Favourite summer purchase has to be my Sam Edelman gladiators have worn them so much.bakso my Hush red dress and last years black version is still going strong.
The only thing I haven't worn is my Boden black ruched top I was carrying too much weight when we went on holiday and it wasn't very flattering. 5lbs down this month and it looks much better. We're away at half term so will take if then.

libertydoddle · 24/09/2016 08:50

Just leave it Vegas. I don't think it matters if it's unwashed when colour goes on and will get washed anyway in the process. I could do with a colour and cut too. Must book in.

Fedup how annoying that recent purchases haven't worked out. I've done ok lately. Only thing I regret is a linen knit cardigan from TKMaxx. It's lovely but catches on everything and I get pulls in the fabric every single time I wear it so it will probably get charity shopped.

Busy day today and DH and I are going out for dinner in central London tonight to celebrate 10th wedding anniversary. V excited!!! Trying to persuade him to wear a nice jacket. DD is appalled. She can't believe we are doing something without her Grin

Nice Liberty what will you wear --pic please?-/

Longislandicetee · 24/09/2016 09:25

Morning! Is it your anniversary today Lib??? Happy anniversary babe!FlowersFlowersFlowersFlowers

I just looked at my summer purchases and realised that I haven't really bought any clothes. It's more been accessories. So, the purchase that I have loved the most are my Valentino shoes, I think a few of you enabled that one!Grin

Dh and I were out last night and I got to wear this Michael Kors dress with my new Aquazzura shoes and Louboutin clutch. Dh said I looked hot. Grin Ever since someone stood on my gold bangle watch at a party last year and it became mishappen, I have been trying to find a replacement. Would love to have had one for this outfit.

Bernice many congrats on the job! Much love to Mara, One and any other sicklies.

Stokey · 24/09/2016 09:36

Happy anniversary Lib , have a lovely night Wine. Ours is next year, in September too.

Great outfit Blingy

I've loved that dress too Viva. Definitely don't wash your hair, they'll do it after the colour.

HappyGirlNow · 24/09/2016 09:53

Happy anniversary lib Grin

blingy love the Aquazzura shoes!

DH and I have a black tie event tonight.. I am thinking of wearing this Zara dress - I have it in black and red so not sure which colour. But I'll need to try them on as I've got about 1/2 stone to shift so I may well look like an overstuffed sausage in them! Sad

Will either have this Gucci bag or this YSL bag as a clutch

And high heels of course! Grin Maybe these Zara ecru beauties or these Zara red heels Or I may wear black caged heels.. Have these Zara black heels and these multi coloured Zara heels but prefer sandals when I can get away with them. I really should have Zara shares! Blush

On a non-fashion note.. Our planning application went to committee this week and was fully approved!! So I'm currently immersed in kitchen send bifold brochures! Already ordered my lighting in case it goes out of stock - sooo excited! Grin

FedupNagging · 24/09/2016 10:20

Congratulations Lib, happy anniversary Flowers. Have a lovely evening.

Fab outfit last night Blingy - I absolutely love your bag and shoe collection!
And yours Happy! Great news on the planning app.

Am finally wearing these pointy flats with black BR ankle grazers and james perse s/s grey jumper and obviously a giant purple scarf!

HappyGirlNow · 24/09/2016 10:23

Ooh like the flats fed

Dreamqueen · 24/09/2016 11:56

Happy Anniversary Lib hope you have a lovely night out.

This morning I decided to get toileteries etc ready for upcoming holiday. I'm trying to be more minimalistic in packing but seem to have failed miserably.

But I still have time to cull.
What is your bare minimum of toiletries that you take on hols? My pile of stuff is frightening. Dry* I know you struggled with your packing for your cruise so I'm hoping someone will have a minimal list for me.

QueenCobalt · 24/09/2016 13:53

Congrats on the job bernice. What sort of things do you need to wear for work?
fedup, shame the trousers don't work. Are they the ones you bought with me and dry?

