Summertime, and the livin' is easy...some of us are basking on beaches, others are managing the madness that is school's out but work goes on...either way we want to look chic in the heat while it lasts

Come tell us what you are wearing on these balmy days...it's friendly here Smile

Great question shop. I need new foundation!! I currently use Laura Mercier tinted moisturiser and last winter I used Elizabeth Arden double wear. But I think the double wear feels too heavy.

Morning Smile

Ordered these silver gigi's yesterday thanks to Kitty - brilliant price. Dream I'm a 4-4.5 but size up to a 5 as have wide feet.

Only managed to buy a pair of shoes yesterday - these pointy flats. I think I need to try them on with some outfits before I decide to definitely keep.

Lib hope your dh is recovering well and not in too much pain.

I have a faux fur leopard print jacket which must be about 8 years old and I love wearing it with jeans in the winter. Otherwise I have a couple of Gap biker style jackets, & tweed jacket, duvet coat, MK puffa jacket, boden coatigan, whistles tweed coat, 2 threadbare gilets, Asos cape - plus various smart work type jackets so generally pick from that lot. The one thing I do need is a waterproof jacket/coat which will go with anything.

i'm bouncing between doublewear light and l'oreal true match. Both are the only foundations i've found up to now that are pale enough for me. The l'oreal is pretty good coverage for a high street product. I've also got a little left of the revlon colour stay whipped creme i managed to get but it's hard to find here as only the liquid version of it is currently under official release here as far as i know

FedupNagging · 07/09/2016 08:12

Shop this foundation - it's the best I've used - fairly light and a really good skin tone match - think there are about 20 odd shades to choose from

AmberNectarine · 07/09/2016 09:49

I am looking forward to getting my Whistles plum teddy coat out again (must get that dry cleaned). At moment I am rotating 3 leather bikers - burgundy, black and the new metallic one.

OOTD: Pyjama shirt (as seen on Kate Garraway - I wore it first), grey DKNY slim fit trousers, Topshop gold glove shoes and the Gucci bow collar. Bag is big burgundy Pashli. Not for everyone, but I love this outfit.

AmberNectarine · 07/09/2016 09:50

Oh and I use Bobbi Brown moisture rich foundation in Warm Sand which is the perfect match for my skin. However, I'm rocking a summer glow right now so not bothering with foundation.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 07/09/2016 11:11

Amber I love hearing about your OOTDs. The Gucci collar sounds like it's going to end up being such a good buy. I want to get a choker, but not sure how to avoid ending up looking like a tragic 90s wannabe, as I think that would be the automatic effect on me!

My OOTD is Uniqlo sleeveless navy silk shirt, Peter Pilotto Target printed pencil skirt, Uterque shoes (omg they go with everything!), and my gold and silver chunky Links chains together. Loving mixed metals since I got my watch :)

This AW I'm looking forward to wearing my LKB riding boots that Lib got first, my Pistols, and my MK cape.

I don't wear foundation, only tinted SPF, but when I want to make a bit more effort I wear nars tinted moisturiser.

libertydoddle · 07/09/2016 13:25

Fab outfits amber and Blair. My outfit today too boring, am WRH and haven't even had a shower Blush

Blair I am really looking forward to wearing the LKB boots too!!

I have just arranged to take my wedding dress to a local second hand bridal boutique for selling. It's , just on the off chance anyone reading this happens to be interested Wink and it is incredibly sparkly in real life.

shopafrolic · 07/09/2016 14:13

Thanks for all the foundation recs so far. Lib I wear LM tinted moisturiser too and love it but think I need some more coverage during the day now Hmm

Stokey · 07/09/2016 17:22

I normally wear the L'oreal Bb cream during the day and Bobbi Brown foundation stick if I need more cover or at night, I think i have honey. I'm tempted by Touche Eclat though.

Stokey · 07/09/2016 17:22

Oh and am checking out the Cloggs website Kitty ...

Stokey · 07/09/2016 18:12

Thanks to kitty, I now have a pair of silver Ash Virgins winging their way to me at a bargainacious price Star

Has anyone read Times 2 today? There's an interesting article with top tips from J-Crew director Jenna Lyons & Net A Porter buyer Sarah Rutson.

A couple of tips were buy trousers you like in two lengths, one to wear with flats and one to wear with heels, and expect to alter everything.

kittyhello · 07/09/2016 19:28

That's such a beautiful dress Blair

Glad you managed to get some Virgins Stokey that's good advice re: trousers I have black bistro crops which I wear with flats and a longer pair which I wear with heels.

I love black trousers and am lusting after Mary-Kate's black trousers They're probably The Row and cost a bomb Sad If anyone finds a similar pair please give me a shout!

Shop I only need light coverage and use Clinique chubby in the nude foundation stick, it's great and very lightweight, I sometimes use Bobbi Brown tinted moisturiser when I want an all in one job.

My Virgins arrived today and they really do come up large, I'm looking forward to wearing them.

justasecond · 07/09/2016 19:42

Kitty those trousers do look lovely, hope someone can find some bargain lookalikes
shop i use Armani Luminous silk foundation. I have tried and tested so many over the years and find this to be the best (for me anyway) good coverage but still natural looking.
blair I used to wear chokers a lot in the 90's no outfit ever seemed complete without one! i'm sure you could pull one off, isn't the rule that you shouldn't do the same twice? Meant to ask you whether your bloating is better now? I'm on my 4th antibiotic course, sick of the bloat!

shopafrolic · 07/09/2016 19:43

Stokey I have bought jeans in two lengths in the past - my MiH flares I had altered - one pair to wear with trainers, one with heels. Too late to buy the Times now. Would have liked to read......
I've sold my dining table - WOOHOO! We now have nothing to sit and eat at possibly for 4 weeks Grin

shopafrolic · 07/09/2016 21:40

Can someone find me a high street version of this coat? here this is how I want to look this AW

shopafrolic · 07/09/2016 21:40

I should say thanks to the lovely Anni for the Pin

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 07/09/2016 22:15

How about this one shop?

Thanks justa, it's about the same overall but varies day to day. I feel ok today. Sorry to hear you're still suffering, ABs are horrible when you have to be on them for a while. We'll see about the chokers! I do already have a metal collar type one.

kitty will keep an eye out for trousers, they look like the kind of thing one might have been able to get at Atterley before they went bust. MK&A haven't aged well have they?! Blush

shopafrolic · 07/09/2016 22:40

Blimey you're good Blair Thanks Will take a look on Saturday with my niece.

shopafrolic · 07/09/2016 22:41

Oh and I can't do chokers again after being a 90s raver. Hence my love of skinny scarves instead.

AmberNectarine · 07/09/2016 22:48

I think you'd suit a choker Blair, maybe a velvet one with a pearl type charm - have a look on ASOS.

Client facing day tomorrow so will have to tone it down . Might wear some interesting jewellery to liven things up.

AmberNectarine · 07/09/2016 22:56

Hopefully has just got a stunning Harris Wharf one a bit like that shop. Not super cheap but a coat is an investment...

kitty I'd look at j crew, banana republic, Elizabeth and James, Helmut Lang for trousers like that. Or maybe these?

shopafrolic · 07/09/2016 22:59

Never heard of Harris Wharf Amber

AmberNectarine · 08/09/2016 00:06
