Shop, yes that was the conclusion I came to! It will hurt doing sensible things with the money!!Grin love the monkey top. Have a good day with your boys x

Dry, yes, I would agree with you on the styling. I love the highland and lowland. I looked at both a few weeks ago but didn't try them on. Just going into town now so I might give them a try as I love them even more from seeing Ambers links. I think I was afraid of looking like puss in boots so it's that old phrase of they might not love me back as much as I love them!Grin

MarshaBrady · 08/10/2016 12:00

Dry yes agree on styling a leather skirt not with leather knee high boot - too much leather. I think this has the right texture balance (ignoring very short skirt for every day!). But the softness of the jumper and the suede ankle boots works well

Blingy go for a black Proenza and kill two birds...

Stokey great star trainers.

Mara I love the dress and culottes and top, will look so good on you

Fairy love the bags in fact I am tempted..

Had an ace night out with Lib last night, feel a bit fuzzy today!

Which is better for me, are the shoes too bonkers? One, or none

Saint Laurent tote a la Fairy

Lanvin gold

Hi all, a lurker delurking for a quick question I've been give me a whistles voucher and missed out on buying last weeks grazia, does anyone know if the offer is still on and would anyone be willing to share the code? Thanks for your help!

HappyGirlNow · 08/10/2016 13:10

Like the lanvins marsha

I'm freezing my arse off trackside all weekend while my husband races, so OOTD is casual black block heeled ankle boots, black skinnies, oversized soft grey Zara jumper, Zara padded waistcoat and oversized Zara leather/fur biker jacket. I'm freezing! And can't even have a wine to warm me up, meh Sad

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

libertydoddle · 08/10/2016 13:29

a plan to meet for exactly 1 hour and 15 mins after work for a quick drink went the same way as many other MNV meets! Have a slightly fuzzy head here too. Love the shoes but I think you'd get more use from the bag.

Happy it does sound chilly!!

And you have all solved a problem for me! I don't wear my lovely M&S brown leather skirt much and it's because I struggle with shoes. Now realise I need some suede ankle boots.

Mara sorry I haven't replied to text yet...will do soon.

Happy weekend ladies!
Busy with work so caught up with thread and fab links, OOTD and wise advice on styling.

Fedup pointy M&S wide flats arrived this a.m. They fit like a glove! Shock don't like the manmade soles but love them otherwise so keeping, will be super useful.
Off to Paris with work first thing Mon, transferring to Lyon by rail Tues eve Sad and so not back home till Thurs. Will no doubt be exhausted on return home, think will take next Fri off and go to north Norfolk for a recuperative chilled weekend with DH Smile

dry enjoy todays wedding your outfit and substantial fascinator sounds fab

Blingy nice budget! I can only say Enjoy!

I may not have too many fashion news as have decided to be more mindful of my purchases and planning on spending rest of today decluttering my wardrobes. Will keep an eye on your news but right now happy with what I have will probably change my mind I have an urge/ want to focus on simplifying my life

shopafrolic · 08/10/2016 13:46

Confused Whistles code ended on Tuesday I believe. Sale is on now.
Marsha i love the tote. Can't imagine you in a chunky heel that isn't a boot for some reason but probably because I love you in GVs.

HappyGirlNow · 08/10/2016 15:15

I ordered these suede block heels from Office think I saw someone mention suede block heels?

HappyGirlNow · 08/10/2016 15:18

SoyYo I also have an urge to declutter and simplify my life - was going to be during Sober October but not going to plan Blush

SoyYo · 08/10/2016 15:49

Happy nice heels, also liked the office boots with hardware, very cool!
Tbh you have to be in the right frame of mind to tackle the declutter/simplify philosophy, so no good forcing it if you're not ready, its like going on a diet, giving up smoking or wine...you have to want and crave it. Sometimes there's a trigger point: Like when the waist in your fattest trousers is too tight and you just refuse to go up a size.
That was me last Jan which made go to Slimworld (never in my life did I think id need a "fatties" club to lose weight but I can tell you it really worked).
I have too many clothes so that's next. I buy and also return loads, but its starting to annoy me, I think I forget what I have so I want to rediscover the joy of a well considered and longed for purchase. I mean REALLY annoy me, I don't feel guilty or bad about it, just annoyed, hard to explain this frame of mind but this is my personal trigger point.
It won't last...but while I'm in this frame of mind I will strike. I have a ton of fab clothes that are hardly getting worn, another ton that are for a life I no longer have or want. I hope like one I will feel lighter and able to make better decisions on future purchases.
Pat yourself on the back you're still keeping up the booze ban and you'll know when the time is right to tackle a no spend month...you were rather hard on yourself to tackle both at once!
FlowersFlowers

I will continue to enjoy all the amazing links in this thread and right now feeling hoping!they will not derail my resolve.

