Summertime, and the livin' is easy...some of us are basking on beaches, others are managing the madness that is school's out but work goes on...either way we want to look chic in the heat while it lasts

Come tell us what you are wearing on these balmy days...it's friendly here Smile

Nice things Lib - was it you saying you wanted to try a beret when we were talking hats? Good choice if so!

Just adding my bit to what jacket/s I wear in Autumn...I have so many coats and jackets - I am on a ban from buying them - but I try to rotate them. So for this mild weather as autumn is beginning I wear: lightweight wrap jacket, sleeveless jacket, or bomber jacket (plus obligatory rain jacket). As it gets more autumnal, I also wear black leather jacket, checked trench and Welsh tapestry jacket.

Amber is this your Zara coat - do you like the fur side too? Bonus it is reversible!

Interesting to hear the foundations you all use. I will need to get some soon I think - atm wear Botanics BB cream which was discontinued a while ago. Will make a note of your recs.

Aaargh chokers - that is for me the definition of 'don't wear it if you wore it the first time round'...I guess I am officially old if I can now remember current fashions the first time round.

Need to have a look at Cloggs - sounds like there are some real bargains on there.

Fedup I like your new pointy flats, I saw them in store (in red) and they look nice.

The problem with linking things for other people, is sometimes I like them too. Just bought:
These red shoes I linked for Shop - I know you didn't like them but I love them! Contemplating some other colours

Also decided to try these Boden leopard flats as I keep admiring them, but not sure they will suit / fit, this being Boden and their painful shoes Grin

AmberNectarine · 08/09/2016 16:09

No Bernice, I saw that and found it hideous! This is mine.

shop search for Harris Wharf on NAP/HN - think you will like.

Everyonelovessparkles · 08/09/2016 16:34

Lots to catch up on! Sorry if I don't remember everything.

Hope the new arrival is settling in amber and not bringing you too many unwanted gifts like his predecessor!

Hope your DF is doing ok shop and your DH too lib

Gorgeous dress blair hope you get a good price and aren't too sad at seeing it go.

Nice leopard flats bernice. I've never bought shoes in Boden as keep hearing how painful they are!

I've decided that top of my A/W wish list are leopard flats, maybe these ones from M&S unless anyone has seen anything better? leopard flats and a denim dress. A sort of shirt dress or tunic type style, not a pinafore, so again if anyone has seen anything when they've been browsing, let me know!

MarshaBrady · 08/09/2016 16:50

Hello lovely people. Have been awol a bit. But taking it easy this week as finished my last job yes!

Managed to get a new job, which is at a big place and well known, so hopefully will be good for me - esp on cv-

Big wave and missing you all so will read back

AmberNectarine · 08/09/2016 16:56

Everyone Boden have a pair of pointy leopard flats I really like. No gifts yet as I won't let him out until he's spayed, which won't be until the new year, but judging by the way he brutalises his toy hedgehog, my hopes aren't high...

AmberNectarine · 08/09/2016 16:57

had I only read the thread properly I would have seen bernice had already linked them.

Everyonelovessparkles · 08/09/2016 17:38

Thanks amber. I saw bernice had linked some but I'm just a bit put off by comments that boden shoes are painful. After a costly error with a pair of lk Bennett flats, I'm more cautious these days! Grin

BerniceBobsHerHair · 08/09/2016 18:23

Ah yes, amber yours is much nicer!

everyone I find Boden shoes cut quite narrow - that's why they are painful on me anyway. But you can usually tell that as soon as you try them on - so hopefully no costly mistakes!

BerniceBobsHerHair · 08/09/2016 18:27

Oh, also (apologies for multiple posts) those M&S shoes are the next on my list of the Boden ones don't work out. I've tried them on and they're good. Also been looking for a denim dress for a while so will link some I looked at / tried when not on phone.

Marsha sorry, can't believe I forgot to welcome you back to the thread in my last post! New job sounds good, lovely to have you back.

kittyhello · 08/09/2016 19:33

I love leopard print, JCrew also know this as they keep putting this skirt everywhere for me to see am imagining it with a black Tippi.

Everyone Bernice not strictly a tunic but someone posted this on a thread and it caught mt eye, especially with the belt

denim shirt/tunic

Bernice did you send that black and white stripe dress back? A teacher at dc school was wearing it yesterday.

QueenC1 · 08/09/2016 20:13

Hi all. Been busy as dh is away and the dc are all knackered horrible from being back at school. Lots of bad behaviour and tears (some mine!).

But anyway, its nearly the weekend and I'm going to London on Saturday. So excited to be going shopping and drinking cocktails. I was going to try these on as ive been in love for ages but ive just ordered them as they finally have 20% off. Ive been putting up with all their emails for weeks now waiting for a code and now finally I can unsubscribe!

shop can totally see you rocking that pinterest look. I just can't seem to go back to flares/wide trousers after wearing them so much in my younger years despite loving the look. Can't help you with foundation as I never wear it. I have laura mercier tinted moisturiser but wear it about twice a year.

I never did the choker trend and I'm not about to start. Can totally imagine you with one though amber. Btw, your cat is adorable.

lib what happened to just 10 items this year? Grin. I'm quite liking a couple of the ines cardigans and will check them out on Saturday.

marsha good luck in the new job.

Drywhitethanks · 08/09/2016 20:16

Evening all Smile
Not been on much because I've not much fashion news and the real reason ive become addicted to the Outlanderbook series 900 pages per book , am onto book 7 started in July Shock ...... Historical, romantic twaddle tbh, would only recommend to those of strong stomachs!

