Sounds like my DH Amber, oblivious really although your DH is more clued up I think.

Film plot indeed Mara, not sure whether I was more upset about the dress or missing the bride's entrance to the Beatles though!

Love my leather skirt although have to breathe in a lot when standing Grin

Drywhitethanks · 14/10/2016 19:33

this is my birthday dress it's very me, beautiful fit, love the colour. LI have Pour La Victoire shoes in exactly the same colour. I have a long return period in case I find anything better.......sexier?

Also, has anyone seen any animal print ghillie type shoes? TS did some but sold out. Fancy a cheap pair.

Everyonelovessparkles · 14/10/2016 20:29

Lovely dress dry and glad that it's a nice fit. I think when something fits perfectly it makes you feel really good.

Have a good weekend blair hope the weather stays dry for you.

Grin at your DH. Mine is pretty clueless about my wardrobe too.

Everyonelovessparkles · 14/10/2016 20:30

That last comment was meant for amber. Sorry!

AmberNectarine · 14/10/2016 20:48

To be fair to DH, my wardrobe is a bit of a moving feast so I can't blame him! Even I'm constantly rediscovering stuff. Found a snakeskin Dior bag that my parents gave me for my 18th while rooting around today and earlier this week I uncovered a red tasselled Mulberry I'd ENTIRELY forgotten about.

AmberNectarine · 14/10/2016 20:54

Boden?

Merriboo · 14/10/2016 21:16

everyone no 1970 doesn't have a special meaning, but I like the jumper in red. I like that rainbow one too.
amber love the new additions.😳 At finding bags like those!! 😆

Longislandicetee · 14/10/2016 21:20

Saw dh this evening for the first time since Monday. Reminded him that we are going out tomorrow to dinner then the theatre. He said that he is willing to beg if it will make me wear the same outfit as last Saturday night. The Highlands were obviously memorableGrin

libertydoddle · 14/10/2016 21:26

That's bordering on TMI Blingy especially as I have met your DH Grin

Amber lovely R&B boots. My DH hasn't a clue what I have. He pointed accusingly about half a hour ago and asked where the new jumper had come from. I've owned it for at least 2 years.

GrinGrinGrinLib I keep forgetting you lot know far too much about Mr Blingy!Blush

Anyway, I shall quickly distract everyone with today's purchase. It's another Michael Kors dress which I have wanted for ages but was not in my size on the outnet. I have done very sensible things today - pension contribution, ISA contribution, capital repayment off our mortgage and even the dcs pension contribution so this one was all for meeee!

AmberNectarine · 14/10/2016 22:20

My DH is weird; no interest in sexy clothes or underwear really - just wants me to wear nothing at all! Still, at least it means he ignores the new acquisitions! Also totally uninterested in his own stuff. His tailor takes care of the business side and I deal with the casual. Can't understand it myself!

On that note, someone at work said this week was that their dream was to employ a personal shopper. I said that would be my worst nightmare - taking away my hobby!

HappyGirlNow · 14/10/2016 22:44

Lovely dress blingy 👍🏻

HappyGirlNow · 14/10/2016 22:47

Yup amber can't imagine ever using a personal shopper.

Longislandicetee · 14/10/2016 23:18

Thanks Happy!

I have never used a personal shopper, but, I do think that this thread shows that people can "see" things that suit us that sometimes we wouldn't pick ourselves. E.g. The dress Amber picked for me for the big party. So now I am less sceptical.

Drywhitethanks · 14/10/2016 23:25

I would like a heel Amber although those are lovely.

Longislandicetee · 14/10/2016 23:30

Omg Dry I forgot to talk about your dress!! Love it! Very you and a great find (by Lib?)

libertydoddle · 14/10/2016 23:38

No wasn't me.... Was it QueenC??? Dry you will look fabulous!!

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 14/10/2016 23:42

ugh, i'd hate having a personal shopper, where's the fun in that?!

libertydoddle · 15/10/2016 07:48

See I would love a personal shopper.

Blingy forgot to say that MK dress looks perfect for you.

Morning! Trying to persuade my arse out of bed and into the gym before the whirlwind of kiddy activities begin. Yawn.

When I shop in the USA it's a bit like having a personal shopper because the SAs are so amazing and will suggest stuff that I would never dreaming of trying and look good. Clearly they're trying to make commission but they don't just shove crap towards you. You hardly get that here, sadly.

Thanks Lib, when do you go on hols? I was thinking of the adorable mini Lib last week because I was buying stuff for the Halloween party.

libertydoddle · 15/10/2016 08:51

mini lib is very annoyed at missing your party Blingy. And then we got another invite for the same day for one of her friends birthdays. So we were the worst parents in the world for booking a holiday when there are parties!! We fly next Saturday morning and back the following Saturday. I can't wait. Need to pack my stuff this weekend as I have another busy week ahead. DH will sort the rest.

Drywhitethanks · 15/10/2016 09:17

I'd be very interested in seeing what a personal shopper would pick for me........but I suspect I'm too set in my ways/controlling to listen. If I don't feel "me" in something, no , matter what anyone says, I'll never wear it happily.

Here's a question then......is there anything you've bought that you considered not really "you" but actually really love?

Stokey · 15/10/2016 10:24

Lovely dress Dry , I can really picture you in it. I'm sure I've seen some Ghillie heels somewhere, trying to remember where. I can't think of anything like that I've bought, there's a couple of things my Mum tlaked me into buying as she said they suited me - a swing jumper from Baukjen is one - and I have to force myself to wear as they just don't really fit my style.

I think I'd quite like to be a personal shopper - made one of my friends buy the galaxy midi dress for &OS as I knew she'd look great in it unlike me

I'm thinking about buying some OTK boots Happy and I'm 42 Blush. I'd like to try on the ones you linked from Zara, although probably need flat ones to get enough wear out of them. I quite like the giant jumper & OTK boots look.

Great boots Amber, I'm a 38 if you're ever doing a clearout Wink

Can really picture you in that dress Blingy, you're very good at sorting out all the boring stuff - I have a bad habit of not opening boring letters.

I love the Bella Freud jumpers Merriboo, but worry I'd be adding 4 years to my age by wearing 1970! The rainbow is fab though.

Stokey · 15/10/2016 10:35

Not much in the way of actual Ghillies dry but saw a few with ankle straps that may work?

Block snakeprint heels

Leopard print heels?
full leopard skin with ankle straps

and more snakeskin?

shopafrolic · 15/10/2016 14:03

I've had great success with personal shoppers. It's nice to be guided to try new stuff
