Summertime, and the livin' is easy...some of us are basking on beaches, others are managing the madness that is school's out but work goes on...either way we want to look chic in the heat while it lasts

Come tell us what you are wearing on these balmy days...it's friendly here Smile

DH bought it for me fedup Smile

I still think I'm a size 14-16, one and it's been 8 years since I lost the weight. I'm always surprised when I take a small size into the changing room and it fits. Equally I still fight the instinct to tell people I'm 19 when asked my age.

Bad news Blair, I'm keeping the DVF Megan dress. When I tried it DH said 'is it a size too big?', which it technically is, but I don't like my dresses sprayed on for work (play is another matter...)

House is SO quiet and tidy without the kids. Cat is a bit lost - keeps watching the front door and mewling at me. The irony is when they're here he's forced into a doll's pram/turned into a real life game of buckaroo, so why he's pining, I have no idea!

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 25/07/2016 22:57

amber i'm still 18 in my head so i hear you there. I've got to be honest, the dress i had on today i bought as 'my next goal' i only tried it on to see how far i'd got to go and then when it fit, i sort of stood flapping my hands for a minute and not knowing what to think. Every time i go down a size i have a momentary panic that i'm dreaming and i'm goign to wake up back int he size 22's and feeling like a beached whale haha

AmberNectarine · 25/07/2016 23:06

QueenC one of your weekend links finally came to fruition. I have had this dress pinned for months after you linked for me and I have finally ordered it!

AmberNectarine · 25/07/2016 23:09

I hear you one, even though objectively I know I'm a 6-8, I'm still astonished when anyone refers to me as slim. People who didn't know me a decade ago never believe I was 4.5st heavier!

You've done so well, I know it's not easy, especially when you can't exercise.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 25/07/2016 23:13

thanks Amber literally the only things ive done are change portion sizes, cut the amount of sugar i have in hot drinks and try to walk as much as i can. i think ive had a push because ive come off the steroids now as well so that will be helping as they definitely made me balloon, they are a wonderful but terrible drug. they have so many benefits if you need them but the side effects are horrific really

Dreamqueen · 26/07/2016 06:41

I've woken up with the large, sore throat, aching joints and a cough. I've got to come to town and at this minute even showering feels beyond me. Sad

I like your customised jeans Amber I can't picture you being a 14, You've got my dream figure. One your loss is amazing in that you've done it without and starving or fad diets. I'll use you as inspiration to make a start on losing some lbs.

Today my outfit will be all abaout comfort, Stans, jeans & a striped top of some description or Uniqlo denim dress & Stans.

MarshaBradyhot · 26/07/2016 06:48

Morning

Getting hotter here, still lovely, such a nice holiday place, working on the tan (with 50+ like putting on toothpaste!) still tanning through it.

One that's really something, you sound really positive which is wonderful and well-deserved. Really pleased for you

MarshaBradyhot · 26/07/2016 06:49

Thanks for thread Lib I like the effort put in to the op, I could feel your relief Grin

Dream hope you feel better soon

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 26/07/2016 07:15

thank you marsha Smile

I have the task today of sorting out my sock and underwear drawers. i am not relishing this task haha

Drywhitethanks · 26/07/2016 07:16

Amber that dress is gorgeous, love it......you will look incredible in it.

QueenC1 · 26/07/2016 07:26

Phew, just catching up....
amber that is seriously annoying.
one well done, fantastic achievement.
shop Envy
blingy outfit sounds great. I intend to live in shorts all week.
dry if you do the relay on grass I'll join in ( can't runnon hard surfaces) but I may be better at the shopping and prosecco marathon.

Went to get my blood test results yesterday. Hormones levels are high-fsh is 29-but needs to be 30 to diagnose menopause. It's reassuring that I haven't been going completely mad though and obviously my ovaries are starting to fail me!

QueenC1 · 26/07/2016 07:28

Somehow, I missed page 2 before posting!
Yay, I love it when someone buys something I link!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 26/07/2016 12:30

Amber great dress, I've seen E&J dresses I like before and wondered what they're like in the flesh. They often have them here. Glad the DVF is a keeper!

