dry i have been keeping an eye out for you but nothing has jumped out at me.

Eyes are feeling stingy today-presumably just the initial effects of the steroids but at least the grittiness has gone now that the deposit has been removed.

Ootd is last years Toast blue/green blouse and dark skinnies. Accessorised with fluorescent yellow jacket and waterproof trousers Grin.

Longislandicetee · 27/09/2016 09:49

Morning everyone! Happy that fringed jacket is the kind of jacket that is gorgeous and....would look horrific on meGrin

Dry so glad you love the shoes! And they were a good price!

Welcome Fairy, I agree with the others, those are lovely bags.

Waves to Adora - don't worry I usually ignore dh's pursed lips.Grin.

Ootd is this Misebela dress with my black Zara jacket. Accessorised with Givenchy leather bracelet, CK steel bangle watch, Swarovski ring and black Gucci hobo. My hair is in a chignon so I feel all chic won't last

Gratis have their whistles 25% off now if any one missed the emails and has their eye on any thing.

Today's outfits all sound lovely blingy, dry and queen - I especially like the sound of the fluorescent jacket and waterproof trousers accessories Grin

Everyonelovessparkles · 27/09/2016 10:30

Apologies- should say grazia, annoying auto correct.

libertydoddle · 27/09/2016 10:51

Thanks Everyone

Welcome Adora.

Blingy you should know how to play it by now Wink. Tell him you are getting a trench, shoes, new watch, earrings and maybe a bag. Then when you just get the trench and shoes you look positively frugal Grin

On another thread last week someone mentioned the 1980's Vogue book 'More dash than cash' so I decided to order a copy from Amazon. It arrived on Friday so I have been reading it over the weekend - it's so good and so relevant even though it's over 30 years old. Lots of the photos look really fresh and up to date. The basics never change, work with your shape, buy natural fabrics etc. They say shoes are the most important thing to getting an outfit right or creating different looks and that you only need two bags

I used to have that book Lib - loved it. Perhaps i'll reorder too.
Off back to the hospital now so catch up later. Style has gone out of the window which is making me feel worse. Need to try harder tomorrow and get my Voguette armour on. Greasy hair tied back and no make up today does not make a happy Shop

QueenCobalt · 27/09/2016 14:47

Had a v quick browse at JL site at work earlier (please tell me other people do this when they need to switch off for 2 mins). Saw lots of stuff for others...

HappyGirlNow · 27/09/2016 15:14

lib two bags? TWO bags? Did you really just say TWO bags????? Shock Grin

HappyGirlNow · 27/09/2016 15:15

Got my eye on a wee YSL shoulder bag... Might treat myself after my Sober October Wink

Everyonelovessparkles · 27/09/2016 15:41

Nice links queen. Don't worry when I'm working from home I'm always having a quick peruse of websites on my tablet when sat at my desk Smile

shop Flowers

Interesting that the book says shoes rather than bags bring an outfit together. As much as I love looking at shoes, I'm quite lazy in my day to day choices, as comfort and practicality are my key criteria, but I always try to have a nice bag with me. happy Smile I wondered what you would think at the 2 bags suggestion!!!

libertydoddle · 27/09/2016 15:41

Yes Happy. One for day, one for night.... Makes sober October seem easy!!! Imagine if you had to whittle your bags down to two... Grin

QueenC a sneaky browse through the Outnet has got me through many a bad day.

The other thing I liked in the book was that she said we restrict options by categorising clothes too much ie having work / play distinctions so ruling out a silk blouse for day wear etc. Definitely food for thought.

And most startling suggestion (brace yourself happy, dry and others who are not in SE England) you do NOT need a winter coat. Money should be spent on a good raincoat / trench as you wear it more and you can add layers for the colder days. I almost dropped the book with shock! But then I looked at my selection of winter coats and realised the CPW is pretty poor!

Afternoon,

lib, forgot to wish you a very happy anniversary. Congratulations!! Btw did you see pics of Kate Middleton in 'our' red Preen dress in Canada?! I recognised it straight away, still love it but alas outside my budget and if it wasn't sold out already certainly will be now.

Shop yup, get your armour back on tomorrow.

fairy welcome! Amazing bags, really love the navy happy. What did you have laser treatment for? Not being nosey, just wondering what it can help with. I booked my routine stuff, a new course of glycolic peels and Botox for frown lines.

Did anyone get a liberty magazine in the post. If so there's a picture of 'my' red velvet dress from last week in there, can't link as already gone with the recycling but it looked gorgeous in the pic and would love to get hold of it to try on.

Fedup think it was you who asked about disappointing summer buys? I didn't buy much but do regret stans with blue pony hair backs, they hardly go with anything, should've got different ones. Other than that didn't buy much but all good.

Blingy your look today sounds lovely.

Dry looking forward to your dress specs. Could see you in a rich autumnal colour like burgundy.

QueenCobalt · 27/09/2016 16:07

mara as soon as I saw KM in that dress I thought of you!

No way could you have just 2 bags.id definitely rather live with 2 shoes although after being on this thread that's pretty impossible! I don't agree with the winter coat. Mine gets lots of wear. Depends on your lifestyle I guess. Might buy the book though.

maradesbois · 27/09/2016 16:31

I defo need a proper winter coat too QueenC, can't bear being cold. On the whole though think I have a very small wardrobe, dh otoh is a different story!!

Longislandicetee · 27/09/2016 16:55

Two bags totally makes sense. If it's per week.

I do agree about shoes finishing an outfit more than the bag. I even tell the dcs this when I am polishing their school shoes on Sundays. Grin Although i would probably say that all accessories - shoes, bag and bling (probably in that order) are important.

On the coat front, I find myself agreeing -ish. I wear my trench coat far more than I do my lovely MaxMara cashmere coat as for example, last winter it didn't get cold enough to wear it more than a couple of times.. That's why I am drawn to the Burberry Trench.Grin

Flowers Mara By the way what will you do now you have finished your course?

Bernice I bet you look lovely in cigarette pantsEnvy

shopafrolic · 27/09/2016 17:10

someone buy these please

shopafrolic · 27/09/2016 17:12