I think pretty much everything I bought in the summer has been worn lots. Some of the summer tops haven't been worn that often but that's mainly a weather thing.

dream, depends where you're going? In hot places I take very little as wear sunscreen during the day and then just a moisturiser in the evening. Then shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body moisturiser. If somewhere like here then I have my eye cream and serum too. I don't use a huge amount of products.

I looked at myself today and feel I look really old. I'm not doing too bad wrinkles wise but the texture of my skin is changing and becoming much drier and redder. I even put tinited moisturiser on today which is unheard of for me during daytime but I've noticed that my usual powder is starting to look flaky. I'm also getting increasingly depressed about the increasing weight around my stomach. It's becoming harder and harder to shift it and even when I do it comes back incredibly easy. I think I just have to accept that I'm about 3-4 lbs heavier than I was a couple of years ago and that trying to maintain my prechild weight isn't necessarily going to happen anymore.

Sorry for the essay, just feeling down on myself. Not helped by the fact that my hair is desperate for a cut and my eyebrows are straggly and my eyelashes pale (all being rectified on Thursday!) and because I've got an eye infection i can't even wear mascara.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 24/09/2016 14:24

Happy anniversary Lib! Have a lovely evening.

QueenC maybe you just need a different moisturiser? You will feel better on Thursday I'm sure :)

Great news Happy.

Funny that you should mention immunity supplements Stokey... last year my immune system was shot to pieces and I've been taking multivitamins, extra vit C, and zinc every day for about a year. DH has had a stinking cold all this week and I haven't got it yet, I'm absolutely staggered. I am a cheapskate so these are just from waitrose.

Realised i have only bought about 20 items this year! Best is probably my Uniqlo dresses. Wish I had got more than 2 colours/fabrics. I'm not disappointed with any of my 2016 buys. Yay!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 24/09/2016 14:31

Dream, re toiletries -

Make up remover
Deodorant
Cleanser
Moisturiser
2 x prescribed creams for my skin
Neostrata SPF for face (tinted, acts as primer)
Shampoo
Conditioner
Contacts (+ spare in wash bag)
Contacts solution
Saline
Other SPF (for chest, neck, hands)
Eye drops
Lip balm
Makeup: concealer, mascara, 1 lipstick, undereye primer, blusher, brow pencil

...is my bare minimum toiletries, and I can fit all that into hand luggage plastic bags as long as I am going away with DH Wink Everything is decanted (get them from Boots) or travel size.

VivaVegas · 24/09/2016 15:15

Queen rest assured you will feel better after Thursday. For one reason and another I was very overdue my hair and beauty appointments. Leg and eyebrow wax on Thursday and hair cut and colour just done and I feel (and look hopefully!) so much better.
I need to prioritise making sure these are booked in more regularly going forward!

libertydoddle · 24/09/2016 15:29

Thanks for all the anniversary wishes. We are very unromantic and rarely celebrate it so this dinner is a big deal!! And babysitter is difficult as DH hates the idea of a stranger (via sitters for example) and we have no family around. But a friend of mine is coming over and staying the night. Not sure what to wear actually....

QueenCobalt · 24/09/2016 16:14

Forgot to say happy anniversary lib. Have a lovely time later.

Maybe I do need a new moisturiser. One for mature skin!

libertydoddle · 24/09/2016 16:32

Have you tried facial oils QueenC? I use nuxe one at night a couple of times a week and it really seems to help.

OP posts:
libertydoddle · 24/09/2016 16:35

I should say...I feel like my skin is starting to show my age too, lots of freckle sunspots popping up and I look more drawn when i'm tired. Hate to say this but laying off the booze helps too!!!

OP posts:
FedupNagging · 24/09/2016 18:44

Yes Queen it was those trousers. I should probably have sized down even more than I did. Still, I will save them for holiday wear I think.