Well, my snake skin Gigis have arrived....fab, Kitty you're the Gigi queen.....I'm all set for my next summer holiday already booked Shock

Shop I love the gret SB coat you linked, and the look of the Zara one.please keep me posted, I'll just buy the one you do Smile.
Also......re foundation I'm finding as my skin ages I need lighter and lighter foundations. Seen too many pics of me looking like a wrinkly ghost! Now use Boots No7 Lift and Luminate for everyday which is fine. Will try the YSL Fedup linked for going out.

Stokey the trouser tip 2 lengths is brilliant. I used to do that for jeans.

Bernice good luck with Boden shoes......I've got wide feet, as you all know they kill me still wear them though

And....am currently sporting a black eye caused by a Botox injection. Feel self conscious. It's just under the brow of the side of my face that my hair sweeps over to so not too bad but noticeable none the less. Be warned , don't have Botox the day before a special event needs approx 2 wks to take effect anyway.......so, I still have 11s and an additional black eye Hmm

FedupNagging · 08/09/2016 20:24

Love the belt detail on the J Crew skirt - did you order it Kitty? it now says sold out.

I absolutely love the Harris Wharf coat linked up thread especially the colour-it's what my dm would deem a 'smart coat' Grin

Waves to Marsha, was wondering where you were. Congrats on the new job.

Bernice am so pleased you liked the m&s flats - no one else commented so did wonder if I'd picked a dud! Am really liking the ballet style flats especially the red; TS had a lovely pair of leopard print loafers the other day if the Boden one's don't work out.

So the Boden order was a big fat fail - it's all going back - the only item I liked was the boiler suit which was too long so the crotch was nearly at my knees. Dh just laughed and said I looked ridiculous Hmm

There's a documentary on BBC2 at 9 about Vogue mag if anyone is interested - it looks interesting.

BerniceBobsHerHair · 08/09/2016 20:29

Shame about the jumpsuit fedup

kitty how did the teacher look in the dress? I wouldn't have thought it was that school appropriate. I have sent it back but I might buy it again

AmberNectarine · 08/09/2016 21:15

I love that skirt too Kitty to the extent I was about to order it on hols, then the wifi cut out and by the time it was back my size was sold out! Anyway, I found a similar one elsewhere so hopefully that will work as well!

QueenC1 · 08/09/2016 21:17

Love these

AmberNectarine · 08/09/2016 21:24

Off to Bicester tomorrow. Nothing on the list except home spray from the White Co as 'eau de cat piss' isn't very chic. Will just see what takes my fancy, I think!

Then out for cocktails with friends, so should be a good day, really!

The kitten has settled in very nicely. I am completely in love with him - splendid little character - though he is currently chewing on my Agent P bra so I may change my mind in the near future!

dry hope your eye heals up quickly - I must find a new practitioner - mine has given up (part time GP, did it on the side).

kittyhello · 08/09/2016 21:34

Amber glad the kitten has settled in well

Bernice the dress looked lovely, she wore it with a cardigan and black flat sandals. The whole outfit looked good.

Fedup no I didn't buy the skirt, I'm trying to still be good with my spending, I really like it though and am grateful it's oos. Amber glad you found an alternative.

Dry hope the black eye fades quickly. Glad you like the Gigis. If I wasn't trying to be good I'd have bought a pair myself. They are lovely.

Queen weekend plans sound great and much deserved and glad it's not only me dealing with tired, back to school dc. Lovely shoes btw.

justasecond · 08/09/2016 21:56

Waves to Marsha welcome back! I was wondering where you were. Glad the new job is going well.

Love that skirt kitty
bernice those shoes are lovely, similar to some suede ones I got in the summer.
everyone those boden shoes are lovely, worth a try although I'm another one that finds their shoes uncomfortable.
Lovely purchases lib esp the cardi jacket
fed up shame about your jumpsuit.

amber omg I am going to Bicester tommorow too. Taking my dm who can barely walk these days with her dodgy knees so will prob be a short visit. She needs to get them done but keeps putting it off. Will have to think of something nice to wear now!

Everyonelovessparkles · 08/09/2016 21:59

Thanks for the link kitty it is that type of style I'm looking for, so definitely one to consider.

dry glad you like the Gigi's. I was tempted by the silver ones too but have decided I need to try did stop buying lots of stuff for next yesr in the sales / when there are offers as this is what leads to some of my duff purchases. Shame about the black eye though, that doesn't sound good.

I feel for you all with kids back at school - on one hand I bet you're glad the holidays are over but on another the first few weeks must be difficult as everyone readapts to being back.

Enjoy Bicester tomorrow amber. I'll look forward to hearing about your bargains Smile

queen I like those shoes. Glad you managed to get them with a code. Your weekend sounds good. It's DDs birthday so I have to endure a lovely soft play party and spend most of tomorrow making her cake - a princess cake nonetheless! I'll be requiring a vat of prosecco to get me through the next few days!

Stokey · 08/09/2016 22:06

Brave making the princess cake yourself Everyone, think I bought an Aurora one from Sainsbo for Dd1s 3rd birthday.

Really enjoyed the Vogue doc, tho the journo is clearly trying to entice a cat fight. Bonkers pulling the cover when it's in production, I can't imagine the work that would entail.

FedupNagging · 08/09/2016 22:22

Ouch Dry that sounds a bit painful. Fingers crossed it fades asap.

Am hoping my silver gigi's arrive tomorrow as we're going away with friends for a few days and the weather is meant to be lovely so they'd work with several outfits if I could just decide what exactly to take

Queen I love the blue suede shoes, so you.

libertydoddle · 08/09/2016 22:23

ignores QueenC 10 items...what kind of loon tries to do that? Grin
