Morning!

Blingy Grin. Love your click clack bracelets. Do you wear them together? A nice colour combination.

Adora no idea about belt sizing sorry, as Blair says depends where you want it to sit.

I did a lot of shopping yesterday, it was Happy-worthy!! Have the guilts now though and deciding what to keep. Please help!

  1. black velvet dress. Was walking past the store and popped in for a browse. Having already spied this online I tried on and absolutely loved it. The top drapes gorgeously. Had a fab male SA who was a brilliant stylist, he paired it with a black obi belt similar to yours Blair and leopard heels with a red bow. The shoes were so not me but did look cool. This is a definite keeper and will be my Christmas party dress - justification for unnecessary purchase!

2.gold shoes. These are what I'm dithering over. Did really like them in the shop but wondering when am I going to wear them apart from this one black tie event. Don't think I can justify the £££. Have some old LKB gold sandals somewhere that am sure I could resurrect. The green dress is really long so not sure I need showstopper shoes. Everyone based on this reasoning am not sure you should get the dress unless you think you'll get more wear out of it.

  1. velvet shoes. These were an impulse buy on the bus home when I saw Outnet email about 30% off shoe promotion. Good price and love the colour and fabric so worth a try. Inspired by you QueenC.

Stokey when I posted about the fish yesterday had only seen videos online where it looked amazing but when I saw for real thought it was broken as nothing seemed to be happening! A pair of forlorn inflatable fish were floundering on the ceiling miles away. Had included it on my list of dc-friendly half term activities as we have friends visiting but have just booked Shrek world instead.

Don't think choo link worked

maradesbois · 13/10/2016 11:36

Seeing them again I really like them, dilemma!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 13/10/2016 12:19

mara the dress is gorgeous! I love the shoes too, but they'd have to be really comfy and perfect for that amount, as there are loads that style and fabric on the high street. My bridesmaids wore similar :) The Wang shoes are beautiful too - think Amber has them in suede?

My belt is old but here is this season's version, lots of colours.

My Phase Eight puffer coat arrived. It claims to be showerproof! It's this one. I like the brown piping and the belt. Hope it's not too bulky.

I'm going to Dorset for the weekend, but it's going to be wet and mild so will be wearing raincoat all the time, maybe even a fleece.

Everyonelovessparkles · 13/10/2016 12:20

I don't think you're outfit sounds boring blair! It sounds very stylish, especially with the leather belt.

Nice buys mara. Those choose are lovely, but if you already have a pair that are suitable and you won't really be able to see them, maybe use the choo budget for something else?? It is a difficult decision when you really like something though....

blingy did you get propositioned in the bar? Grin

AdoraBell · 13/10/2016 13:19

Thanks, I'll try to do pics later, love those Hurmes bracelets.

Everyonelovessparkles · 13/10/2016 13:44

Not a fleece blair Grin have a lovely time. The phase eight coat looks warm and smart.

libertydoddle · 13/10/2016 15:23

Mara that dress is gorgeous. Perfect. I think you should reconsider the shoes. They are beautiful but won't be noticed under the dress.
Have fun in Dorset Blair. Coat looks very cosy. Do you find Obi belts comfy to wear all day?
I have layered a long sleeve T under a sleeveless dress today and quite like how it looks. Has made me want a polo neck or turtleneck layering top.

Mara what shoe size are you? I have a pair of worn twice gold LKBs that you would be welcome to borrow......size 40

HappyGirlNow · 13/10/2016 16:27

Afternoon all!

Happy-worthy mara Grin

I absolutely love the velvet dress and the velvet shoes!! You must keep them. Less keen on the Choos for some reason..

May I have some opinions please?

I've been hankering after over the knee boots but I couldn't get away with the beautiful ones Amber has. So.. I've bought these and was wondering what you all thought?

They're nice on but I'm wary of dressing too young for my age (43) and therefore actually making myself look older(heaven forbid!), or looking like a throwback to the 80s or Puss in Boots. Am seeing me wearing the with only classic outfits eg skinny jeans, long black coats, oversized jumper - def no cropped denim/leather jackets. Do you think they're ok? Do you think too bit is ok? Do you think they'll look nice as described? Or is it too young a look?

Happy news for today, the tan Lucky Charm office boots kind of came back in stock. I say kind of, because 7s came back in stick and I'm a 6 - I bought anyway and thought I can just wear with thicker socks - is this desperate?? Blush Well, I was desperate Smile I've opted for next day delivery so they've already been dispatched. I'll try and hold off wearing them and keep checking for a 6 Grin

HappyGirlNow · 13/10/2016 16:29

do you think the top* bit is ok?

