Summertime, and the livin' is easy...some of us are basking on beaches, others are managing the madness that is school's out but work goes on...either way we want to look chic in the heat while it lasts

Come tell us what you are wearing on these balmy days...it's friendly here Smile

Hello all

Loving the holiday, though quite hungover today! Top tip: do not handle a razor when drunk - you may lose part of your thumb. Sleeping for about 10h a night and still tired! Crazy - normally get about 4-5h.

Bernice yes, I wear for casual, particularly the Boden ruched ones.

libertydoddle · 17/08/2016 14:24

Links at last

I have ordered this jacket and these shoes.

Hoping the jacket arrives today or tomorrow. The shoes are in my local Clark's waiting for me to collect.

Just back from a few days away with dh so thought I'd have a quick catch up with you all.

Blingy am so pleased the party went well - it all looked amazing and you looked fab. Looking forward to you returning to your usual shopping habits Grin

Amber sounds like you're having a lovely time and Dream & Queen happy holidays too. Is Dry back soon?

Lib love the jacket but can't open the shoe link. I'm most impressed with your wardrobe planning.

Am liking the links for the block heels, how are you all styling them? The summer ones I have look great with a trapeze dress or ankle length trousers but not sure what I'd wear them with in A/W.

I did an M&S food hall dash yesterday but found time to have a quick look at some Limited Edition loved this blouse - wasn't in the sale yesterday otherwise I'd have snapped it up!

These shoes amazingly looked great on (was wearing breton dress) but were too high and I clumped around the floor rather than wafted gracefully! (Also were not in the sale yesterday)

Mara how is your thesis coming along? Hope you're winning!

libertydoddle · 17/08/2016 16:44

Oops - another go at linking the shoes They were reduced from £50 to £20 and now seem to be gone off the website.

I like those mules too Fedup but very high.

libertydoddle · 17/08/2016 16:53

Some New Look block heels. I tried these on today and they are really nice. Bernice I they also have the black version with a gold trim on the heel which are lovely.

And I have found exactly the shoe colour, shape and heel height I want - kakhi, mid high, block heel Mary Janes. Your mission Voguettes, if you choose to accept it, is to find me this shoe in leather (or suede) Smile

OP posts:
FedupNagging · 17/08/2016 18:59

Crikey Lib your mission is a tough one!

I can't find exactly what you're after, it's an either or situation; however
Love these
These are gorgeous but are neither khaki nor leather
Love these but only tick 2 of your criteria
Oh I love these and should satisfy your golf club captain tendancies Grin
Nice shoes wrong colour
Right colour wrong everything else!

Someone with a better search engine/more patience will come along soon with the 'perfect pair' for you!

FedupNagging · 17/08/2016 19:06

Anyone fancy these shoes? Amber Wink

Am sorely tempted by these mules but don't know where I'd wear them

libertydoddle · 17/08/2016 19:19

Those shearling heels must count among the most impractical items ever!

Thanks fedup. The Rossi's are fantastic and about £300 above my mental upper limit for shoes!!! And the Marant are lovely too. It's weird I think that there are great mid height Mary Jane shoes at the high end and at the low end but none of the mid price places seem to be doing them.

shopafrolic · 17/08/2016 19:29

Evening all. I have been rubbish about next MU. I had 3rd Sept but seem to remember loads couldn't make it and now it has kicked off with my dad. Does anyone else fancy taking the reins on this?

Dreamqueen · 17/08/2016 20:41

Advice please.

Tried dungaree dress on tonight. I like it but am not sure how much wear I'd get out of it. I know it's not expensive but I'm trying to be more sensible about my purchases.(sensible shopping head only got put on this week Smile) Can I wear it in A/W?

FedupNagging · 17/08/2016 21:24

That's really nice Dream and yes it's definitely an A/W purchase - I'd wear with opaques and brogues/loafers, Jalouse boots or knee high boots. In fact, I think I need a pinafore dress too!

Shop I can't make 3rd Sept but am more than happy to organise another MU - a few of us have big birthdays & talked about a MU in the Autumn to celebrate - Mara, Blair and Dry are you all still up for it? It would need to be mid November onward though as I have something on every weekend from now until then.

FedupNagging · 17/08/2016 21:25

Oops, completely forgot to send you Flowers One; hope all went well today.

shopafrolic · 17/08/2016 21:45

Go for it Fedup - seems ages away but am sure it will arrive soon enough

shopafrolic · 17/08/2016 21:47

I'll probably still head to London on the 3rd anyway if anyone happens to be about .

Dreamqueen · 17/08/2016 21:52

Thanks Fedup great styling ideas for the dress. Need to look for decent opaque tights now. My lack of a waist seems to make all tights roll down when I sit down, I've tried cheap & expensive with no joy.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 17/08/2016 22:10

I can't make the 3rd Sept, but up for the "big birthday" MU!

