Lib love the sound of that outfit and One it is such a good feeling to have clothes fitting again isn't it?

I've always worn a lot of dark colours - in my twenties mainly black. Then, when I was recrafting my style as I turned 40 and DCs growing up I thought it was maybe a safe (and aging) habit left over from those years. But now I'm loving it again. Especially with yellow gold jewellery. Might also be that I've lightened my hair now

I read Carine Roifeld saying that black clothes should be investment pieces. Make sense as CPW is usually much better value.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 07/10/2016 14:51

One you are stylish, your style is one of the most well defined and recognisable on MNV! :) And you definitely suit black. I wore black without thinking about it, probably like most other people do (that aren't into clothes). Now it would be carefully considered!

Love both of those bags fairy.

Everyonelovessparkles · 07/10/2016 16:35

OOTD sounds great lib, how did you get on with the beret?

Nice bags fairy, hope happy isn't tempted 😂

Well done on the dress one, always a good feeling when something fits again.

Wedding sounds fab dry, as does your outfit!

Afternoon,

I did chuckle at ‘substantial’ fascinator too Grin

Love the velvet boots too Happy, definitely need some velvet in my life. Spent all of yesterday at Frieze with a very stylish friend, it was great for fashion spotting generally (loads of great midi dresses) as well as the art but made me realise I need to up my game from skinny jeans, even though I brought out the chanel jacket was regretting not having trousers apart from jeans and v casual. Said stylish friend was wearing velvet boots from Uterqüe, I never ordered from them before but have been inspired to try the following:

silk dress

navy culottes (I returned the Zara ones)

skinny polo neck

Hope the quality and fabrics are ok. Love the look of their site. Did you decide what to do about the silver loafers btw justa? This is where the ones you ordered were from?

One well done! Saw a pic of you in the dress, its lovely.

Thanks for the earring links Blair, the £4 bargains ones are just the sort of thing am looking for if don’t get green ones. Also thinking of just getting one long one and wearing usual pearl stud in the other.

Stokey the starry trainers were made for you!

lib another great ootd description.

Fairy great bags

my ootd is thin wool equipment jumper with mainly green botanical print with skinnies (yawn) and tan Marant cluster boots, a sale bargain from last year which have hardly worn although really like them. Hairdresser has chopped all my hair off into guess what you could call long layered bob, still getting used to it, only went in for a trim but he just went for it!

Have a great weekend all.

HappyGirlNow · 07/10/2016 17:09

everyone would it surprise you to learn that I already have fairy's blue tote in the burgundy 😳😂 Lovely bag!

Yes loved the velvet boots.. only linking for Amber as unfortunately I am too old and unslinky for them meh

fairy I also love black with yellow gold, beautiful combo. I wear yellow gold as despite being fairly pale I've got a warm skin tone.

Really like the star trainers stokey and the silk dress mara

shopafrolic · 07/10/2016 17:25

Took the Jaggers back to Office, they didn't have the next size up so they are going to send to me for Monday. Let's hope they are good. I saw the white lucky charm boots and they are nicer IRL. The white is a bit distressed and the silver not so shiny. May order if I decide the Jaggers are no good.
Went to visit DF again today - he is going to be moved back to the hospital closer to home tonight by ambulance so that is good. Easier to visit without it taking an entire day. Hopefully he'll be home with carers soon.
I have been a mess all work, dirty hair, no make up. Need to change that tomorrow. I have a day off from visiting so I can spend time with DH and DS. We are going to a friends' for early tea with the kids which will be a nice change of scene.
I was going to ask how the hair is Mara. I trust him to go for it - hope you do too!?

HappyGirlNow · 07/10/2016 17:49

I love the white Lucky Charm too shop but I'd prefer gold hardware as its gold I wear.

Tan ones appeared online today (they weren't online before, must've been completely soldier out), only one pair available, and my size so I ordered (yes, I've given up on the shopping ban) Blush They're not showing on their site anymore, but I've attached photo.

DMBL40 just bought the Chloe Susanna - I'm just as happy with my Office ones Grin

HappyGirlNow · 07/10/2016 17:50

Oops found them Office Lucky Charm boots in tan

HappyGirlNow · 07/10/2016 17:52

shop really glad your DF will be closer to you, that will make it easier for you. Enjoy your tea.