Off to hairdressers at lunchtime. Will see if I'm brave enough to do a pic later :)

shopafrolic · 26/07/2016 15:02

NC Marsha?? Shock

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 26/07/2016 15:04

you've all been so kind, it gives me the warm fuzzies Smile

i do't quite fit everything in a 14 yet but the numbers are slowly going down on more and more things so progress is being made all the time even if i dont always notice it

are you going for something drastic blair?

queenC i had very similar numbers whenmy hormone levels were tested a few months ago so they said i'm almost there which is a bti depressing given im only in my thierties but i suppose given both my mum and her mum both had early menopauses, it shouldn't really be much of a surprise. still, could have done without it right now haha

Stokey · 26/07/2016 15:51

Marsha you are hot Grin

oh Blair yes give us a pic

Amazing work on the weight loss One, can't be easy when you can't do much exercise.

Can really see you in that dress Amber

Thanks for the new thread Lib, I have that song in my head all summer.

I ended up sending back the black & white bikini as decided it didn't support me enough, and reordered the multi coloured top in a different size. Have also bought the neon GAP dress that Shop has - loving the colour although it is a bit see through - strictly over bikini.

I'm feeling a bit unprepared for our holiday in 10 days. I still need new flip flops and crocs for DDs and am trying to do some work with no child care - never a good idea.

MarshaBradyhot · 26/07/2016 16:04
Grin

Oh I know but it was that or be outcast for two whole weeks. Since destroying my phone (and all passwords to old emails etc) I cannot post from my phone so had to set up a new name for the holiday.. And had to add a holiday hot. haha thanks Stokey Grin

Mn know about it and I'll finally sort it all out when I get home, back to old name. It was a hard one for me Shop knows this, nothing wedges me from my name. But I was missing you all too much!

MarshaBradyhot · 26/07/2016 16:06

Blair how was it? Pic always welcome!

Stokey good vibes for working w/o cc always tough. Holidays soon! Where are you going?

Dreamqueen · 26/07/2016 17:12

Love your holiday name Marsha

Thanks for the bikini update Stokey I was tempted to order the black and white one, will reconsider now.

How short have you gone with your hair Blair?

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 26/07/2016 17:28

Just below shoulders, a lob I guess you'd call it. About 5 inches off, it was long overdue Blush

Stokey where are you off to? Wise choice on the bikinis, it doesn't sound like you're that unprepared!

DH booked flights to France yesterday - we are flying to a piddly little airport, so it's with Ryanair and I will need to live out of a hand luggage case for 8 days! Luckily it's been really really hot out there, but still...

Everyonelovessparkles · 26/07/2016 20:00

Hope the plumbers turned up today amber

Hair sounds nice blair. I'm also really lazy at getting mine cut but whenever I do, I always vow to do it more regularly.

I keep seeing a few good sale bargains on various websites but am being good and not going into temptation yet

libertydoddle · 26/07/2016 23:00

This Iris and Ink silk shirt arrived today. It's big but will mostly wear it tucked it with skirts or culottes for work - for anyone else looking at their tops worth sizing down. Blair they are pricier obviously but if you need to replace any of your Uniqlo silk shirts I would definitely recommend these.

PMT week and finding work a real drag, not getting through what I need to...if I don't crack a few things tomorrow I'll have to take work with me on hols to Ireland next week I think which would be v v annoying.

There have been other threads about it today but if you need your spirits lifted and faith in politics restored take a look at the speech Michelle Obama made at the Democratic convention yesterday - I LOVE that woman, I can't wait to see what she does once she's no longer trapped in first lady role.

Oh and remember all my moaning about the builderesque (on me) qualities of the Hush jumpsuit? I have mentally reassigned it as 'working from home wear' Grin and am living in it - so comfy and very appropriate for (a) answering the door to DHL (b) popping down to co-op for milk (c) doing work skype call as it's a collared top so I look quite respectable.

Nice shirt Lib

Today I'm town, so excited. yesterday i was asked if I'd be the model for a makeup demo on mature skin at a famous beauty school in Covent Garden. I'm usually crap at applying makeup so i'm hoping to pick up some tips. It sounds like a fun trip out, they buy lunch & I get given a £50 gift card so win win. will report back later on it & if I'm any better at putting the slap on Smile

looks like rain here so need to rethink outfit. Jeans, stans & breton I think.

Stokey · 27/07/2016 08:04

I wore my for the first time last week Lib and got quite a few compliments. Both women I was with were keen to order one.

Make-up sounds great Dream, I'm hopeless, just chuck on some bright lippy & hope no-one notices the rest of me.

We're off to La Bella Italia, a week in the lakes and a week in Chianti-shire. All with family and self catering so we'll see how much of a holiday it is!
