Summertime, and the livin' is easy...some of us are basking on beaches, others are managing the madness that is school's out but work goes on...either way we want to look chic in the heat while it lasts

Come tell us what you are wearing on these balmy days...it's friendly here Smile

It is fab. Started mine ages ago but yesterday was the first time I took it seriously and concentrated. DS did his colouring next to me. Was quite a nice way to spend an hour. better than sodding Monopoly

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 28/08/2016 23:07

i love colouring books, i've got quite a few and i love sitting doing them if i can't sleep Smile

libertydoddle · 28/08/2016 23:12

What do you use for colouring shop and one? Pencils or markers? Any recommendations on brands?

OP posts:
OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 28/08/2016 23:18

i've got both lib i've got some bog standard steadler pencils and some berol felt tip pens as well as some sharpie markers and I also have some derwent watercolour pencils for when im feeling super fancy. The kids are allowed to use the steadler pencils and the berol felt pens but not the sharpie or derwent stuff, the derwent pencils are just for me and me alone.

libertydoddle · 28/08/2016 23:41

Thanks one. Yes, whatever I buy will be kept well away from DD!

so this morning, i have purged my wardrobe of seven pairs of jeans which are bagged ready to give to sister 1 and of two dresses and a blazer which are bagged to give to sister 2. i cant believe i had all those jeans hiding which are all too big for me! the jeans i wear now are two sizes down from the ones im giving away so they are of no use to me so why i still had them....shrugs....who even knows!!

hope everyone is well this sunny bank holiday Monday

libertydoddle · 29/08/2016 13:32

I know you're right shop - I'll get my holiday out of the way and get reading the Kondo book..

shopafrolic · 29/08/2016 18:01

Lib I have a set of Staedtler Norris Club coloured pencils.
Have been to Milton Keynes today and had a total refresh - we've bought new towels, bed linen, tea towels and DH has ordered new glasses. Also have my eye on a new dining table after we struggled to get FamilyBlingy around ours yesterday.
Well done One keep going :)

QueenC1 · 29/08/2016 18:32

Hello! What a lovely hot day today. Not that ive made any use of it as I've basically been buying school trainers (the hell that is sports direct) and doing housework (the cats seem to have malted everywhere whilst away) but now I'm enjoying a chilled white.

Whilst doing the hell of sports direct I dragged the kids into a few shops to browse. Exciting to see the a/w stuff around.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 29/08/2016 22:58

phew, thats one HUGE bag of stuff sorted for a pregnant friend so she can save on maternity wear, two smaller bags for a friend of a friend who is roughly my size and has similar taste in clothes, a bag each for both sisters, one bag of stuff thats no good for anything but the bin and two and a half bags for charity shop. Busy day today and theres still loads to go through as well!!! still the sooner its done the sooner i get my space back, right?

libertydoddle · 29/08/2016 23:15

Great stuff One. And lots of people benefit!

I had a busy day today, got several things done. Feels good. Also ordered a Uniqlo merino cardigan in olive and ordered the navy version of the beige jersey skirt I bought last week as I've been wearing it all weekend.

OP posts:
OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 29/08/2016 23:25

that's true lib lots of people will benefit from me clearing things out. that alone is a good reason to do it as i know some of the people who will be getting stuff from me wouldn't otherwise get much new stuff, so tight are their household budgets right now so it does feel good in a way to be helping them out while helping myself. Not that i mean they are charity cases, thats not it at all but it seems silly to just chuck it all out when theres people who will get real benefit from what ive got going spare

BerniceBobsHerHair · 30/08/2016 08:05

Well done one

happy you could get some money back by selling on eBay.

Sounds like you had a lovely time shop and bling

What caught your eye in the shops queen?

fedup I meant to link a Boden jumpsuit for you - am on phone so can't now but it is called Sophia if you want to search for it. Boilersuit style. I have ordered so can report back. I do think a 'non-boiler suit' style (official description) is more flattering though.

QueenC1 · 30/08/2016 11:38

Nothing in particular bernice but I just love seeing all the new stuff. Lots of it looks typical autumnal-olive, mustard, burgundy but I did spy a few purple things which look like a good match for my damson swatch which is a great colour for me and hard to find. I looked at the boots which I have my eye on (not linking until I decide to buy or not) and although lovely I think they may be a bit short to look right with jeans.

one, sounds like you've had a massive clear out. Well done. I usually have a good clear out of the house around this time of year as it gets so messy after the long holidays and the elder 2 are about to have birthdays so will accumulate more rubbish. I need to hang on though as we will be having decorating work done later in the autumn and the girls will be moving bedrooms. Dd1 is a hoarder though so v difficult to persuade her to part with stuff.
