Summertime, and the livin' is easy...some of us are basking on beaches, others are managing the madness that is school's out but work goes on...either way we want to look chic in the heat while it lasts

Come tell us what you are wearing on these balmy days...it's friendly here Smile

I'm here shop!

Lots to catch up on!

Glad shop and blingy had a nice meet up.

one well done on the good clear out! It's nice that others can benefit too. I always take old stuff to the charity shop, even stuff that they can't sell as they send it for fabric recycling so still get cash for it, so need to put anything in the bin.

Glad the wedding was good amber and you liked your dress. Always a nice ego boost to get hit on! Hope you're enjoying your holiday.

Treated myself to a Gucci blooms (in blue) purse at Heathrow today. I really wanted the pouch but they didn't have it. Love that blooms print, it is so pretty!

Drywhitethanks · 30/08/2016 20:45

Evening all. No fashion news here whatsoever........won't stop me rambling though Grin

Amber not surprised you were chatted up, you looked stunning. What shoes did you wear? The gold sandals?

One do you actually have any clothes left? Seems as if you've been decluttering for years Grin

Blingy love the 'in bed with bling on' comment, wish I'd seen MrB's and MrSh's faces Grin

QueenC love autumn colours .....really need to have a good mooch but will hold out until mid sept........am feeling uninspired, will be goid to get back into work clothes soon.

Hi everyone!

So big returns day for me. dhl came to collect £2,600 worth of stuff. I have brand alley and selfridges packages all ready to post. I don't think I recognise meGrin and for the first time in ages I don't have a pile of "stuff" by the side of my bed waiting to be sorted. It's almost weird!! Hope everyone has had good days.

Shop you don't need a bigger table. For 3 reasons. 1. We could all have fit round if we had wanted to 2. The table you have is the perfect size for your room, anything bigger would overwhelm the room which would be a pity and 3. How often do you have 8 people sat around the table? Is it often enough to change the feel of the room???

shopafrolic · 30/08/2016 21:06

Blingy

  1. Tight squeeze tho
  2. Not if I move some of his toys to his bedroom and sell a toy storage unit (done today) and then run the table lengthwise along the window
  3. At least twice a month
Plus, it is from the same furniture range as the rest of our oak stuff (never knew they did a table) - and I've had our current one for over 15 years and always hated how it extends. Done deal. Grin
Longislandicetee · 30/08/2016 21:10

lol and there i was trying to save you cash!!!😇

shopafrolic · 30/08/2016 21:12

Too weird. Too weird.

Longislandicetee · 30/08/2016 21:21

well I have been in cash saving mood all night...I have managed to get a deal for our xmas holiday. First class there, club back and a 5 star hotel for the same price as the initial quote just for the flights (on club) Dh doesn't like the hotel. Sometimes I could cheerfully throttle him!

libertydoddle · 30/08/2016 21:28

Everyone I am Envy at your new Gucci purse. Gorgeous, what a lovely treat Smile.

Blingy can you take your temperature please? Or maybe ask DH?? Grin

Exciting on the new table Shop.

It's hit me properly that our plans mean that this time next year our house should be sold so I've gone into organised mode and I have completely decluttered and deep cleaned the kitchen over the last two days - done in lots of 30 mins spurts in between emails and telecons!! My cupboards have never been so organised. Obviously I'll need to do again before we sell but feels like getting on top of stuff now will make the big move less stressful.

Hi all! Am home, back to work today which was a bit of a shock. France was HOT! It was quite nice not thinking about what to wear and just chucking on proper summer clothes each day. Blush

Had a good catch up earlier.
Blingy I loved reading about your hauls! Well done on the returns. Do get the bracelet. Wink
Mara swoonsome bag, worthy of a special birthday. Amazing to think how long it takes to make.
Amber glad the wedding was fun, sounds dreamy.
Lib I think I'm going to love Uniqlo this season too. I've got a set of Caran d'Ache pencils,

Longislandicetee · 30/08/2016 21:43

Welcome back Blair!! Did you have a good time? How are you feeling? I have actually been put off the bracelet purchase because I lost my Boodles ring for 2 weeks and was a bit petrified I would have to replace it. Its found now!Blush So I am back to thinking about it now!

Lib sob, can't bear to think about it. You will fly back for Halloween each year?Grin

Everyone is that the same purse as the bag Mara linked?

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 30/08/2016 21:47

dry you would genuinely have been horrified at the amount of stuff that i pulled out when i emptied every wardrobe, cupboard, storage box and drawer Blush plus previously i was just replacing everything i got rid of Blush Blush no more though! once it's gone, it's gone this time!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 30/08/2016 21:57

Yes thanks Blingy! I'm feeling the same really and a few pounds heavier but I did speak to Sleep before I went away and it was a relief to hear she thinks I may still be getting over the glandular fever in some ways. I can't really say that to anyone in real life, they'd think I was mad! Anyway onwards and upwards hopefully :)

Lib cross post, well done on the clear out! Very exciting plans, can't believe it's only a year to go.