I have a fair few sunspots on my face now so have only been using a moisturiser with spf for a number of years plus when I remember clinique city block - I'm not too keen on it though as it feels heavy. I agree with Lib that an oil is good at night - I use a decleor one. Oh and definitely no face powder as it just shows all the lines and cracks!

Have you decided what to wear tonight yet Lib?

justasecond · 24/09/2016 20:32

Happy anniversary lib hope you are having a lovely evening with your dh.
Happy that is an amazing zara haul, those dresses are gorgeous.
Queenc hope you feel better about yourself soon, I agree with fed up ditch the powder it is the worst for dry skin. Maybe try a serum? I use the deciem hylamide subq which has made a visible difference to the texture of my skin.
fed up l have changed my mind about backless loafers, may go for some next year!
Thanks for all the well wishes, after dosing myself up on iron for the last few days I am feeling miles better. Infection seems to be gone too at last!

I went shopping yesterday, I really enjoyed a day out on my own. I bought some loafers from Hobbs
loafers I am sort of undecided so need to try on with stuff. Would wear mainly with black trousers and dark skinnies.
Saw some lovely things in Cos, there is lots in my favourite and most flattering shade of blush pink
www.cosstores.com/gb/Women/Knitwear/Ribbed_collar_tunic/46889-51642865.1#c-24479 bought this]] I promise it looks better irl!
I looked for some medium wash straight leg ankle length jeans but couldn't find any straight leg jeans at all. Anyone seen any?

Longislandicetee · 25/09/2016 09:07

Morning! Who doesn't love a Sunday morning birthday party?Hmm

Happy loved all your Zara links yesterday, what did you choose in the end?

QueenC, I found myself nodding along to your post. I used to have abs and a 6 pack. I am trying to reconcile myself to that 4 lbs, I just can't shift which sits on my tummy, but can't seem to do it. I started doing sit ups a few days ago as my last ditch effort to shift it. I am in pain as I write this.Blush Hope you feel brighter today. The thing is having met up with you, and seen hundreds of pictures of you over the last few years, I would honestly never know, as you look so well put together.

HappyGirlNow · 25/09/2016 10:17

Thanks justa and blingy Grin

I ended up going with different shoes altogether! Zara sandals (see photo) I bought in July, they were surprisingly comfy!

I went with the black dress - love it, so flattering and material is really supportive lol Looks much more expending than it was..

Went with Gucci mini soho - love that bag!

I felt good considering I'd really like to lose 1/2 stone!

*expending = expensive obvs Smile

QueenCobalt · 25/09/2016 10:54

Thanks blingy. Half the problem is that if I wasn't so obsessed with the numbers on the scales I probably wouldn't notice as much. I really should ditch them but do uses them too so the temptation to weight myself daily is too much.
happy glad you had fun. Great outfit.
lib how was your night? You may be right about an oil. I might try one.

What's everyone up to today? Lazy day here although have loads to do around the house but can't quite muster up the enthusiasm for it. I was looking no forward to sitting down and reading the style mag but it's the men's edition. Hate it when they do that!

Dreamqueen · 25/09/2016 12:20

Thanks QueenC & Blair for info. Working from your list, I've scaled down my essentials. Going away for 2 weeks seems to encourage me to pack the entire contents of the bathroom cabinet Smile

Love the outfit choice Happy

Hope your night out was great Lib

Glad you're feeling better Justa I love your Cos jumper.

QueenC I use the facial oil & night cream from the Pure M&S range. It's a reasonable price (quite often on 3 for 2) & suits my aged skin.

HappyGirlNow · 25/09/2016 15:27

I'm just chilling QueenC - husband is away on an overnight as he has a track day at Cadwell Park tomorrow so I am just lazing about on the couch and our 4 dogs are lazing about too.. Watching Come Dine WIth Me and Location Location Location and A Place in the Sun the programmes I've sky+ - bliss!! Grin

I also have loads I could be doing..
