted to ask for Soleil Blanc for Christmas. Dh wears Chanel Pour Monsieur although my fave is Ralph Lauren Polo Green, I prefer a woody smell on men.

Bernice since buying my Ash Virgins I've barely taken them off, they are super comfortable and I wear them all the time. They've been great cpw for me and will definitely get another pair when I've worn these ones out.

Phew mammoth post, wore my MaxMara coat today for the first time in ages, I'd forgotten how great it still looks 15 years down the line Shock

AmberNectarine · 29/11/2016 14:20

Hello all

It was such an amazing night - we were front row and I even spoke to most of the celebs (including Danny Mac, I think we'll get married now). Totally worth the early start.

Now mired in decluttering as the house is going on the market on Monday. Not so fun. Hopefully will be worth it in the spring when we've moved in to the new place

I have lots of perfumes. Currently alternating between Coco Mademoiselle (I always have this in stock), Burberry Body, Jimmy Choo Illicit, Jo Malone Red Roses and Juliette has a Gun Miss Charming. Can you tell I like orientals & florals?!

maradesbois · 29/11/2016 18:31

Sounds fab Amber

kitty dh wears pour monsieur, know nothing about perfume so can't tell you about it but love that it's very unobtrusive. I alternate between Chanel no. 5 (original one none of this newfangled business-if you only use a little it's not too strong) in winter and kenzo parfum d'été in spring/summer. Another scent I love is hermès eau d'orange verte, dh brings me home the sample bottles when he stays at sofitel, have a big stash of them and sometimes wash ds's hair with it, decadent!

No more mouse sightings but don't think it's touched the poison. We live in a terrace too Stokey, the little fecker is running between us and immediate neighbours.

Kitty love things like that, proper quality investment buys that you wear for years. Is it a camel coat?

shopafrolic · 29/11/2016 18:32

Lara the jacket is enormous :(
I look as though I have bought it from a charity shop which is a shame as in the right size I think it would be perfect.
Harvey Nics don't do exchanges which is a complete PITA so I have missed out on the opportunity for a discount. Will have to return and take a closer look when next in town..... frustratedShop

Larastheme · 29/11/2016 20:27

shop oh no Sad, it looked perfect for you, i actually went to IM boutique this morning and saw both jackets,i wanted to get the Haldon ,but it was all SO ,only size avalable was a 40, they also had a beautiful double breasted one, but it was too long for me.

If you are going to London in the next week or so matches have sent me a code < no idea why! ,haven't shopped with them in ages> I can PM to you if you are interested?

shopafrolic · 29/11/2016 20:32

It is perfect Lara just not size wise. The code would be great if possible (if it's transferable?). I am due in London next week so could take a look. Flowers

Larastheme · 29/11/2016 21:08

shopafrolic · 29/11/2016 21:29

£100 - Jo Malone perfume
£250 - Artis make up brushes
£500 - Gucci cuff

Longislandicetee · 30/11/2016 08:29

Morning all!

Very tired this morning as we had a family birthday celebration dinner for my niece. She got such beautiful bling from me, her mum and my mum. All very different but all lovely. Plus a gorgeous LV pochette, highlands, etc. Those of you who know me well know that my family do birthdays in a big wayGrin

Made me laugh that a few of you guessed I would get the chemise. Showed dh a picture of it (with price carefully hidden!) and his eyes lit up.Grin

Mara you poor thing with micegate. . Glad to hear the Goyard is light, would love to see it at a future MU. Weight is exactly my problem with the Burkin. Looks good but very impractical!

Lara well done for coming through twice for Shop!!

Lib dh was complaining that I haven't bought him any scents for years so I have just bought him Tom Ford's Oud Wood. I think he will smell yummy with it on freaks out Shop.

I am currently working my way through Hugo Woman (liked it when I bought it, but not me now). I got given Cerrutti 1881 for Christmas a couple of years ago which I loved using and have just bought a new bottle. My new favourite is jour d'Hermes which is my purse perfume. Also use the mini Jo Malone's as my purse perfumes too. Sorry long answer!

shopafrolic · 30/11/2016 09:13

Blingy if he doesn't like it I'll have it :)

Everyonelovessparkles · 30/11/2016 09:17

blingy glad you had a good time last night. Sounds like your niece got some lovely things. Hope you aren't suffering too much though your bank balance might if you are housebound for a while Smile

Fingers crossed the new coat fits shop.

Glad you had a good time at strictly amber. Good luck with the decluttering!

My favourite perfume is marc Jacobs's daisy and I have several of its incarnations on the go. When I was younger I used to have a vast selection but now seem to stick to one or two favourites. I also like the YSL Elle. When I was a lot younger Georgio Beverly Hills in the yellow and white box was my favourite and if I ever smell it, it takes me back. Don't really have a specific favourite for DH, he tends to vary what he uses so I can't keep up with his current choice!

Am on the way to Paris for a department seminar so will have a think about shop's question. OOTD is black leather skirt, KM colour block polo neck and patent flats. Bag is black Bayswater and berry tote with ted baker jacket and berry checked scarf. Feel all cosy and festive!

shopafrolic · 30/11/2016 09:18

Jacket ordered in a 38 - thanks again Lara fingers crossed.......

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 30/11/2016 10:27

Hope the jacket saga has a happy ending shop :)

Blingy sorry to hear you'll be off work til new year, that was me this time last year, it was depressing. Will you be doing anything remotely or just resting? Hope you improve asap and well done on the gorgeous chemise Wink

Oh no about the mice mara! Touch wood, we haven't had them yet but I'd be straight onto poison/traps. Hope they're gone soon! And the Goyard is of course as gorgeous as expected when you described it, so classy and very special.

I'm not especially into perfume and only own 5, 2 of them were bought this year. DH has loads, his daily is Chanel Homme Sport and for special occasions Hermes Eau Pamplemousse Rose. He wanted Creed Aventus for Christmas but I read that it wasn't worth the stupid price (more than Hermes) so I found 2.5ml samples at half price and bought a load Blush

Will have a think on shop's Christmas present challenge!

libertydoddle · 30/11/2016 10:38

Your outfit sounds lovely Everyone, very chic as befits a trip to Paris!

My list of treats...

£25 - Mio liquid yoga bath soak
£50 - A massage
£100 - Cashmere scarf
£250 - Balenciaga bracelet (under budget, could use the balance to top up the scarf fund Wink
£500 - Classic jacket like this Max Mara one

libertydoddle · 30/11/2016 10:43

Blair I have just ordered a few Tom Ford samples for DH Grin. I was just about to order it for him when I paused and thought 'what if the fussy bugger doesn't like it?'. So now have several sample sizes on the way for him to try out first and for me to sniff it on him which is the really important bit
