Need to write more tomorrow as little bits keep popping back in my head.
Lib what did you end up buying in spaceNK? And what was the free gift? After the panic of losing my purse I missed it....

maradesbois · 13/11/2016 21:42

Evening Voguettes!

Would've loved to stay out longer last night with the hardcore crew but was knackered and prosecco'd out. Dh had been food shopping but only seemed to have bought cheese, albeit a fine selection! Hoovered up a sizeable quantity of truffled brie which must have helped as head felt fine this morning.

Lovely to see you all as always, had some great chats and fab to meet the lovely Everyone. Thoroughly enjoyed draping myself in Amber's burgundy fur scarf too. Don't like faux fur as a rule but that was good stuff.

Am in bed already, decadently browsing jewellery websites - blame Blingy and her beautiful new ring! Would love something in yellow gold, on lust list is classic Cartier juste un clou bracelet. Also branching out into edgier territory love lots of Delfina Delettrez's stuff, particularly this bee earring and the dots rings.

QueenC you were indeed missed as were you Blair and all the others who couldn't make it.

Drywhitethanks · 13/11/2016 21:45

Now I'm remembering little things from yesterday.....Kitty you've now made me NEED a cream long line roll neck, think I'm going to try to wear my leather trousers more after all your kind comments.
I'm also obsessing about Mara's lovely high block heeled ankle boots and dress and looking for something similar.
Completely shattered today........but indulging in my other guilty pleasure, I'm a Celebrity Grin
Dream you are funny, and every time I see you I mean to say how stunning your solitaire pendant is.
Liberty I'm now also needing a butterfly pendant necklace Hmm
Mara your handbag is safe in my cupboard, huge thanks again for your kindness x

AmberNectarine · 13/11/2016 21:50

Scarf link as I know it got a lot of love!

shopafrolic · 13/11/2016 22:13

Ooo yes Lib your necklace was so pretty and Kitty your blouse was a beaut.
I saw some faux fur being passed around - what did I miss?

libertydoddle · 13/11/2016 23:28

Thanks Amber. I have pinned that scarf to my Christmas present shortlist!

The necklace is from Accessorise, I've had it for several months though and it's not on the website. It gets comments every time I wear it. It's very me. Actually there's a MNV question (I'm not going to answer now, will need to think) but what 5 items in your wardrobe do people have that 'this is me' feeling about?

Shop I bought By Terry touche-veloutee as per the recommendation from you and Justa. Laura Mercier candleglow perfecting powder and Ren 1 minute facial which I've had before and really like. The free gift (for spending over £100) is a goody bag of 12 decent samples. It includes a mini By Terry mascara, a liquid eyeliner, Hourglass primer, a couple of serums, a facial oil, Algenist eye cream, a body wash, micellear water, sample of Diptyque 34 perfume. It's seriously good IMO.

QueenCobalt · 14/11/2016 07:34

I was also trying on a friends faux fur scarf at the weekend trying to work out if it was me (was hard to tell as it was an autumn colour and so frankly looked rubbish on me). She's such a stylish lady and I admit to having a slight girl crush on her wardrobe. Shes also made me lust after a green coat.

lib will return later to answer your question

FedupNagging · 14/11/2016 08:16

I've not heard of Delfina Delettrez Mara so just had a look at some of her pieces - they're rather quirky but I really like them - love the eye ring. The cartier bangle - stunning.

Love a packed goody bag Lib and yours from Space NK sounds lush - makes up for not getting the M&S advent calendar.

Queen glad you had a good weekend - I suspect you had better weather than us.

One do you move soon? It's better to have a celebration, or two when you have the time to enjoy them rather than squashed in between other, frankly, stressy, events.

Slightly off topic but did anyone watch Planet Earth last night? How beautiful were the flamingos? This is only 'slightly' off topic as I know Amber has a couple of clothing items featuring flamingos! sketchy logic

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 14/11/2016 08:56

fedup i move mid january, i'm in the process of packing, sorting,t hrowing out and decorating the flat ready to rent it out. we have a tenant lined up so that at least is sorted, just got to get the place up to scratch!i know you're right and better to celebrate when there's proper time to, i just get a bit grumpy about my birthday as it's always the one that gets forgotten!

shopafrolic · 14/11/2016 10:06

Lib that is a great goody bag. Let me know your thoughts on the LM powder could you? I have the Hourglass ones on my Christmas list but they are £££. I have that Space NK palette on my wishlist now that Sleep and I were lusting after, and also a Diptyque Ambre candle which Sleep pointed out smells exactly like Calvin Klein obsession.
I bought this ruffle sleeved jumper on Saturday - a bit of a departure for me but I love it. Got home drunk and told DH he had bought it for me for Christmas! So it is now hidden away (and he has promised to wrap it) Grin

libertydoddle · 14/11/2016 10:56

fedup that's exactly how I justified the Space NK splurge!! I'd have had to spend £70 to get the M&S one getting clothes I don't really need and I'd only use about half the products I think. Whereas the Space NK stuff is all things I need/want/will use and I'll use everything in the goody bag - result!