Dream I agree with Fedup, you could wear the dress with a polo neck top or jumper underneath, opaques and pretty much any winter footwear. I don't really have any advice on tights as I've got a big bum and small waist but have read that putting knickers over the top can help?!

libertydoddle · 17/08/2016 22:30

Shop I was just wondering about the 3rd today - I had said yes, then DH wasn't impressed at it's the last weekend before school starts so wanted to do something together but I'll chat to him and let you know. Lunch would be great. And I'm also up for helping everyone celebrate birthdays.

Just had a massive catch up poolside. Lots of links I couldn't open.

Happy birthday Blair CakeWine[fizz] what are your birthday plans?

Lib glad your project has come to its fruition and that your shoulders feel lighter.

Blingy glad the party was a success and I bet you looked fab in the HL. Have you really spent 3 years planning a surprise? Shock I admire your dedication.

Shop Flowers for you and df. He's having a really tough time of it at the mo.

Queen glad you've finally got away.

One hope the op goes well today

No poolside shopping for me, will have to lose a stone to fit into my clothes Confused Will be hot footing it to the gym as soon as I land.

Everyonelovessparkles · 18/08/2016 09:43

Happy birthday blair WineCakeFlowers hope you have a nice day. Glad that the GC dress was just what you wanted.

Hope you are enjoying your holiday amber

dream you can definitely wear that in A/W with tights, polo neck, ankle boots etc it could be pretty versatile.

lib am impressed by the wardrobe organising. Your shoe search is a tough one! Looks like fedup already made a good start though!

shop hope things aren't too bad with your DF.

blingy glad the party went well and everyone enjoyed it. I'm very impressed by the 3 year planning for a surprise! Hope your DH likes it.

one Flowers for today.

I've been perusing the usual websites but nothing is really standing out at the moment. It feels wrong to be buying for A/W when it's been so hot but am getting a bit sick of the sales now and seeing the same old stuff. The sales seem to have gone on forever this year.

Hope everyone has a good day.

shopafrolic · 18/08/2016 11:15

I was thinking that Everyone I swear the sales started before I went on holiday which was ages ago!
Amber ouch about the drunk razor incident.
Hope everyone else is having amazing holidays - I am loving all the FB pics.
Blair hope you're having a lovely day :)

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 18/08/2016 13:17

I am thanks shop and everyone :)

DH went to work for the morning, and when he gets back we're going to the hotel where we got married. Will spend the afternoon in the spa and then we'll have dinner there. Tomorrow it'll be back to the spa Grin and Saturday we've got dinner and karaoke with family and friends. We leave for our holiday on Sunday, so it's going to be a fun few days!

Outfit is new topshop jeans, uniqlo stripe silk shirt and Uterque shoes, and later it's going to be Stella skirt and Maison Scotch cream crochet top tucked in.

FedupNagging · 18/08/2016 13:29

Happy birthday Blair Flowers Wine enjoy all the activities you have planned - all sound fab.

I'll organise the next MU when everyone is back off their holidays. Shop if no one is around on 3rd Sept, I'm still about the Sat before.

HappyGirlNow · 18/08/2016 14:45

Hi all

Not been about much so just skim read there and too much to comment on Grin

Just back from Barcelona and off to Rhodes on 31st. Just bought this [[https://www.frenchconnection.com/product/71fof/tassel-beach-textured-maxi-dress.htm?search_keywords=maxi%20dress FCUK dress] for Rhodes at night as its a dressy hotel. I'll exchange belt for my Gucci belt. It's lovely on Grin

Bad time temptation wise for me - even though it's still mild the blinking new season jackets and boots get me spending eeek!!!

Also bought this white Zara jumpsuit and green Zara jumpsuit - love them!

VivaVegas · 18/08/2016 17:18

Happy birthday Blair sounds like you have a fab few days planned.

Sorry to hear DF is still unwell Shop, very hard to see your parents become vulnerable.

From a visit to Zara in my lunch break yesterday and from looking at Hush's new collection there's a lot of burgundy and khaki around for autumn. Not sure that either really suit me but need to do a Liberty esque clothes audit before I buy anything new anyway!

So a few others mentioned up thread the need to loose a few lbs and I need to lose 1/2 to 3/4 of a stone, most of which is round my middle. I'm shortish and short waisted so carrying just this little bit extra is not good. Any suggestions on the best approach, I'm quite tempted by Weight Watchers a friend has lost 2 stone on this and looks great without feeling deprived. I do lots of exercise but also eat lots and have a bad snack habit in the evening which I really need to knock on the head!

HappyGirlNow · 18/08/2016 18:52

I did a few weeks of online Slimming World earlier this year viva and absolutely loved it. Really good recipes and simple plan to follow too. And effective! Grin