Blinking autocorrect rahhhh

Everyonelovessparkles · 13/10/2016 16:37

I'm not sure about those boots happy, I think it's the loose top I'm not too keen on. But I'm not wearing them and if you like them, then how you describe wearing them sounds fine and not at all dressing too young. And 43 is not old!

HappyGirlNow · 13/10/2016 16:49

I know what you mean everyone it's the top for me too.. hmm..

Nice boots too apart from that.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 13/10/2016 17:04

I agree Happy I don't like the top. But you can still try them, and hold the top bit closed to see if you like the overall look.

Lib it's not too bad but I often wear something tight around the waist, belt or high waisted skirt. Luckily my bloating has been much better recently! :)

Thank you Everyone! The fleece came with the raincoat Blush Grin

maradesbois · 13/10/2016 17:30

Thanks for feedback, am taking the choos back tomorrow. Have that uncertain feeling and it's definitely because of them. Do like them, somehow much nicer on than in pics but at that price would have to make my heart sing and not the case. As money already mentally spent may get an APC handbag instead.

Many thanks for offer Shop and would take you up on it but am 38.5-39. Have an office near us so will take a look there tomorrow after returning choos, they do a dupe of the Gucci knot sandals amongst other things. My old lkb ones are too past it even under long dress and snakeskin print which I hate, they were a panic buy for a wedding about 6 years ago!!

Happy I think they look a bit piratey. Think otk boots will really suit your style but you need narrow or stretchy ones. Dare I ask what happened to no spend October?????

Lib got the package, many thanks. I love thin polonecks for layering in winter. Only have two in black and grey but would like cream and brown ones for this winter. Wanted to ask you, what do you wear on your legs/feet with culottes in the winter? I want to keep the navy uterque ones I ordered but don't know what to do shoe-wise. Help!

Fedup was also meaning to say thanks for wavy haircut links you posted for me a few days ago, love them and will definitely take to show hairdresser next time.

Loving my new length, feels more carefree and contemporary somehow. Dh loves it too which is a bonus.

maradesbois · 13/10/2016 17:34

Sorry meant Bernice for hair links.

Also meant to say Blair I did think wtf when you mentioned phase eight puffer coat Grin but it looks very nice. Really like the gold hardware.

HappyGirlNow · 13/10/2016 17:53

Thanks blair and mara - they're going back. I don't like the top. Trouble is I don't have the thinnest legs in the world, I'm quite tall and while they're not fat they're not particularly thin either. I tried some Zara ones but had no chance of even getting them on meh

Figuring M&S will be cut more generously I'll try these - reviewers are saying they are too wide for them so hopefully ok and not too wide on me.

mara no spend October is kaput, gone, no more, its expired, it's an ex No Spend October Grin - no booze is bad enough! And as someone pointed out (think shop or everyone maybe), it's a bad time for it, the changing seasons, too much new cool stuff out, and that's my excuse! I may try No Spend November when I'm back on the booze Wink

libertydoddle · 13/10/2016 17:57

Phew at rapid package delivery mara. Hooray for Royal Mail first class! The what to wear on feet with culottes in winter us an issue!!! I wore them all summer with loafers, sandals or superga. I've tried with nude tights and loafers but tights feel strange under them. Too much risk of the top of pop socks been seen. Neither of my ankle boots look quite right...tbh I may retire them until spring.

Good call on boots happy. The M&S ones look promising.

shopafrolic · 13/10/2016 18:01

Happy we are the same age - NOT OLD AT ALL Grin
Same thoughts as others on the boots but I wouldn't be anti giving OTK boots a try if they actually went over my knee - long legs here.....
Mara I meant to say on Pin that your hair looked fab - did I? I can't recall. Anyway , glad you're loving the length, I thought it looked stylish and fresh.
I want to get mine cut before my birthday, need to fit it in at some point.
Am off to see Christine & The Queens as part of my birthday celebrations - can't wait!
DF is home :)

AmberNectarine · 13/10/2016 18:29

mara I'm exactly the same shoe size as you...

HappyGirlNow · 13/10/2016 18:38

AmberNectarine · 13/10/2016 20:10

Bugger OOS already

AmberNectarine · 13/10/2016 20:13

What I mean mara is you'd be welcome to borrow any of my shoes. I have those Loeffler Randall gold strappy star sandals or a black suede Dolce pair. Feel free if you'd like to - could easily meet you in the city!
