Summertime, and the livin' is easy...some of us are basking on beaches, others are managing the madness that is school's out but work goes on...either way we want to look chic in the heat while it lasts

Come tell us what you are wearing on these balmy days...it's friendly here Smile

Dream that sounds fantastic - looking forward to hearing your hints and tips! I think it's a cop out using you as an example of 'mature skin' though - your skin is amazing!

QueenC1 · 27/07/2016 08:41

dream not suprised you got picked-as I remember both you and justa had lovely skin. Have a great day.
lib hope you feel better and get your work done. Are you sure the shirt works and you don't need to size down.

Looking a bit grey here but meant to get brighter later. Hope so as all my plans for this week involve good weather-I haven't thought of any wet weather alternatives.

QueenC1 · 27/07/2016 08:43

I did a cheeky sales purcase the other day-sandals. I love my pink morrocan sandals but the cheap camel leather has all stretched (not suprising when they cost about £4!) so these are to replace them.

shopafrolic · 27/07/2016 08:51

Dream that sounds great. Have a wonderful day. Hard to keep up. Sorry for everything I miss.
Back on the lounger at the splash pool this morning. DH and I taking it in turns with DS. Amazing meal last night with lots of lovely rosé. DS refuses to nap in the afternoons though so was broken by 8.30pm so back to the room we traipsed. Have said to DH that when he naps this afternoon in the big bed he needs to take DS with him.
I've failed a bit on the holiday wardrobe as didn't realise that it would be so hot in the evenings so am having to wear jersey day dresses some evenings but it's pretty relaxed here so I think it's ok. Orange Boden bikini, sunnies and my ridiculously huge sun hat from Accessorize which I love and looks way more £££ than it was. Have lovely days all.
Marsha Where you are is already 45 mins ish away so another chunk on top of that probably makes MU unlikely. Shame. Would have been fun to do cocktails.

libertydoddle · 27/07/2016 09:06

Hmmmm, I might need to size down QueenC. Will try on again later. Pain though with delivery as we go to ireland on Saturday and I don't want to pay for next day delivery....pretty sandals!

Stokey I imagine the jumpsuit has a completely different vibe to it in black. Much classier than kakhi. And the main problem is my ample bottom!!

Hi all!
sooo much to catch up on! I can't login on my phone as I can't remember my password and it is usually really late by the time I can get on the laptop.
Well done on the weightloss one that is really impressive!
Hope Marsha, shop and anyone else on hols is having a fab time.
We are going to Paris for a few days next week, am feeling a bit nervous about it tbh Sad Angry about whats been happening there.
Going back a bit but your party outfit sounded lovely lib
Love those sandals queenc
Dream that sounds amazing and yes you did have gorgeous skin at the mu.Please share your tips!
Have a great holiday stokey
I have made a few purchases
red suede flats
zara shirt
looks better on!
I have been stalking these those for ages on matches and they had another 20% off yesterday flats not sure how they will look or fit but will report back.

I'm sure I have missed loads of people, I'll try and keep up a bit better from now

maradesbois · 27/07/2016 13:22

Hello,

Thanks for new thread lib, fx for you that you can get up to date with work and not take on hols.

dream makeup thing sounds fab and not surprised at all you were selected, as already said you have flawless skin.

Stokey nice purchases and the flats look gorgeous. I wasn't sure about pointy flats for ages but really love my tabitha Simmons white ones. Hear you about France, thinking about what is happening and not feeling secure kept me awake last night and v bad for already not good tolerance too. Don't let it put you off enjoying the beauty of Paris though, what do you have planned?

My waistline is getting too used to the good life so lucky that we are coming home soon. Need to invest in some new running trainers and get my (ample) arse into gear. Sitting on balcony with post prandial espresso watching the yachts in the bay for 10 mins before carrying on with work.

Shop and Marsha your holiday pics are fab, enjoy!

libertydoddle · 27/07/2016 14:58

Ok QueenC you were right to prompt me to think again about the sizing. PMT is a bugger for playing with my perceptions of what's ok so I laid it out on the bed and put my favourite silk shirt (gorgeous A&W one that Shop gave me nearly two years ago) on top and the I&I one was so much bigger!!! Which then made me also compare the sleeveless one I got last week and I've concluded it's also too big. Then while dithering I realised I didn't really care about organising an exchange on the yellow one (which is a good clue that I don't love it that much) but that I'd be very upset if I couldn't exchange the red.

Both red and yellow are now winging their merry way back to the Outnet. Exchange organised to get a size 10 in the red and the lovely helpful people in CS there have put a note on the system not to send my new shirt until after I get back from holidays.

Phew, no wonder I'm behind with work - managing my wardrobe is a full time job Grin

I'm actually doing ok today - on a roll....issue is whether other people who I am waiting for things from are on the same roll...

OP posts:
shopafrolic · 27/07/2016 15:03

Well handled Lib - also lovely to hear how much you love the A&W one still.
We moved back to our private pool this afternoon after a little one pooed in the splash pool this morning. - not my DS thankfully Grin

Dreamqueen · 27/07/2016 16:26

I've had a great day out. going out tonight to show off my new make up look. For the first time ever I've got perfectly applied foundation. I now realise that I should be putting stuff on gently & delicately rather than what I normally do. She also blended everything on the back of her hand & said don't be afraid to mix different products even if they're not from the same brand to get a perfect colour. The eye shadows are shades of plum in a 'cut crease' style (???) and orangey/apricot lips. She over an hour to do my final look. That could be where I've been going wrong. Normally I can do shower, hair & face in 25 mins.