Shop give me a few more days on the LM powder. It feels lovely, it doesn't have a sponge or brush in the compact so not so good for out and about as I'd have to keep a brush in my bag too. The colour is an amazing match for my skin and does have a nice look, it's not powdery looking IYKWIM, I hate that 'powder sitting in wrinkles' look. I'm happy so far but will reserve judgement. The touch veloutee is fantastic!

Ruffled sleeve jumper looks good, you can definitely pull it off.

My 5 'me' items are:

  1. The accessorise 'insect' necklace - think it works as it pretty, autumn colours and slightly old fashioned / vintage looking - like an old brooch.
  2. R&B chelsea boots. Good colour for me, not too high, classic looking
  3. Navy and gold Toast dress Good shape for me, has pockets. Always feel dressed up but not overdone in this. Gets positive comments every time I wear it.
  4. Etoile IM belt. Curvy buckle and burnished gold tone keeps it more 'romantic' looking but still classic.
  5. Suede biker I was so disappointed that the rain meant I couldn't consider wearing this on Saturday. I love biker shape jackets and the colour of this and the fact it's suede makes gives it a softer vibe which I think suits me.
BerniceBobsHerHair · 14/11/2016 11:12

Hello
Wow guys what a lot to catch up on, sounds like you had a good meet up and some lovely clothes were worn.

Betty what top were you wearing as it is getting a lot of love, I'm intrigues - and Mara what dress were you weaqring?

Amber I've admired those Helen Morre scarves (online) before. Silly question but how do you wear it? I've got a cheap NL version but always seem to be fussing with it when I wear it.

Waves frantically to Lara - nice to see you back. I quite like the stepped hem jeans, they do seem to be everywhere atm though. I find Vetements very 'emperor's new clothes' actually - DHL t-shirt anyone?

Glad you are enjoying your job Marsha - I'm not so keen on mine but will stick it for a while before seeing if I can move to something else. Love your recent purchases - and what bag did you have at the MU? Glad you didn't lose it!!

Blair hope you are okay, haven't seen you on here since boilergate.

Lib I would have liked to see your mac in the flesh - I am considering one too.

Blingy pin isn't working for me so I can't see your latest bling - intrigued to see you choosing something less 'classic'.

Mara love your jewellery picks - haven't seen that 'clou' ring before, it's a good mix of simple and quirky. Like the others too, the bee earring is really nice.

Thinking about your question Lib...I felt very 'me' in a recent outfit: Hudson fringe boots, indigo jeans, navy jumper, leopard bag, smart grey coat - I like to wear fairly classic with a few quirky accessories. But to narrow down to 5 bits from my wardrobe, I would say: Hudson fringed boots, eley kishimoto vans, superstars and now for some non-shoes! other stories dress and a crombie / blazer style coat (I have a couple that fit the bill so not picking a particular one). Hard to narrow it down to 5, could also have picked wool cigarette trousers, green herringbone scarf, Navy Zatchels saddle bag...the list goes on...

QueenCobalt · 14/11/2016 11:40

Like some of you, I decided against this years m&s calendar. I love some of the bits and it was exciting to open with dd but I don't want to pay £35 for it. lib I'd also be interested to se what you think of the LM powder.
fedup weather on Saturday morning wasn't great but the afternoon was dry so nice to wander around the shops (lots of lovely gift/home shops in my friends town) and yesterday was perfect winter walk weather.