SoyYo · 08/10/2016 15:55

But also remember I just bought a whole bunch of new things for AW and the M&S flats are the last little indulgence for a while...keeping fingers crossed! Blush

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 08/10/2016 16:54

soYo i think you've done really well as it is and thank you for the kind words, it's been tough but it's worth it because the end goal is something i really want and will vastly improve my life Thanks Smile

kittyhello · 08/10/2016 17:37

Soyo you've described where i am in my life at the moment re: clothes, I had a massive de-clutter last year and only kept things that I loved. I'm also trying to be less impulsive and to buy better, where possible. Eg went to Westfield last week and didn't buy a thing apart from lunch Shock All the Boden/Hush/Me&Em catalogues that come through the door on a daily basis go straight in the bin without opening

Longislandicetee · 08/10/2016 18:02

Kitty, well done you!! SoyYo I have to say that when I put myself on a work dress ban last year, I stuck to it for a year. It was hard at the beginning but actually I then didn't notice, and more began to focus on the fact that I had too many work clothes. Having gone through spring/summer, I am going to do another big clutter soon, as there were definitely some things I didn't wear all summer despite having the opportunity to do so.

I am now the owner of these black highlands, which dh got excited about when he saw. We are off to the opera tonight so I plan on striking while the iron is hot! Bet he's less excited when he opens the credit card statement Grin I spent ages debating over lowlands and like the grey ones. I think I have got them the opposite way round to Amber?

Marsha, the bag not the shoes!!

Everyonelovessparkles · 08/10/2016 21:08

soyyo I think you are right that once you start to sort out your wardrobe it really helps you to focus on what you have and what you don't need or do need.

Regarding styling leather skirts, I like to style mine with jumpers too as I think it makes the whole look more wearable and softens it somewhat. I have been toying with some new black ankle boots but was unsure about leather or suede but I think you lot have swayed me more towards the suede. Smile

Nice budget blingy and at least you have the new boots now! It's always the way that when you want to spend there's nothing you want or like. Enjoy the opera.

Nice outfit dry. I also have a reiss jacket that i really like.

marsha I would be more tempted by the bag but then I do like a nice bag

Hope you've had a nice day with your DH and DS shop.

AmberNectarine · 09/10/2016 00:26

That is the exact opposite to me blingy. To be fair, DH has never been so amenable to a footwear purchase as the Highlands! Wearing tonight with a black cold shoulder jumper dress and the SL bag (obvs). Loving it - warm and stylish!

FedupNagging · 09/10/2016 08:41

Nice bag Marsha but not entirely sure about the shoes - would need to see them on. How would you style them?

Mara Love the dress you have ordered (& the others ) - am with you on the skinny jean front, am a bit sick of mine too. I bought some wide legged trousers to ring the changes but need to get them shortened.

I am still debating which denim dress to go for and whether or not to order the silver stans. As I haven't immediately ordered either it probably means I'm not that fussed atm- I have a tendency to dither then miss the boat!

FedupNagging · 09/10/2016 08:54

Irritating iPad posted too soon Hmm

Great boot purchase Blingy. I'm sure we can all help you spend your clothing budget Grin Hope you enjoyed the opera.

Dh & I managed to drag ourselves to the ROH on Friday despite stinking colds. Didn't manage any clothes shopping but did manage to pop into Charlotte Tilbury for lipstick and eyeshadow. Lipstick is absolutely gorgeous colour - will link when not on irritating iPad.

Dry hope you all had a lovely day yesterday.

BerniceBobsHerHair · 09/10/2016 11:15

Shop are you still looking for flat red shoes?

MarshaBrady · 09/10/2016 12:20

Thanks for Lanvin gold feedback.

My challenge is that I don't want to wear flats to work as I feel too casual in ballet flats, and I don't want to wear proper heels as I feel too dressy and night out-ish. Especially the Rossis, perhaps lower ones would be ok. But I don't find them that comfy for the whole day.

I've been wearing my Rag&Bone ankle boots every day and would like something else to have at hand. Either block heel or ankle boot that isn't pretty much the same as the black Rag&Bone ones

Great shopping Blingy

Hope you feel better soon Fedup

MarshaBrady · 09/10/2016 12:24

Although perhaps Gianvito Rossi is the place to look

Gold

suede

GR big block heel

Quite high for me though

MarshaBrady · 09/10/2016 12:40

I know block heels might be a new thing for me, but I just don't think I can do real heels at work

MarshaBrady · 09/10/2016 12:42

These are nice Marant suede but high, and I wonder, I may as well be wearing my R&Bs

Drywhitethanks · 09/10/2016 13:29

On way home from a fab wedding. Such a wonderful day/weather/venue and DH transformed into J Travolta on the dance floor v hot and sweaty in morning suit most alarming Grin . Some serious dad dancing. As usual my feet hurt . Felt great in my outfit.