I reached town early so had a look around Covent garden. I was very tempted by the little Chanel shop full of make up & sunglasses but I stayed strong. Bargain of the day is dress it will be perfect for Autumn dining out.

Great purchases Justa

Well done on sending back the shirts Lib I hate doing returns.

your pool outfit sounds fab Shop

Stokey · 27/07/2016 17:22

Think you got me & Justa Mixed up Mara!

Great purchases Justa, the Givenchy flats are amazing.

Funnily enough I was out with a friend who was raving about Bimba y Lola last night, she'd got some pink ballet flats from there and lovely court shoes.

I have had a child free day to work and think I've got most of it done. My main problem is that everyone is on holiday so I can't get anyone to give me a comment. Frustrating.

maradesbois · 27/07/2016 19:00

Oops Stokey, had justa in my head when I was writing it so not sure why I put you! Enjoy your hols, sounds fab, love the Italian reds with a nice bowl of fresh pasta with porcini, yum!

So did ds nap Shop? Grin. Mine has been up to all hours this summer, going to be a nightmare to get back on track before school starts. We stayed in a hotel last summer and had the issue of not being able to go out every night but it was a cheapo place without even a balcony never mind room service, at least you have the luxury of a posh room to be confined to Grin.

maradesbois · 27/07/2016 19:02

dream love the dress and great bargain. Glad the makeup day was a success.

one, I forgot to congratulate you on the amazing weight loss, a real achievement.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 27/07/2016 19:28

So my size 10 warehouse jumpsuit arrived 😂

MN Vogue - vol. 72
Drywhitethanks · 27/07/2016 20:21

Looks huge Blair how did you get the laughing with tears emoji?

Back from my night away. Just heaven. Exactly my sort of understated luxury amidst breathtaking countryside with delicios food and great wine. Then back to grumpy teenagers Hmm

I bought myself the swim suit like Shop's bikini today....love it

Drywhitethanks · 27/07/2016 20:25

this one

libertydoddle · 27/07/2016 20:35

Sounds like a great night away Dry. Lovely swimsuit.

Blair Shock that's a shocker!!!

Justa swoon at the Givenchy - fingers crossed they are good.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 27/07/2016 20:53

I know! It's completely ridiculous. Hmm Dry I posted from my phone which has the emoji keyboard on it. (on iPhone go to Settings, general, keyboards, keyboards, add new keyboard)

I'm really gutted. Am organising my 30th birthday do and SIL (Dh's sister) and BIL (who initially said they were free, then said they might not have childcare) have pulled out to go to an evening wedding reception of a former work colleague of his. :(

Merriboo · 27/07/2016 21:10

Blair I was looking forward to you reporting back on this, but wasn't expecting it to look like that!! 😂 Rethinks ordering....
Ohh that's rotten, wouldn't be impressed.

Loving the reports of hols from everyone. Spent my week off last week doing the final house clearance of my parents, also my childhood home Sad

justasecond · 27/07/2016 22:52

Good thinking on the shirts lib I should prob do the same with some black jbrand skinnies I picked up in tkmaxx for £18 today. They are a size too big but feel nice on, think I will just wear them with a belt.

Lovely dress dream and a bargain. Sounds like a good day but who has an hour to spare for make up in the mornings!
On the subject of make up, my new favourite lipsticks are Nars Audacious, anyone else use them?
Shame about the jumpsuit blair it could have been a winner.
Nothing planned yet mara but one thing we will not be doing this time is disney, the dc have not even asked. Anyone got any recommendations for stuff to see/do with dc other than the usual sights? Just hope we will be ok as its an unfortunate double whammy of fear of being safe and fear of reprisals as I am visibly muslim.
That sounds tough meriboo Flowers

libertydoddle · 27/07/2016 22:56

Flowers Merriboo that's a tough job. Will you have any proper holiday time?

Blair I'd be upset at that too, it's rude.

OP posts:
Dreamqueen · 28/07/2016 06:32

Justa I love Nars, I have Heatwave & Lana lipsticks.

Blair that looks nothing like their pic, how disappointing. I had that on my maybe list but have crossed it off now.

I like the swimsuit Dry

Merriboo that must have been very emotional.

I've woken up with hardly any voice this morning, I can cope with that. The lurgy seems to be waning.

libertydoddle · 28/07/2016 07:21

justa hope you have a great time in Paris. Totally understandable that you feel nervous. My Dad says he felt self conscious about his accent at times when he lived in the UK in the 70's / 80's as he was nervous about attitudes towards Irish people when the risk of terrorism was from the IRA. These are horrible times.

OP posts:
QueenC1 · 28/07/2016 08:04

justa horrible that you have to feel so scared. Love the zara shirt. Couldn't see the last shoes.
merriboo that sounds tough
dream glad you had a good day. Like that mango dress.
dry love the swimming costume. I really like m&s ones.
lib glad you returned it. Ive done similar in the past thinking oh, it's fine tucked in but really it's not. Also, as soon as you said you were premenstrual I knew you'd just be settling for something not quite right.

Went out last night for a couple of glasses of wine. I could have done without dd waking at 6.30.

QueenC1 · 28/07/2016 08:05

dry saw this top whilst browsing and thought of you
