rachey i did the same when looking for mine was crap waiting for money going back in.

have you looked on tfnc, ax paris, missguided, rare fashion?

maybe a skater type dress or chiffon material would suit you better?

i know none of us ever want to do it but in bodycons a size up could help.

what about something with a peplum. amy childs or vesper often have peplum dresses on. hybrids worth a look too.

gingerbreadmanm · 18/08/2016 07:38

You are "too fat" for it but anyone outside of a size six would be - it's just not a flattering dress! You would look lovely in other dresses.

Racheyg · 19/08/2016 13:16

Thanks ginger does the ruffle not make you look bigger, and highlight my big tummy?

I loved the 2 in 1 dress but it's out of stock :(

Skimmed the thread, sorry!

op, it's the outfit that is unflattering, not you being the wrong shape!

I suggest a visit to a personal shopper at John Lewis; it's a free service and I got lots of great ideas when I went along. I did end up buying a few things but the lady was very honest and said I didn't have to and that I could return them without having to face her again Grin it gave me some idea of what actually suited me, which sounds the sort of thing you're wanting too.

gingerbreadmanm · 19/08/2016 13:59

in that case did you look on chi chi? they might be a good style for you.

my dm says yes a i say no ha so doesnt really answer your question.

gingerbreadmanm · 19/08/2016 14:05

Love this whole outfit however in the vid they've pulled the skirt down and it looks awful!

you can tell i'm enjoying this right?

YorkieDorkie · 19/08/2016 14:18

Your hips are narrower than your shoulders I think - unless it's the camera angle! Therefore I would wear something a-line from the waist or even a peplum to "put" hips in.

I saw this dress in a local boutique which I think would really suit?

I've personally given up with most high street brands and now exclusively shop at the local boutiques because they're the only places I can find anything right!

Where abouts are you in the country?

I'm too fat to wear this?!?
Racheyg · 19/08/2016 15:10

yorkie I love the neck line on that dress. That is kind of the neck line style I'm after or strapless. I'm in London.

Your probably right my shoulders are wider. I don't have much of hips but a lot of tummy Grin

ginger I have seen a few nice dresses from chi chi on asos. Due to funds and timings. I'm only really looking on asos now.

I still haven't had the refunds back so oh has said I have calm down with the ordering Grin

As others have said - you are definitely not fat, but the dress doesn't do a lot for you.

I definitely wouldn't wear it to a wedding. For me, weddings are a place to dress in a sophisticated/chic/elegant way. You definitely don't want to be showing too much skin through cut out parts of a dress, imo.

Racheyg · 19/08/2016 15:44

I know this is a dress that is not what I have been search for but I like this.

Is it too much for a wedding? With leopard print heels?

I'm too fat to wear this?!?