My 5 items are:
Plain navy blouses-too many to choose just one, but plain always feels more me than patterned
Cobalt cardi-my favourite cardi of the lot
Most of my jewellery-again too many pieces to pick just one from but probably my charm bracelet and my new star necklace. And my Tiffany initial necklace.
Shoes-either the LK Bennett pink bow flats, the office velvet ones or the topshop sparkly
A really old monsoon black dress-I think I wore it to our evening mu. Love it everytime I put it on

maradesbois · 14/11/2016 12:06

Morning All,

Lib good question. Would be interesting to have someone else's take on it but off the top of my head I would say:

  1. Man's watch - I alternate between a reverso grand taille and submariner. Noticed btw that Marsha had a lovely blue watch strap on sat.
  2. Bretons - favourites are petit bateau, armor-lux and apc
  3. Silk prints, very picky about prints but have several by equipment and marni which I love including this dress which wore to the mu Bernice. Styling is awful here, I wear it buttoned up to the top with opaques and brogues or black ankle boots like on Saturday.
  4. Hermès accessories - leather bracelets, enamel bangles and scarves.
  5. Blazers with jeans and trainers, also check shirts but that would be 6...

Like the sound of your Space NK buys lib, interested to know your opinion of the Laura mercier powder. Read an article recently about candlelight powders and that came out on top.

Am on my way to check out Marant sale, want to keep spends low as possible this month but can't bear missing out on a bargain. Have in mind a couple of things I want and not going to be swayed by temptation, will link later if anything to report. Also going for a glycolic peel later, wish had been pre-mu, love the fresh glow it gives my skin for a few days afterwards.

maradesbois · 14/11/2016 12:08

*grande taille

shopafrolic · 14/11/2016 12:35

Mine would be

  1. Leather trousers
  2. Black polo neck
  3. Black blazer
  4. Gucci cuff watch
  5. Skinny jeans

How dull!

shopafrolic · 14/11/2016 13:36

For the fashion book lovers

kittyhello · 14/11/2016 14:29

Bernice here's the Primarni blouse I was wearing on Saturday, I wore mine with grey skinnies and grey Pistols ruffle blouse

I bought it August time, sadly Primark seem to change their stock on a weekly basis

Mara I just knew your dress would have been Marni, their prints really suit you.

My 5 me items are:
Pistols
Black 7/8 cigarette pants
Tippy sweaters
Black blazer
Cross body bag

After Saturday I feel like I need a wardrobe revival, will link a few bits once I've secured them!

FedupNagging · 14/11/2016 14:41

I have been pondering your question all morning Lib and my 5 items are:

Jumpers
Ankle grazers
bretons
biker style jackets
scarves

The above is pretty much what I'm wearing today - black boden ankle zip jeans, black stripe polo neck from Uniqlo (purchased on Sat) and black faux leather biker and grey cashmere scarf when I went out earlier. With pink lipstick.

OP posts:
AmberNectarine · 14/11/2016 14:51

Bernice it used to annoy the shit out of me because it was always falling off one shoulder, so I bought a large hook and eye and attached it to either side so it just clasps in the middle. Then really easy to wear!

Lib mine are:

  • Faux fur coats of all varieties - always feel glam in one
  • Leather leggings - go with anything from a sweatshirt and trainers to heels and a sparkly too.
  • black bodycon dresses - always my go to for a night out
  • pointy stilettos - my favourite shoe style
  • Cuff bracelets - I wear my Tiffany bone cuff or rockstud ones nearly every day. Hardly ever wear necklaces or earrings but I love a cuff.
AmberNectarine · 14/11/2016 14:52

Secret item number six - micro bags. I have so many small crossbody bags but I use them all the time!

Dreamqueen · 14/11/2016 15:50

My 5 are

  1. black dresses (automatically feel smartly dressed)
2.Pistols (my new love) 3.bretons 4.red lipstick 5.jewelley / nice glasses
maradesbois · 14/11/2016 16:20

Amber aha, cunning, I thought it just came like that, they really should.

Marant trip was pretty uneventful. Wasn't in the mood for shopping so cba trying anything on but got some good basics:

cream skinny poloneck bought it in grey too. Good for winter layering.

burgundy belt - actually bought this a couple of weeks ago but don't think I linked, its really useful.

libertydoddle · 14/11/2016 17:07

Great 5 item summaries! Love how distinctive everyone's style is.

Bernice you linked those Hudson fringed boots before and I am always tempted...

Good Marant basics Mara.

QueenCobalt · 14/11/2016 17:11

Love hearing everyone's 5 items. ''Twas a good question lib
shop thanks for the book links-they will probably make their way onto my Xmas list.

I did a bit of shopping last week. this blouse I got in monsoon. Popped in for a quick browse as was in town buying Krispy creme donuts for dd. The pine green makes a change from navy.