AmberNectarine · 30/08/2016 22:15

Bonsoir de Paris! Getting linguistically confused now - keep lapsing into Italian and Spanish when speaking to people. The trials of an international summer, I suppose!

Not much to report, other than a very brief nip into Sephora earlier where I bought a dark plum Matt lipstick, which was so admired by the waitress at dinner she asked me to get it out and look at the product name and number! Will do proper shopping on Thurs!

Everyonelovessparkles · 31/08/2016 06:36

I think it is the same print that mara has - I knew someone had it but couldn't remember who! I just got the small one as realised I don't often use a big wallet much these days and the small one is perfect for small bags.

blingy you have been organised! And excellent negotiating!

blair glad you had a nice holiday. It can be refreshing not having to think about what to wear.

lib I'm very impressed with your deep clean. My kitchen could do with that as well but it's one of those jobs that I start in earnest and then get fed up after about 30mins and just put everything back!

shop there's no stopping you when you decide something! When is the new table due?

Everyonelovessparkles · 31/08/2016 06:40

it's this one

libertydoddle · 31/08/2016 16:17

Everyone busy with last minute back to school shopping???

Everyone I followed this uk.pinterest.com/pin/321937073346671824/checklist to do the kitchen. Made it feel manageable, I have form for starting these jobs and giving up because it feels too much Smile

Have a properly autumnal outfit on today. skirt with beige and dark green Chinti and Parker striped top (given to me by Shop who originally got it from Bernice Smile) and beige Superga.

Dreamqueen · 31/08/2016 16:25

Welcome home Blair glad that you had a great hol.

Wow Blingy that is a serious amount of returns. You are single handedly keeping DHL going Smile

Lib when do you move? i need to do some deep cleaning but keep putting it off.

Shop I love a big dining table.

No S&B here. I'm on day 6 of dogsitting and my movements have been seriously curtailed. He is very well behaved & no trouble but I feel like I have a toddler all over again & don't like to leave him for more that an hour at a time. The upside is that I'm doing a crazy amount of walking everyday

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 31/08/2016 16:37

outfit sounds fab lib

my ootd has been slim fit black trousers with tiny white spots, grey star wars tee and long grey ribbed boyfriend cardigan with lo top black converse. felt just about right for the weather today

i have an ear infection, ended up at OOH last night as i'd got blood coming from the ear canal and they were concerned it might be something more serious but thankfully it's just an ear infection, a pretty nasty one but perfectly treatable

libertydoddle · 31/08/2016 16:37

About this time next year Dream, will depend on house sale and work contracts but basically plan to leave in time for DD to start school in Feb 17 in our new destination with time for some R&R in SE Asia along the way.

Crap Lib that is less than 6 months away :(
Love that Everyone
I started my Bullet Journal today - love a bit of new stationery - and organisation. So this is right up my street.

libertydoddle · 31/08/2016 17:20

Opps sorry Shop, Feb 18 not Feb 17 - that would give me a heart attack!!!

OP posts:
libertydoddle · 31/08/2016 17:21

Ohhh ear sounds painful One. Hope it clears up soon.

OP posts:
shopafrolic · 31/08/2016 17:34

It did me!

Everyonelovessparkles · 31/08/2016 20:16

Thanks for that lib will take a look or just pass it on to my mum for when she comes to visit Grin

There's definitely an autumnal nip in the air now in the mornings and evenings. Outfit sounds nice lib.

Hope you're feeling a bit better one. Ear infections are nasty.

What's a bullet journal shop?

Longislandicetee · 31/08/2016 21:30

Hello! I bit the Autumn bug because the dcs are back to school! Curtains drawn and candles lit, in my cozy bedroom. I have also decided to get back into the habit of watching tv so just watched GBBO for the first time! The dcs actually went to bed when they were supposed to!!!!

Dream, most of my returns were because everytime someone posted a suggested link for the party dress, I bought it. I spent £3,100! I only kept one dress, the one I wore, suggested by Amber, so returned the rest.

Today was my last day of my sorting my life out week. I am pleased with where I got to, though I could probably do with another few days. I have tried to eliminate as much low level stressful things out of my life and after my shite luck with PAs, for the first time in 2 years I had time off without religiously checking my emails. I just feel so much better.

One of my sort my life out things, was dh and I finally sorting out a will. In hindsight we have been quite irresponsible. The last couple of days we have for the first time had conversations about what happens when either/both of us dies. I am actually quite chuffed with how sensible and unemotional we have both been in talking about some quite sensitive things and coming to a joint solution. I was concerned about him remarrying and in his grief being hoodwinked into marrying some Cruella who nicks our dcs inheritance. He was more concerned that in my grief I would go on a handbags and shoes rampage and piss away the dcs inheritance in Bond Street. Tbh his concern is the much more realistic one!GrinBlush
