Beachy, look after yourself, it is very wearing living on high alert. I agree about organising things and then cancelling if need be, but that is tiring too. Hope things are OK.

Auriga, it sounds wonderful. I heard the radio thing too, made me well up.

Stropps, hope the prodigal has returned OK. I went to see my dd yesterday - she seems fine if worried about work etc. Hatty, that sounds like an excellent start - ds will probably put York down so any views welcome!

Not caught up...

motherinferior · 03/10/2016 10:05

DP is off to a conference in Turin.Envy

I am attempting to regain the plot, after conceding that my grasp on it is a little tenuous at the moment.

Rosebag · 03/10/2016 10:22

Crawling briefly from under a pile of scripts. Rewrite is done. Am having a day off for New Year. Sexy Young Director wanted to have a meeting today. No. just no. Will catch up later. Love to all Crepeys xxx

wordassociationfootball · 03/10/2016 17:42

Where is everyone?

I'm meeting my bestie for dinner and just had another friend of very long standing round for a cuppa, which has been and will be very lovely.

FleshEmoji · 03/10/2016 17:53

Hello, can I join in? I'm pretty crepey.

We're off tonight to try Skeptics in the Pub - a talk about how the brain changes when it learns.

Lalsy · 03/10/2016 18:04

Welcome! I keep meaning to go to one of their talks. They do great work.

motherinferior · 03/10/2016 18:09

I'm here. Not waving but not quite drowning. And welcome!

Here, in body if not in spirit. Dragging self to choir, as will be at The Reading next Monday evening!

Had a lovely lesson with my learners today. Felt very guilty at the thought of leaving them if I get this job. That's how us do-gooding types get trapped, isn't it. They underpay and overwork us, but we can't leave because of our loyalty to the learners.

Stropperella · 03/10/2016 21:12

For anyone wondering, dd went back to university today. Nice day yesterday: family lunch out and then the cinema. A more relaxing day as a family than we've had for a long time. Dd was fully present and chatting to us properly. I think she now realises that running away and hiding from things she finds difficult is not the way forward.

Beachy, you have my sympathy. I would just say that with anxiety, pressure makes it worse, but so does avoidance. There is a middle way that has to be found between the two. Finding it is the very hard part.

Lalsy · 03/10/2016 21:23

Stropps, fab news. And wise words.

MI, whassup?

motherinferior · 03/10/2016 21:31

Oh, I'm just cold, and the usual hot flushes on top of being cold, and trying to block out a chunk of novel. Plus the work sitch. I feel old and cold and grumpy.

Lalsy · 03/10/2016 21:36

Sounds like you need a Small Treat. Anything looming?

I am hot and grumpy and in an extremely argumentative mood, especially when it comes to men telling me things I already know because they assume I couldn't.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 03/10/2016 22:31

That's a v long link... but it don't work MI!

Happy New Year Rose!
Which of us are going to Roses's reading next week? I'm really looking forward to it Rose.

All good here - a bit same old same old. We took PFB ds back to University yesterday . Miss him but it's nothing like last year's sob fest. He's messaged me to say he's a bit bored and looking forward to term proper starting in a few days time. That's my boy!

Snuggle up under a blanket MI with a hottie. take it easy if you feel crap.

A subdued woohoo for your dd Stropps.

Wishing you better Herbs. X

GiddyGiddyGoat · 03/10/2016 22:32

Didn't mean to say your name quite so many times Rose!

addle · 03/10/2016 22:37

Wise words, Stropps, and good to hear about your DD

Have helped DD clear out three (3, iii) large bags of clothes yesterday and today like Is wonderful (small horizons) - BTM and Molly will know how much I was looking forward to it on our lovely walk

And Lalsy helped me sort IT problem by insisting I read the instructions properly rather than screeching in outrage at what I thought they said.Thank you, thank you

What dress, MI?

GGG - I'm going to Rose's reading!

Collymollypuff · 03/10/2016 23:03

I just want to say how grateful I am to Addle and BTM for walking with me round BP - I felt so much better afterwards that even dh noticed. Shock Also I bought mucho lovely stuff in the market Addle recommended. Smile

I saw Rose's fantastic play in an earlier iteration, and would have loved to see it again but have a commitment it's hard to wriggle out of on that night. Sad But delighted that it's all sold out - you lot are in for a treat. I shall expect full info.

CointreauVersial · 03/10/2016 23:20

Good evening, and goodnight, crepeys. I'm about to hit the hay, as my cold is still lingering (now at the croaky/crusty stage).

DH survived his first day at the new company - poor chap was really quite nervous this morning. He said it was like moving up to secondary school - your friends have come with you, but the environment is totally unfamiliar, and your reputation at the old place counts for nothing. As long as he doesn't get caught behind the bike sheds....Wink

Auriga · 04/10/2016 00:33

Choir was great. Please do come to our concert if you can, it's going to be Big Fun.

MRI was OK, though I can see why people find it so difficult. Worst bit for me was getting on and off couch (pain is awful atm).

Sorry I won't make the reading, Rose, but will be thinking of you & hope for a full debrief.

There's a hilarious thread about people whose cats stare at them in the bath, if you need some gentle distraction. I'm smiling quietly to myself at the thought of the cat who requires disposable razors to be floated in the bathwater, so that he can fish for them Grin

MrsSchadenfreude · 04/10/2016 02:23

I have fried green tomatoes and wine. And have fled the cooking for Charleston.

I am in the middle of worst week of the year and difficult team member sitch, combined with iPad update crashing my iPad so it won't move off the apple logo - damn you apple don't roll out crappy updates. Would love to see roses play but can't.
Rudy and Stropps glad things are generally better....
Counting down to dog...,

Cremolafoam · 04/10/2016 07:26

Rudy, bd, mi and all those struggling I hear you and am sorry. I am ready to join you tbh. Five days of insanity in work plus DM and ddad cooped up and going crazy ready to murder each other and have decided to blame dsis ( weeping) and pull me in to take sides. Joy.
Am shattered.

Rose have been thinking about the reading since yesterday and I am so very excited for you. Break a leg lovely!