HappyGirlNow · 07/10/2016 17:54

*completely SOLD OUT 🙄

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 07/10/2016 18:02

ahhh blair thank you, that's all very kind of you to say

shop i'm glad your DF will be closer to you and i hope he continues to recover and will be back home soon. please look after yourself too lovey, i know how difficult caring for a sick parent is but you must make some time for yourself or you'll be worn into the ground Thanks

Everyonelovessparkles · 07/10/2016 18:18

happy you giving up on the shopping ban made me laugh! It's the wrong time of year to impose one as the weather is just turning making A/W buys more appealing. Why I am not surprised you already have the tote? Grin

I'm sure your hair looks lovely mara. I'm in need of a trim too. I always know when I start putting it up all the time that it's too long.

shop glad they are moving your DF to make visiting easier. A day with your DH and DS will be nice. Even if you don't feel like making an effort with hair and make up,and I totally understand why you haven't, I always think it can make you feel a bit better if you make a bit of effort, even just a bit of mascara and clean hair.FlowersWine

Drywhitethanks · 07/10/2016 18:41

I'm not a "two feathers on a headband" type of woman, like to commit to head gear......bit worried it's not as substantial as I'd like!!!

Bastard family members all gone out when I need to do nails and Sainsburys delivery due in the next half hour .........First World Problems here, I need time to not mess them up.

Grin
AmberNectarine · 07/10/2016 21:21

Finally got my hands on the grey highlands (Harrods delivery is SHIT). They are AMAZING. Def wearing to the meet up!

Wearing tonight with black skinnies, black v neck tee, burgundy skinny scarf, leopard rockstud cuff and the leopard Saint Laurent bag. Easy and looks good. Really glad I invested in both pairs of boots, they are an outfit maker, even thrown on with leggings and an oversized sweater.

Lovely evenings all!

Longislandicetee · 07/10/2016 22:05

Amber, you're making me want to look at lowlands again!Envy

Exhausting day where I was on the go without stopping for 12 hours. It was our family games night so I am suitably shattered!

Love to the sicklies! Glad to hear the good news about your dad Shop!

libertydoddle · 08/10/2016 08:01

Drywhitethanks · 08/10/2016 08:16

Black and white H and M ls top
Black Reiss fitted blazer love it so much, v flattering
Red longchamps bag

Longislandicetee · 08/10/2016 08:32

Morning! Sounds good Dry!

I have 2 first world problems.

First, I need to find a cheaper version of this Proenza Schouler bag in black, but costing no more than £300! If anyone sees something similar that would be great!

Also, I decided to treat myself to Autumn Winter casual clothes. Can't find anything I want despite allocating myself £10k to go nuts! I think I am broken.Shock

AmberNectarine · 08/10/2016 09:57

These are they dry. Back in the black Lowlands for my OOTD. Worn with opaques, jigsaw leather wrap mini, black oversized sweatshirt, red tartan scarf, leopard rockstud cuff and leopard SL bag.

Ended up at karaoke until 3am with DH. Love that dude Smile

Out again tonight looking forward to a quieter week socially next week!

shopafrolic · 08/10/2016 10:44

Just ordered this monkey sweatshirt. I have a bit of a thing with monkeys (right Marsha ?) Grin
Am selling some jewellery to cover the cost or will be asking DH to get it for my birthday but there was only one left in stock so had to jump. Makes me smile, hope it fits!
Blingy I know I will get shot down in flames for this but perhaps you don't need anything? You bought loads of AW casual last year in J Crew didn't you? Anyway - I'll happily help you spend it...... Smile

Drywhitethanks · 08/10/2016 10:54

Nice Amber ... lowlands I presume aren't OTK?

MarshaBrady · 08/10/2016 10:56

Love the monkey jumper. Well done Shop!

Drywhitethanks · 08/10/2016 10:56

Have googled, lowlands are nice tootempted

Drywhitethanks · 08/10/2016 11:02

Styling question.... with leather skirt are suede boots best? Polished leather boot with leather skirt seems a bit od to me. Am I right?
